@Goldenscorpony I'm a whole lot more optimistic now than I was when I first uploaded these. That was before Equestria Girls was released, and we didn't really know what Hasbro thought about our particular demographic. Lately, though, Hasbro has been super awesome to us. They're giving us shoutouts, they let us sell custom merch, they don't take videos off of youtube... I honestly didn't think a big company like that could be so cool.
@Tiltkid I haven't tried to contact Hasbro in a while. Daniel Ingram said that he would make sure Hasbro is aware of the demand, but he's not sure if Hasbro's interested either. At the moment I'm composing the soundtrack for My Little Investigations.
@dogman15 I'm planning on charting the Smile song. I've already started actually. I just moved into a new house, so I'm busy unpacking still, but it'll probably get done over spring break next week.
@sexyapplejack102 Twilight Sparkle is the keyboard player hidden off stage that's been with the band from the begining but has never been shown, like Michael Kenney of Iron Maiden. She's the female version of jorden Rudess (AKA: the Wizzard). Not that I'm saying this is the pony dream theather, I dont think Rarity is canadian, but pinky as the pony Mike Portnoy... hell YES!
@AQuickAlias I wouldn't hold your breath. I haven't made contact with anyone yet, but I've been asking around. It doesn't help that I'm not affiliated with Harmonix, or any other company for that matter. The creators have been great about responding to fans, but the rights holders are a different beast entirely. My guess is that they wouldn't be interested because Rock Band isn't so popular with their target demographic.
@TrotPilgrim You're right on one account, but luckygirl22100 is right. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic wasn't a Hasbro original. They do own, fund, and hire, but the the true creator of the show is Lauren Faust. This show is basically based off of Lauren's childhood idea, so if they want to add stuff or make creative changes, they have to consult Lauren before they do anything.
@omglolwtfmudkips It actually can't be free. There's no option to make songs free when you submit them to the Rock Band Network. It doesn't cost anything to submit a song to the RBN, so Harmonix makes all their RBN money from sales.
@KillersCasket That's not entirely true. Lauren originally wanted to create a TV show based on her Milky Way Galaxy Girls project, but they hired her to work on My Little Pony instead, because they needed to reimagine their old brands for their new channel, The Hub. If they hadn't hired Lauren to work on it they would've hired someone else. All the decisions Lauren made had to be approved by Hasbro first, as she stated in her interview with Equestria Daily.
@TrotPilgrim No no, that makes sense. I assume you've contacted Hasbro and/or Daniel Ingram about licensing? As a Wii owner who never really had full access to RBN content anyway (and who is seriously bummed about missing out on RBN 2.0 so far), I don't know the whole process for getting a custom song into playtesting and peer review, but as long as you're consistently moving forward with all of this (or at least attempting to), it's very possible this could actually come to fruition... Awesome.
@TrotPilgrim That's probably true. It sounds to me like it all depends on a few arbitrary, unrelated factors: Does Hasbro realize a large part of their demographic for MLPFiM is not what they originally thought, and if so, would they alter their business strategies to make more money off the franchise? (read: approach HMX about putting songs into RB3 as official DLC) And conversely, would HMX approve your MLP content for RBN if Hasbro/Ingram okays it? Basically, who's holding all the cards here?
@extremefrisbee It's Rarity with a tired voice, i guess it was to express how worn out she was after making all those dresses... she's voiced by Kasumi Evans on the songs
@luckygirl22100 That's not really accurate to say. They own the show, they fund the show, they choose who to hire to work on the show, and they have the final say in any of the decisions the production team makes. Without Hasbro the show couldn't have been made.
Watching this video makes me think there needs to be some sort of MLP concert, with all the voice actresses actually singing the songs live. It would be awesome.
@AQuickAlias And wouldn't Hasbro and HMX both benefit from MLP songs in RBN? For relatively little work (especially on Hasbro's part), they could make a quick and easy profit. HMX gets money from each sale automatically, and Hasbro earns some portion of it, plus it spreads the MLP brand to a new demographic... free advertising? Who would turn this down? (Also, if you want to continue this conversation but don't want it to clog up your video page, I'm cool with moving to channel comments or PMs.)
@TrotPilgrim That's true, but I heard from my sis that hasbro diden't make the new my little pony, it was someone else's idea and the told hasbro, I don't nkow anythign about the rights and etc.
@KilobyteBrain You're a Wii RB brony too? I thought I was the only one! (You should add me, what's your friend code? I'll find mine soon.) Anyway, yes, a Frets on Fire release would be absolutely fantastic, seeing as it's a lot easier for the people like myself who have FoF but no 360 (not to mention cheaper... I'd prefer not to have to buy a completely new console to play pony songs...) @TrotPilgrim Hasbro's been fine with the fan involvement for the series thus far, why would they stop now?
Is it bad that I got rather excited when I remembered the "20% cooler" line was actually still during the song, so would be included on the vocals here? >__>
Because I want to get the songs on the Rock Band Network. If somehow pigs were to fly and I were hired to author these songs for the Rock Band Network then it wouldn't be fan content anymore, it would be official content, and giving it away for free would be copyright infringement. I feel silly trying to explain it because it's so unlikely that it'll ever happen.
On the off chance that Hasbro approves them, do you think you could still put them up for download as Frets on Fire tracks or something? The Wii no longer has RBN support, just Harmonix's own DLC.
@AQuickAlias I hate to butt in, but I'm also Wii brony, however my poison is Guitar Hero. On the off-chance you happen to have it, would you be interested in adding me? I have just over 400 songs, so I have plenty to work with. I also own RB3, but never play it for various reasons. If not, never mind and I'm sorry to have bothered you.
Argh! just tighten up the gap between the two parts! or blend them in! I'm so sorry if I sound like one of them asking Rarity to make a dress.. but i just love this song too much to except it like that!! Please, it would be perfect for me. Again, really sorry if I'm annoying you.
god if they actually made a band in which the girls would try to act and dress something close tot the characters... i'd definitly go to their concerts!
"french haute couture please" wait.. so in the MLP universe there's a france?? Fillydelphia, Canterlot, Ponyville, Cloudsdale, Appleloosa, and.. france?
love how the whole band looks like they're playing something crazy and metal or somethin XD
Oh gosh! This is amazing! The animation syncing is great and the characters are all dressed like their pony counterparts. I'm loving this!
Pretty awesome to see anyone trying the Hard Rock/metal version of the song. Props to anyone that can play the guitar part.

I just noticed how you scripted each character to say their corresponding lines in the middle. VERY nice!

WHY CAN'T I BLOODY FAVORITE THIS FOREVER?!
Oh man, that drum track looks wicked fun :3

An impressive attention to detail you have.
Whenever you see the actual notes on paper, or here on RockBand, you really get to appreciate every note. :)

i like how at the end, Rarity takes a stage dive and is immediately back on stage
Any season 2 songs that you think would work well with this game? Becoming Popular? Smile Song?
"It needs to be about 20% cooler", the best part in vocal
DAYUM I was laughing about the mod of Rarity and AJ XD was awesome :B
The dive at the end was so uncalled for and i can't stop laughing about it. I'd like to think no one caught her and she just busted her ass.
That's really great how there's a drum fill right after: "20% cooler."
officially throwing in my support for Hasbro to give the rights and stems for Rock band Network. And get them to the PS3 post haste!
Watching this video makes me think there needs to be some sort of MLP concert, with all the voice actresses actually singing the songs live. It would be awesome.
OHHH FUCK...this is the most amazing thing I've ever seen...
@AQuickAlias And wouldn't Hasbro and HMX both benefit from MLP songs in RBN? For relatively little work (especially on Hasbro's part), they could make a quick and easy profit. omg I will buy rock band 3 to play this if it comes to their stores!
The stage dive at the end was hilarious. XD
@TrotPilgrim That's true, but I heard from my sis that hasbro diden't make the new my little pony, it was someone else's idea and the told hasbro, I don't nkow anythign about the rights and etc.
Everybody always wanted to know how the ponies will look human & well here you go right here in this video!
i love rock band and it would be a honor to play these songs
@KilobyteBrain You're a Wii RB brony too? I thought I was the only one! (You should add me, what's your friend code? I'll find mine soon.) I love how she "faints" into the audience at the end.
@KilobyteBrain I don't think Hasbro would let that happen.
Bro for the "20% cooler" bit you gotta make that an Overdrive section
Is it bad that I got rather excited when I remembered the "20% cooler" line was actually still during the song, so would be included on the vocals here? >__>
who is the one on bass (red hair) applebloom?
Have there been any more updates from Hasbro/Harmonix concerning bringing these to RBN? Also, is there anything that you're working at the moment?
Because I want to get the songs on the Rock Band Network. If somehow pigs were to fly and I were hired to author these songs for the Rock Band Network then it wouldn't be fan content anymore, it would be official content, and giving it away for free would be copyright infringement.

i love how all the characters in the background are dress like the ponies :3
very nice map, very impressive
ur awesome bro how long did it take to do this?
@AQuickAlias
I hate to butt in, but I'm also Wii brony, however my poison is Guitar Hero. On the off-chance you happen to have it, would you be interested in adding me? I have just over 400 songs, so I have plenty to work with. I also own RB3, but never play it for various reasons.

Takeallmymoney.jpg
Seriously, Hasbro would make so much by approving these songs and I'd be happy forever.
I'm really hoping Ingram can get the OK to upload these onto Rock Band!
Harmonix MUST release these songs on Rock Band
suprized myself with my nowledge of this song
I love the bass especially in the second part
Argh! just tighten up the gap between the two parts! or blend them in! I'm so sorry if I sound like one of them asking Rarity to make a dress.. but i just love this song too much to except it like that!! Please, it would be perfect for me. Again, really sorry if I'm annoying you.
LOL At the end, when you hear the "THUMP" noise, the singer jumps into the crowd xD
@clintma
It probably will be free...hopefully.
at the start of 00:15, isn't there a background bass line being played?
@KillersCasket It is O_O the more you know :)
Omigosh! I can't believe Pinkie Pie is the drummer. XD YEAH!
oh my god, this is crazy XD he even made the singer look like rarity XD
I would totally buy this if it was actually released on RBN.
I never noticed the drum fill at 3:56 before. Yeesh, that looks hard (but then again I suck at drums XD).
Awesome lol
@trogdor1oh1 Of course.
If it does go up on RBN, I hope its free.
Hey, you don't suppose you could send me the mini's and oggs and what not?
Listen to those fans cheer!
I'm working on it.
Can you please post the Links for these songs?
This song is definitely 20% cooler than the rest of them.

You're video's fine. It's just the whole chart has gotta be about 20% cooler.
god if they actually made a band in which the girls would try to act and dress something close tot the characters... i'd definitly go to their concerts!
Whoa, is Rarity a trap? That's so amazing
"Double aswesome"?
The game obviously misspelled "rainbow".
