I don't know how I ended up on your videos but they are very well made 👍🏼👍🏼💯💯 The problem with me is me. I got all tangled up with all of those instructions and measurements. You are an excellent instructor👍🏼👍🏼💯💯
-If you have to use a line level, make sure you put it in the middle of the line only. It will give you a bad reading if it is used at one end or the other. -Only use a line level if there is just no other alternative or if accuracy is not that critical. -The 3-4-5 right triangle is a carpenter/layout man’s best friend. It works because of the Pythagorean theorem - A²+B²=C². - ‘C’ is always the hypotenuse. It works with any numbers you might have. 3-4-5 just happens to work very neatly.
8:02 Great video! But aren't you possibly making the whole thing a bit unlevel again when you start banging more nails down into these boards once they were initially set? I would imagine using screws here would be more ideal, as not to bang your boards unlevel setting up these follow up nails. At 8:39 you can actually see this happening :) that's why I commented.
Pro tip. Get braided line not twisted. If you get twisted it’ll come apart as you’re using it. The braided lines hold up much better and won’t spin apart when you’re using it as a plumb bob
The stuff I forget when I don't do it often. Awesome video.
Excellent! Thank you for the simple “how to do” approach in using string line to achieve great accuracy!

so the diagonal is 14.14”... how do you convert that to 16th of an inch?
Its 14.14 ft, so, 14 ft .14x12 for inch which is 1.68, 14ft, 1.68 inch, .68x16 for fractions, 10.88, round up to 11, sooo… 14ft 1in 11/16
Like everything else I’ve noticed the quality of the string has gone to crap, cheap and worthless, breaks too easily.
