Why would they let him wrestle with a neck brace?
It's a disadvantage to his opponent, and if he needs one he shouldn't be wrestling
I agree on BOTH counts dude! I've been a wrestling fan for over 40 years (since I was in high school) and this is the first time I've ever seen anything like that!
How do you wrestle someone with a neckbrace? How do you collar tie, club, throw in a half, attempt a cradle, anything against someone whose wearing a neckbrace? You can't get a full grip because the brace moves. And what happens if the guy wearing the neckbrace damages his neck even more?
It should be illegal to wear
i always try to like and comment. plz keep posting collegiate duals !!
OSU seems to be peaking at the right time
Can anyone explain why he is wrestling with a neck brace?
its not a neck brace. Its those neck pillows you use when you are flying
@@Tkenny35wtf are they doing letting them wear that
Try and get a half in on that dude wtf
He got a boo boo
They just have as a precaution so he doesn’t get hurt.
Dayton fix being absolutely boring again
Yeah I like Fix but he basically won because of a stall call. He pressed and was heavy on the head but he never got to any of his offense… He’s not beating Vito lol
Only the first period was boring just because no points were scored doesn’t necessarily mean it’s boring
Winning isn’t boring
He bumped up a weight class bruh
His style of wrestling is not aggressive/offensive like Vito. He basically wrestles to not lose and doesnt try to dominate. Any tech fall wins he has is against mid competition but anyone ranked top 15 it will be your typical Fix match like 4-2
What a move for John Smith to get the forfeit at 133 and still bump Fix up. The Mizzou coach has to have someone to throw in there.
Thanks for all the hard work getting this to us
Loving the octagon mat! So sick
You should not be allowed to wrestle if you need to wear a neck brace.
He pinned a top 15 guy Brett unfgar with a neck brace I think k he’s fine
lol Don’t be such a puxxx
@armanifryeowens5518 the point isn't 'is he safe' its more like 'is it fair' neck ties and what not
Yeah you can't get a hold on him. Shouldn't be allowed.
@@armanifryeowens5518no one cares who he pinned he shouldn’t be wearing that
Why are the college refs making terrible calls so consistently in every dual?
Smitty has OSU kicking ass!!
Newest headgear with added neck protection
Yea tell me about it dude. I've never seen anything like that and I've been a wrestling fan for over 40 years!
OSU is a great duel team this year. Let's see how they do in March. Mizzou got rocket and barely eeked out the heavyweight win.
Bernie Truax and Plott will be a good matchup. Truax can definitely beat Plott. If they were to have a dual I'd have Penn State winning a close 20-15 dual over OK State.
ref missed the backpoints in 125 lb match. I had 3-4 swipes counted in my head. That's fuckin bullshit
That neck brace is doing less than nothing.
Showing replays while they’re actually wrestling is hilarious
Fix is so entertaining to watch when he doesn't stall
I feel like with 125 the lower seed you are the more likely you are to win.
I can’t believe this is the quality of production they charge $100 to watch.
Why did Missouri forfeit at 133 ?
Rather take the forfeit or Fix bonus or pinning a guy? Better to have Fix wrestle up a class and have a manageable score if I’m Mizzou coach.
@@jessiebedlam6094 Oklahoma state gets 6 points for the forfeit- that’s the same and pinning a Missouri wrestler. I don’t understand why Missouri didn’t send any guy out there who can try at least not to get pinned
@@Coffee993 got me then. Poor coaching decision is best I can figure. Another option was no available wrestler at that weight due to injury/illness? 🤷♂️
Should have tried a Frog Double.
Whats with the neck brace/roll thing
Ya got ME dude! I've been a wrestling fan for over 40 years (since I was in high school) and this is the first time I've ever seen anything like that!
@@retroguy9494 same here. Not providing much immobility during a college wrestling match i imagine
team score?
How are you expected to pin someone in a neck brace?
Fix is lucky he didn't get a stalling call at the end ..
Should have gotten a stall call but as we know officials have been on their A game this season lol
This ref was garbage. I’m not a fan of anyone i just like wrestling. In the first match he called stalemate just as Spratley was gaining control for a TD. Then in the 2nd Ida called control for Surtin when he had a cradle at the end of the period. Then Surtin would get 3 nearfall at the start of the 3rd and let them wrestle, as it looks like Spratley is about to get a reversal, but again he calls a stalemate. Dude missed and killed all the action.
I can't stand when wrestlers don't stay gritty. Olejnic never attempted 1 offensive move the entire match. You're already points down. Just try something against the #1 ranked, you're going to lose anyway. What do you have to lose. Maybe he was afraid of getting stuck.
Stop saying Sudden Victory. It sudden DEATH
Another sign of a softening society afraid of the word “death.” 🙄
Fix is the best boring wrestler I have ever seen.
MORE COLLEGE DUALS
Between challenges and official reviews, they have added an hour to a meet. It is more like soccer or basketball players always whining. Next, they will be falling over, claiming mystery 😮fouls.
Put a time limit on review like blood time or injury time.
honestly, just make a push out a point.
Is Surtin wrestling with a broken neck??
Not a cradle, in the Surtin match. Geez.....
Let’s go!
Neck brace during the match, 4 points for back exposure, 3 points for takedowns, guys wearing full lumberjack beards. What is going on with collegiate wrestling.🤔
Maybe it's going the way of high school wrestling. I can't believe they did away with the hair length regulation that was in place since like the 1930's. Now you have guys with hair like dust mops that literally looks like they're dusting the mat when they get in certain positions.
And don't even get me started on girls wrestling guys! I'm a wrestling fan for over 40 years and I never thought I'd see THAT! Can you imagine if that starts to happen in the NCAA?
@@retroguy9494 well to be fair in high school, you have to be clean-shaven and can’t even really have stubble… And your hair can only go down so far before you have to either cut it, or wear a skullcap… At least in Kansas high school wrestling
@@retroguy9494 Women's wrestling in the NCAA🤔 Already in NAIA
@@trismegistus3744 I did not mean women in their own divisions where they wrestle each other. I meant where women actually wrestle guys in the SAME divisions.
@@ChunkyLover420 Well, I've never heard of that with the long hair and skullcap. From what I've heard and read, the hair length requirement was totally done away with a couple years back over just ONE incident which actually happened in MY state.
There was a black wrestler with those dreadlocks. Just prior to his match, the official told him his hair was too long and he either had to cut off the dreadlocks or forfeit his match. He chose to cut his hair right on the side of the mat. For the record, his hair WAS in violation of the rules.
As is happening so much in this country today, there was major backlash from blacks, even black pro athletes crying discrimination and racism because the official was white and those dreadlocks are somehow supposed to be a part of 'African American culture.' Our ultra liberal governor weighed in and then our ultra liberal attorney general suspended the ref from officiating for two years, and said that all referees, coaches and athletic administrators in all high school sports across the state must undergo implicit bias training. Wrestling officials also would be trained about hair discrimination.
Due to this, other schools around the country panicked and the hair length regulation was eliminated. I just don't understand why people are so afraid of people who only make up 11% of the population. In my opinion, rules and rules, they apply to ALL wrestlers and you can either comply with them or just not wrestle. I also think some of these wrestlers look like circus clowns with the way they are wearing their hair these days.
Honestly one of the most boring wrestling videos I’ve ever seen. I understand these guys are some of the best in the nation, but a lot of the Missouri wrestlers just didn’t take enough chances. 125 the guy at least tried but for the most part it was very boring nearly every match hardly any takedowns or back points.
Mizzu is so out of shape.
Wow, so glad Sertin lost. That neck brace is ridiculous
Neck brace off. Wtf
Damn Missouri looked awful lmao
lol 4:45
Changes to officiating rules allowed for officials to impact matches. Officials by nature are control freaks. The rules need to be cut and dried with no room for officials to manipulate.
🍼
Fix wrestled like garbage.
Who would’ve thought… Another dual with straight up garbage officiating. We gotta be better than this bc these kids work too hard for the refs to ruin a match for them 🙏🏼
Fix needs to up his game.
Or get smoked again at NCAAs
