good guide ko, I'm actually thinking to fix mine too, the lights are off. So I guess in my case I just need to change the light bulb.

Hi, thank you for this useful video. I have a question, is your range hood ducted or recirculating? It seems that your range hood has a duct outlet, but I didn't see any ducting when you replace it. Do you use charcoal filter on your range hood? Thank you very much.
Hello, sorry for the late reply. Yes, you're right, we don't have the ducting pipe behind the kitchen cabinet. I was surprised too when I removed the old rangehood. I called the builder who built our house, and he said that the steam / smoke from cooking will go straight to the attic, and it should leave the house through a small chimney they installed on our roof. I hope this info helps.

I can’t seem to find many options out there that will hide the vent under the cabinet without making holes in the ceiling.

what about ducting, you havn't done any thing on ducting part, looks you installed it without it ?
That's why they have the electrical socket punched out in the wall cavity, 2 for 1😉 builders option 👍, fumes have to go somewhere 🤣🤣🤣
Hi DYI, have you installed a ductless ZEPHYR Stainless Steel trim* w/ Glass model # ZPI-E24AG290 or a similar one? I need a ductless RECIRCULATING Fan... I just saw another one and the brand name BROAN model # PM300SS. I only have 6" in space to hang it. If you get this message, please let me know. Thanks Yvonne

Our range hood died with an electrical fault after just 7 years and it managed to *melt* (not kidding, it melted) the safety switch. 🤬That meant no power except for a couple of 15A circuits I had installed so we had heating and cold fridge and freezer in the middle of winter. Why do major electrical issues always seem to occur once the sun goes down?
When I installed the new range hood I discovered what a crap job the builder did installing the failed on and I am surprised it hadn't fallen out. Also found there was no flu installed and they had just punched a hole in the plaster and didn't even cut a hole in the top plate for it to vent into the roof space. *N o t H A P P Y Jan!* 😡

Hi mate my rangehood fan is noisy and spin slowly can i do just only the fan?
There must be a grease built up in the fan box. Try opening the fan compartment and remove the grease.

just learned that there are retractable range hoods
will replace tomorrow and going to save 300$ . oh no it's surpriseing labour cost👨🔧
