Honestly, I think it would be funniest if we run into an Ascian or two just hanging out on the beach relaxing because, with Zodiark dead, there's really not much point in pursuing the Rejoining.

even without Zodiarks passing, the fact that Eli, Emit, and Laha are dead, it would really severely limit their options as our interaction with Nabriales has shown. There is only some much meddling they can do without their unsundered leadership. Which is probably one reason Danny just decided to up and inhabit the partial Zodiark, considering rejoining was no longer an tangible option at that point.

    • @idminister
      @idminister 3 месяца назад

the rejoining still has a point, the one that is told to newcomers and potential initates: rejoining shards into the source that as souls cycle they will be rejoined and the world restored in aether and the old souls (with new bodies and minds) in power
the rejoining itself requires unbalancing the aether of the shard and source at the same time in manner that attracts them like opposing magnets; with simultaneous elemental calamities; zodiark was never mentioned as a requirement for rejoining the 'land' itself
without the unsundered, the ancient civilization itself cannot be remade as all that history is lost
the reason zodiark was first created is no longer present nor a need
what has gone: resurrecting zodiark their 'one true god', and to subsequently revive the ancient civilization in both place and the people with massive blood sacrifice of the 'lesser' sentient beings
what remains of this plan are the fragments of zodiark on the unjoined shards

@@idminister While I concede that they may try for simply returning to the Unsundered World, like what Varis wanted, we do know that the fragments of Zodiark are also gone thanks to the Post-Endwalker stuff, where Golbez says that the fragments just up and dissolved a while back (presumably when we killed Zodiark near the start of EW), but the Darkness he was made of couldn't go anywhere because of the reflection's state.

As it stands, considering the base people the remaining Asians originate from, barring madness like fandaniel or arrogance like nebrialles, they shouldn't necessarily be hostile, but equal chance they could be, the bigger threat would be the Asian acolytes who would now have essentially become cultist who saw their all powerful leaders culled. That's usually a recipe for doubling down and hysteria
I would be interested in learning about Igeyorhm and how she became so close to a Lahahrea we now know didn't have the best track record with relationships, nor best relationship with fusion...

Before watching the video, my answer would be Emmerololth, Scion of light and the figure at the top of the DT poster.
After watching the video, I am just going to explain why it must be her.
First, she's traditionally (FFXII) the Scion of Light (associated with healing and medicine). The white healer-ish figure at the top of the DT poster (and later shown as the mysterious maide) is mighty bright.
Also in the trailer, the lalafell running through the stargate (in an era that's long ago) is wearing gear associated with Eureka (the camera makes it impossible to miss the unique shoes). This places the stargate, the yellow-hued techno city and its "pyramid of light", at the end of the third era and the fall of Allag. It also associates it with Eureka.
Emmerololth is the only Ascian deeply associated with Eureka.
In terms of her role, I suggest she's helped part of the Allagans escape the end of the third Era. We know they were space-faring, so some may have escaped on spaceships. Some may have survived underground. One plausible storyline would be that the spaceships attacking Tuliyolal are the first returnees from the Allagan diaspora. We might be made aware of their coming or at least of the threat further waves pose by those who survived in the city of light.

  • @Shiirow

all the ascians, non-unsundered, we defeated before we got the shards of memories in Shadowbringers have a _chance_ to resurface because that how they regained their memories as ancients in the first place. now that the stones came to us and subsequently destroyed along with Elidibus, there are no physical ways to reawaken the convocation of fourteen once the current memory holder is destroyed, barring any extreme circumstances like the case of Gaia/Loghrif.
Once they are defeated now, theres a high probability of never seeing them resurface as their old self (meaning old Ascian Danny boy is long gone), not to say though they cant crop up as a non-ascian villain on some distant shard in the future but not with their powers and memories from their ancient days.

  • @KinoGeno
    @KinoGeno 3 месяца назад +1

It has never been made clear how exactly one of the sundered Ascians is able to resurface when they're defeated. Just that they would continue to return unless their aether was contained using an artifact and allowed to enter the lifestream. It seems to be implied that they are able to simply possess a new body. Living or recently deceased. It also seems that they dont need to die to take a new body, but that is how they typically do it.
However, it is implied that because Lahabrea, Emet Selch, and Elidibus are unsundered, they're the only ones who actually have their memories, and keep their memories when they possess a new body. Examples of this being Emet Selch's cloning bay where he keeps spare bodies of himself, while the sundered ascians do not have their memories and while they can possess someone new when they die, that person does not suddenly become the ascian, their memories need to be reawoken first.
The memory stones seem to be one method of how an Ascian might regain access to their memories. However we've also seen that 1 Ascian with their memories is able to force another to recover their memories. We saw this when Mitron tried to force Gaia to regain Loghrif's memories.
The sundered ascians also, while gaining access to said memories, do not necessarily become a copy of the original and simply choose to follow the ascians, however it's not a matter of Person A becoming a new copy of Person B. It's Person A with all of the memories of Person B, but still the motivations and personality of Person A. We see this with Fandaniel who, without the oversight of the unsundered Ascians, persues his own agenda which is counter to the goals of the ascians themselves. We also see this, funny enough, with the Warrior of Light. We've received multiple memories of Azem, we've joined with another fragment of him/her, but we are still us.
Emet Selch also is implied to be the only Ascian who was capable of actually seeing aether which would allow him to identify his fellow ascians.
Now that all of the sundered ascian are dead, and Emet Selch specifically is gone, even though there are technically shards of the sundered ascians out there, there's no way for any of them to regain their memories unless through some freak accident.
The only possible loose thread having to deal with the Ascians is Claudien / Erichthonios and the Heart of Sabik. Claudien is a shard of Erichthonios and although he isn't an Ascian, he is related to one. And Claudien did briefly have interactions with his past self which could have caused some memories to awaken. It's possible he could somehow make use of those memories and whatever is left over of the Heart of Sabik to revive one of the Ascians.
It's really funny when you think about it though. At one point in history there was the potential for the ascians to have 143 members of the convocation of 13. The 10 sundered members having 14 shards each and then the 3 unsundered members. But they only ever had 1 of each member active.

I personally think the mystery maiden is Altima or Deudelphon. All we know about them is that Gaius "killed" them and took their masks.
However, since it's established that the Scions are the first to permanently kill Ascians and Gaius never learned our technique, what likely happened is they returned to the aetherial sea and later possessed a new body.
As for Solution Nine and their role in it, the city and its people originated from the Twelfth shard, which was consumed in the Second Umbral Calamity prior to the Allagans. The Ascian/Mystery Maiden (or maybe even our friend Emet-Selch?) ruled an advanced empire on that shard and used its to sow chaos and tip the shard towards Lightning, like the Allagan or Garlean empires. When it came time for the Twelfth to be swallowed up into the Source, Solution Nine was built and used some sort of technology/spell to allow it to be transported to the Source intact, with its people digitally stored (the Lalafells running into the gate and the "Soul Storage" sign). I like to imagine they also built Solutions One through Eight, but those didn't make it.

Oooh I love the theory of s9 being from an entirely different shard entirely! It would mean so much for the raid series and just in general too! Built as sort of an enormous version of the memory crystals we brought back from the first but with all its people intact!

I think it's rash to assume Gaius didn't have his own method of permanently vanquishing ascians. And Emmerololth's most likely dead. I attribute the inconsistency between ARR and Stormblood to human error on the writing staff. Pashtarot and Halmarut are the only ones who are objectively still out there, unless WoLs on other shards already took care of them.

I honestly really hope they dont appear at all unless its a tease to 8.0 in patches. Like you said the HvsZ arc is done. We need a break from ANYTHING to do with that story line. I really hope that will be the case for at least the main MSQ. No Ascians, no primals, no world ending force, no allagan tech. I just want to see something completely new, something that needs to be dealt with like another possible warning nations issue or heck even saw a theory that Sol9 will be people who survived a calamity underground and now that they threats of rejoinings are gone they plan on rising up with their better tech and being a worse threat then the Garlians. THAT would be fun.

The death of Zodiark does not mean rejoinings cannot be triggered anymore, at least by the information we have of how they are triggered and the natural properties of aether. Nor does the death of the unsundered Ascians means any remaining ones will give up on their millennia-long grudge. Given the Convocation were an organization of professionals on their respective fields with the primary goal to safeguard the star, I expect some of the remaining Ascians to use their knowledge to live out normal lives doing what their goal has always been; better the star. But it would be silly to expect not one of the remaining Ascians still wants to make the star whole again, even without Zodiark.

Halmarut is one that stands out to me. They specialized in living things - like giant cactuars. We saw that "do you even lift bro?" cactuar early on in the concept artwork, especially since so much of the new world is covered in jungle, it's certainly a possibility we could encounter them.

I think Pashtarot is a very likely presence. Their name was dropped in Myths of the Realm but I think that may be coincidence. I'm pretty sure the Yoshi P comment on Myths of the Realm related to Snoegeim's statements after the 3rd raid that she wanted to study the 12 from a perspective of reception theory. Likely we're going to see and hear a lot of things that show how the same 12 are viewed by cultures in Tural (I think these are likely the murals that Jesse Cox found on the media tour).
Ascian wise, They're still out there and it would make less since if they didn't show up going forward. With Zodiark dealt with they will be out there trying to figure out how they fit in going forward. Personally I would rather not have them be adversarial and instead be more helpful. I've seen people theorize that Erenville is Halmarut (because of similar specialities) and he actually came from the "city of gold" (actually possible) initially but that would be a little too convenient. That and if we met an ascian by helping him catch marmots, nothing in this world can be taken seriously.

I would really like to see how a Sundered Ascian from one of the Reflections in particular would handle that, knowing they love their world and that the goal of these incredibly powerful, ancient entities is to effectively destroy it, and what that Ascian might be willing to do to preserve what they now see as their own people.
