I think intelligence deserved its own stat. Characters like rhinox, tarantulas, tigatron and even megatron really shine here. I know it’s not combat related, but it makes up large parts of these characters.
It’s a shame we didn’t got more time with airazor. There was supposed to be an episode around her and blackarachnia, but writers didn’t came up how to progress this story. Shame
It would have been cool to get that yeah, though it is a little cringy to get the "Girls Strike Out" episode. But maybe it would have been good. I just think there's a large chance that that would be the one where people go, "Beast Wars Was Great... Except for that one episode."
@@PerspectiveEnd I would have enjoyed an Airazor & Blackarachnia episode, but the idea of Airazor abandoning her fellow Maximals to join forces with an enemy soldier DOES sound cringey, especially if they emphasized the whole “boys vs girls” angle, like the guys on both sides say or do something to turn their only female allies against them & they literally form a girl’s only faction to screw over both sides (I don’t think even Rattrap could say something offensive enough to make Airazor LITERALLY want to switch sides & kill him lol). Now, if the two of them were forced to team up to survive a mutually dangerous situation, Enemy Mine style, that could have worked. For example, maybe the two of them are caught in an alien trap & have to work together to save themselves and/or their respective teams, loads of possibilities there for storytelling. Alternatively, perhaps BA’s treacherous ways & sense of superiority over her fellow Predacons backfires on her when her fellow Preds decide to turn on her during a battle with Airazor, believing they can blame Airazor for BA’s destruction and avoid any possible repercussions so long as they manage to destroy Airazor as well (since Megs is more likely to accept their cover story so long as the maximals lost a soldier or too as well). Naturally, BA is forced to convince Airazor to team up with her to guarantee their mutual survival against her backstabbing teammates (I’m thinking Terrorsaur, Waspinator, and maybe one other season one Pred, they ALL have reason to hate BA & are reckless enough to pull such a stunt when Megatron isn’t watching, & their flight abilities & combined firepower are enough of a threat that she’d deem Airazor’s cooperation essential to her own survival, especially if she’s already damaged or been disarmed etc). Heck, I can even picture BA trying to convince Airazor to play along with a plan to assassinate Megatron & put her on the Predacon throne in exchange for a peace accord between their two sides. Regardless, all of these scenarios would have to end with BA & Airazor going their separate ways after the fact, whether because BA betrayed Airazor’s trust first or because the mutual danger had passed & they no longer required one another’s aid anymore.
9:31 - It still makes me laugh how they bothered keeping the circular saw edge and spike balls but reduced both to mere window dressing, granted it is metal as fuck window dressing but still......and that's just another thing I love about the Thrilling 30 toy, how the guns can switch to saw modes for more direct ripping and tearing :3
The fact that Dinobot is able to go to blows with the heaviest hitters in the series despite having the worst arsenal is a testament to how gifted his is in combat. The only reason he didn’t make it to the end of the war was because he was forced to fight an entire army featuring bots with literal super powers. If he’d ever bothered to get ahold of some better weaponry he may have even been able to make it out of the Beast Wars. Then again, if he did that his character probably would have been ruined in Beast Machines so it’s probably for the best.
An honestly what I think did most of the damage to him, was just that first Sucker shot by Tarantulas, and then having Rampage's Cannon explode in his face.
What's weird is that Rhinox was shown using Cheetor's blaster in the premier, which I'm going to chalk up to budget and time issues; Mainframe had a deadline, and one weapon model might've just taken longer than they had. Good thing he ditches it for something that not only has better firepower, but it arguable the ultimate weapon, at least in the first season.
Well he picks it up from the top of the hill, so I always interpreted it as him grabbing the gun as part of a retrieval, cause leaving a weapon behind like that would be a tactical mistake.
Well yeah, I mean that's where I got the clip of him shooting the rocks to fall on them comes from, but it's not really a fair display because it's really easy to stab people who trust you in the back.
can we just talk about that cyberbee episode for a moment. that was just brutal.. He grabbed that anchor missile and outright just impaled a guy with it. thats a Protoform-x move not an Optimus move, i mean holy cow.

My theory about Dinobot’s eye lasers is that when Primal punched him in the face during their fight he damaged the targeting for the lasers, making them hit elsewhere from where he aims

I can daydream all day long about what kind of media I'm looking for but to just do an upgrade in the same constraints, demonstrating how much better it could have been, is kind of cathartic... It might seem frustrating but the original show is already frustrating so knowing that it could have been fixed Is cool.

And what about what about the time when Rhinox was infected with a virus he was able to fire lasers way more deadlier than Dinobot, and let's not forget the most OP Rhinox has in his ability in arsenal, his massive stinky bomb that was able to make the predacons tremble in fear and was able to incapacitate a majority of them which even made Megatron scream for his life out of sheer embarrassment. It was so powerful that it can be seen in space. Will you do this for G1 or other TF continuites?
Love how beast wars has its character for each thing without being a troupe, like strongman dumb or leader being perfect, like rhinox was a genius too and optimus primal wasn't a great leader but they still had all the roles filled. Mightve not made sense but you get what I mean
I feel like Optimus was the best leader, sure people didn't want to listen to them, but that was really at their expense. His problem wasn't poor leadership, it was a rebellious crew.

oh my god ive been trying to talk so much about this you nailed it pretty good except for the single worst thing about the show inconsistensy battle powers I love the show don't get me wrong my only gripes with it is that because its last show was g1 and at that point bumblebee could defeat megatron with the power of being a good guy despite saying the decepticons are stronger they lose every single battle, the fact laserbeak rumble and ravage have more wins says a lot, thankfully beast wars gave some w to the preds but Im glad you're starting with maximals considering for the next video you can take into consideration if their power if the plot didn't favor the maximals ur lucky im only going bc i agree in almost everything you said because when it comes to preds prepare 10 paragraphs on why inferno was the second strongest pred for 10 episodes before he got power creeped as hell because of transmetal power
I don't think the battle prowess of the characters is all that inconsistent. I mean whats wrong with the Casseticons being really strong despite their size. A lot of the characters fall by the wayside in terms of power because of the Upgrades that show up later.
I feel like Megatron would be the 2nd most powerful Predacon. His "Cleverness and cunning" could outwit the maximals and maybe new predacons to join his squad and the reason why that I gave megatron 2nd place because 1st place goes to Rampage, he has Starscream's immortal Spark (Even though he died by Raw energon in the ocean by Depth charge) and his Tank mode could turn some Maximals into heaps of scrap
As far as season 1 goes I'd actually disagree, I'd rate him actually pretty low. Almost all of his men are better armed than he is, and Megatron while having great Manipulation and Target Prioritization, doesn't seem to have a great grasp of positioning, or approach.
BW Megatrom- What is primal's power level Terrorsaur- This damn maximal is gifted across the board Optimus prime- And these gorilla hands are rated e for everyone
The ep where the Predicons learn how bad it would be for Rhinox to be reprogrammed as one of them is easily one of my faves. Solid stat blocks. Wish Tigatron and Airazor had more screen time to shore up deficiencies, but can't have it all.
That could've been very interesting yes. The closest thing and she got to an episode already was the one that she had with Tigatron. You might want to establish their relationship further, but I would love to see her dynamic with other people more.
This isn't related to the video, but I have the faintest memory of watching beast wars. It's so faint I don't even know if it's real, but I remember seeing some of the characters later on and recognizing cheetor and dinobot, but again, very faintly, and only cheetors alt mode. So much is jumbled I don't think it's a real memory, but I've had it for so long I don't know Also it is a great video, hope you do the rest
I know what I did there. It's never that much more effective than that though. There's one time where it Knocked back Megatron like 30 feet, but didn't really hurt him, and that's the best it ever did.
I have to agree with all of these, tho rattrap might be the weakest in strength, but I have no doubt that he would beat cheetor in a fist fight, considering that he would definitely play dirty.

In that matter I always disagreed with those cards when they said Primal was smarter than Megatron. BW Megatron excels at it. I think he is the smarter and had the highest wits in the whole show. That's what made him so dangerous... Still his arrogance got the better of him on certain situations.
Feel like tigatron would earn a higher score in strength. He isn’t particularly strong but 6 feels a bit low. I easily see him defeating most average characters based on size alone
I don’t think the spinning tail is a shield I think it’s a spinning blade, it’s still not one of the more useful weapons, I see why dinobot two doesn’t have it
I'd disagree, it's a shield. 1 He never uses it as a weapon. 2 It's not great for ranged attacks, but as something meant to defend against Melee attacks it makes a good amount of sense. If you swing or stab into it, it will shove the attack off to the side.

I'd be curious to see this again with the upgraded forms, mainly Transmetals. Cheetor and Megatron especially change a good deal with these.
Cheetor still sucks when he gets the Transmetal form though. He like crashes all the time, and it doesn't really help him fight.

oh my god ive been trying to talk so much about this you nailed it pretty good except for the single worst thing about the show
inconsistensy battle powers
I love the show don't get me wrong my only gripes with it is that because its last show was g1 and at that point bumblebee could defeat megatron with the power of being a good guy despite saying the decepticons are stronger they lose every single battle, the fact laserbeak rumble and ravage have more wins says a lot, thankfully beast wars gave some w to the preds but Im glad you're starting with maximals considering for the next video you can take into consideration if their power if the plot didn't favor the maximals
ur lucky im only going bc i agree in almost everything you said because when it comes to preds prepare 10 paragraphs on why inferno was the second strongest pred for 10 episodes before he got power creeped as hell because of transmetal power
I don't think the battle prowess of the characters is all that inconsistent.
I mean whats wrong with the Casseticons being really strong despite their size.
A lot of the characters fall by the wayside in terms of power because of the Upgrades that show up later.
I need to watch this show. I watched maybe the first half of season one and I did get into it but I need to try it again.
I feel like Megatron would be the 2nd most powerful Predacon. His "Cleverness and cunning" could outwit the maximals and maybe new predacons to join his squad and the reason why that I gave megatron 2nd place because 1st place goes to Rampage, he has Starscream's immortal Spark (Even though he died by Raw energon in the ocean by Depth charge) and his Tank mode could turn some Maximals into heaps of scrap
As far as season 1 goes I'd actually disagree, I'd rate him actually pretty low. Almost all of his men are better armed than he is, and Megatron while having great Manipulation and Target Prioritization, doesn't seem to have a great grasp of positioning, or approach.

Even when compared to Rattrap, the small coward. To be fair Rattrap is one of the most dangerous Maximals in Practice.

The ep where the Predicons learn how bad it would be for Rhinox to be reprogrammed as one of them is easily one of my faves. Solid stat blocks. Wish Tigatron and Airazor had more screen time to shore up deficiencies, but can't have it all.

That could've been very interesting yes. The closest thing and she got to an episode already was the one that she had with Tigatron.

This isn't related to the video, but I have the faintest memory of watching beast wars. It's so faint I don't even know if it's real, but I remember seeing some of the characters later on and recognizing cheetor and dinobot, but again, very faintly, and only cheetors alt mode. So much is jumbled I don't think it's a real memory, but I've had it for so long I don't know

4:24 dude that was a bad example, he was very damaged and low on energy at that point, of course it would have been less effective
I know what I did there. It's never that much more effective than that though. There's one time where it Knocked back Megatron like 30 feet, but didn't really hurt him, and that's the best it ever did.

Cool! Interesting you made based on what they do on the show, rather than the tech spech card on toys package! In that matter I always disagreed with those cards when they said Primal was smarter than Megatron. BW Megatron excels at it. I think he is the smarter and had the highest wits in the whole show. That's what made him so dangerous... Still his arrogance got the better of him on certain situations.

Feel like tigatron would earn a higher score in strength. He isn’t particularly strong but 6 feels a bit low. I easily see him defeating most average characters based on size alone

A skilled fighter wins the fight by being better than their opponent. A tactical fighter wins the fight before it ever started.

I don’t think the spinning tail is a shield I think it’s a spinning blade, it’s still not one of the more useful weapons, I see why dinobot two doesn’t have it
I'd disagree, it's a shield.
1 He never uses it as a weapon.
2 It's not great for ranged attacks, but as something meant to defend against Melee attacks it makes a good amount of sense. If you swing or stab into it, it will shove the attack off to the side.

To be fair Toei animated a LOT of stuff, and beast wars isn't G1.
