    Some corrections:
    The pointer being used is only in synagogue when reading the Torah, mainly to keep your place. You can totally touch the divine name with your finger if you so wish. The custom of a pointer is not necessarily because of the divine name as such, but for the scroll in totality either making sure the delicate object is less prone to wear and tear (i.e., like finger oils rubbing away the script, any flaw in any word would make the Torah scroll null to be used in service and must be repeared.) Another reason may be that it's seen as more respectful keeping a distance, but some synagogues don't end up using the pointer at all so it's not universal. 🤗 However the concept of not uttering the divine name is, as speech is considered a specifically powerful tool but touch is not if that makes sense.
    And as others said Vod should be said vov.
    Also in Kabbalah (in reference to elokim) you don't have godlings as underlings?? I think you may be refering to the sefirot? Those are emanations from god not really gods in themselves.
    Also there can be multiple interpretations obviously for the plural form of the divine name, but one common in Judaism is that elokim is one majestic and in the same way Queen Elizabeth may use the royal "we" when she speaks, like there's not multiple Queens she's just using it majestically. So too here - where the plural is indicative of a total dominion over all.
    but overall a fun video! your calligraphy is very pretty.

      Thank you so much for taking the time to elucidate - I’m grateful for your insightful commentary. I’m especially struck by the reason for not uttering the divine name being because speech is so powerful. That’s a very try sobering thought and reminds me to use words wisely as they really do hold creative power and can be both restorative and destructive. Thanks once again for watching, and for your kind comments of appreciation. ☺️🕊🤍

      Hi Brody - it's a fascinating topic - and one I'm constantly in the process of researching in between making videos, so strands often weave their way in, after being filtered by my limited understanding, so not sure I can really do it justice lol. But I love opening up areas to explore and currently working on a series of workshops for something I find REALLY interesting...

    מעניין, אני בעצמי לא ידעתי שאם נצמיד את האותיות של ה' יחד זה בעצם יראה לנו איש,
    בעוד שה' הוא אינו איש בכלל, הוא לא בן אדם
    נקודה למחשבה🤔
    אגב, אסור לנו לומר את שם ה' לשווא, רק אם אנחנו מקריאים מהתנ"ך, כמו כן אפילו לרשום את שם ה' הינו דבר שהוא אסור, בגלל זה אני רושמת ה' ולא את שמו המלא.
    And if u want to say the letters of the name u should say; yud, hey, vav, hey יוד, הי, וו, הי

    Jesus the king of the Jews would be translated to ישו מלך היהודים - ימה

    • @jrub3372
      @jrub3372 5 лет назад +1

      Roughly, ya thats what it would translate to. What she said actually translates to "Jesus of Nazareth and king of the Jews". The ו before מלך (king) means "and" so it's a sneaky way of fitting that translation into the name of god. Also as a side note, she's pronouncing the ו incorrectly. She's saying VOD when its really pronounced VUV, and doesn't make a W sound at all actually but really makes a V sound.

    • @countvronsky3328
      @countvronsky3328 2 года назад +1

      Yup, I assume people get confused about the vov because the German latinization of the tetragram meant that w (in German) does sound like ו but in English people assumed it's like the English w.

    So Judaism is polytheistic?

    • @NondualChristian

      Pteronarcys californica No. Did I say that?

    • @pteronarcyscalifornica694
      @pteronarcyscalifornica694 4 года назад

      @@NondualChristian Not explicitly, but certainly implied. By referring to Jehova as "the creator god," the implication is there are others. I seem to recall at least one other similar statement, but details elude me. The reference to Elohim also points to polytheism in early Judaism. I believe Genesis reads as if Judaism evolved from Canaanite polytheism. But, Christianity has its own polytheism problems.
      This was the first video of yours I watched. I was convinced you are Jewish, and upon watching others was surprised to learn you are a Christian Brit. Interesting content.

      Pteronarcys californica Thanks for taking the time to reply in such detail. I confess, it’s a long time since I made this video & I forget exactly what I said. You’re not the first person to ask if I’m Jewish. I consider it a compliment. Maybe somewhere in my lineage I’m unaware of. I certainly feel a strong love and connection to Yeshua.
