- Strauss Jr.'s most famous composition . . . Brahms wrote the 1st four bars of the theme to another member of the Strauss family seeking his autograph . . . And below he wrote: "not, alas, by Johannes Brahms" Enjoy!
Now it is 12 years since this was uploaded - and I join in with Mr. Mojiun's comment 2 years ago: I have never seen and heard a more impressive and beautiful version of this amazing waltz before. Simply superb!

I don't actually remember how I learned this as this became part of my repertoire when I was less than 10 years old. BUT ... Probably two bars at a time ... Like most other pieces!!!

i dont like it when people dislike a music piece because it is played at an advanced level, if you cant play it just admire and look for the extremely basic version which can be played by one right hand

I have first heard this piece of music when I was 7 years old and growing up in Holland....At that time I was too little to know it was the Blue Danube but I have never forgotten it. Now I am 64 and I have never any waltz that I thought was more beautiful than the Blue Danube....Every time I hear the Blue Danube, I think about the tulips and snow in Holland....my favorite memories and the Blue Danube....thank you Johann Strauss for composing this extraordinary piece of music...I bow to you for this beautiful waltz.....Kanya Choonit

wow this is amazing. i used to play the piano but had not practiced for a long time. my mother is a piano teacher. i also used to play this but not anymore. my fingers are rusty now. ;) got busy with other stuffs,,

@alxk88 I got it from a Strauss Anthology: "Johann Strauss, his greatest hits." This one is rather large and, as yet unscanned so I would prefer you go to the Petrocullio Music library and get it, or buy the book. If all else fails get back to me and I will do it.
