- A drone flew into the engine! Whatever will we do!?
I've been playing on the MRT server for a few years now, and I decided to do this video parodying it.
(The plane has no elevators because apparently it runs off of: "unicorns and fairy dust")

Modern aircraft are perfectly capable of sustaining safe and level flight with the loss of a single engine. In fact, even with complete engline failure, the aerodynamic properties of the aircraft will allow it to glide and remain airborne (for some time). It's only at low altitudes that engine faliure constitutes a signifigant danger (i.e. take off and landing).

some planes are even known to have landed safely with an engine completley missing from the plane, a 747 once managed to land with both engines on 1 wing missing, wish i could remember the flights name. another 747 that lost both engines on one wing flew for a fairly long time before it crashed, and if the airport was closer they to could have landed their aircraft

Yep, exist 3 types of planes
Regional planes: 10 - 70 or 90 passengers
Narrow body jets or short/medium range jets: 100 - 200
Wide body jets or long range jets: 200 - 500 passengers
And bonus: giants of the skies/jumbo or superjumbo jets:
300 - 800 passengers
And only 1 cabin

I do like the fact that they mentioned flaps n'all that, but a engine fire or failure, isn't something that requires a mayday call, it at MOST only requires a PAN call, but still, INCREDIBLE animation! This is WAYYYY better than what i could do.

A plane with an engine failure is in "critical glide" meaning you are able to glide to the runway, if you are close enough. Lose of control might be caused by wing failure, vertical stabilizer detach or, hydraulic system error.

The whole time, throughout the animation, the plane is flying much faster than any commercial airliner should. I don’t hear overspeed warnings.
Just before crash landing, the plane is flying so slow you would’ve assumed that it had stalled. However, just before the landing, it had been going so fast, was in a nose dive which would’ve caused it to pick up speed, and had overextended flaps, so it would’ve made more sense for the crash to be fast and quick. There’s also the question of why neither the runway or the plane suffered any damage.
I just love how the wing did not get ripped off the plane on landing

Yeah, all planes have ETOPS which how many hours can it fly with one engine. For example, airbus A350-900 can fly 6 hours without one engine.
I know that, and remember that we also have the ETOPS rule (Extended Twin-Engine Operations) which is the time that a plane can fly safely with one engine (Boeing 777-200LR/F/-300ER: 330 minutes)

The drone broke the motor and in real life the drone could not go that high
also the flaps arent stupidly big, they do not put the landing gear out at that high, the landing gear would not fall of that easily as again as the landing gear would come out when its very close the the ground and much slower, the clouds wouldnt go by that fast... and on top of all of that, a drone in the engine would cause the engine to malfunction slightly, but wouldnt cause an explosion as its mearly a small piece of plastic, it would cause a slight loss of power and the pilots would just shut the engine down, and the plane would be able to fly and land just fine on just 1 of its 2 remaining engines, this video is factually so bad that i dont think the fact the drone is high up matters at all, the guy made a cool animation, and it was slight entertainment, shame butthurts like me have to point out all the flaws, but the flaws dont matter

The reason of the crash is ridiculous, a plane wouldn’t hit a drone and that is impossible at the cruise altitude the pilots where flying at, trust me i am an expert.

Last time I checked, if an engine failure occurs, the plane shouldn't instantly pitch down and crash, the landing gear shouldn't snap off unless it was THAT severe.
The point is: Planes can fly with 1 engine.

I apologise to be "that guy" who talks about all the facts and doesn't appreciate the video (it's great btw) but this is a little unrealistic.
I have studied every aviation incident ever to happen, and there are none like this.
One engine failure will probably not cause too many problems, as depending on the plane there are usually 1-3 more engines to rely on.
It could cause a stall, true, but the pilots would usually be able to get the plane under control for an incident such.
even with these slight inaccuracies, the video was still an excellent representation of what a plane crash could look like in minecraft.
