Jonathan Majors is a PHENOMENAL actor. I didn't hate this movie, but he didn't feel right in this. I loved him in Loki. People didn't watch Lovecraft Country, but that was some of his best work. I'd love for ya'll to react to it, but it's a few years old and only had one season. Sucks because it was truly a top-tier show.
Unfortunately, his personal life was whack, which can usually adversely affect your professional life. Everybody deserves their day in court, but allegations will make you lose work in the movie industry.
I've been a fan of Ant-Man since 1987 and Kang the Conqueror since 1993, so seeing them come to life on the big screen was fantastic. Quantumania captured that sense of wonder and epic scale while maintaining the heart and humor the Ant-Man series is known for. It also drew inspiration from beloved classics like Alice in Wonderland, Barbarella, Dune, Flash Gordon, Heavy Metal, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Thor: Ragnarok, The Wizard of Oz, and Journey to the Center of the Earth, which added to the fun. I've watched all the Ant-Man films, and if Quantumania didn't resonate with you, that's fine. But for me? It was an absolute thrill. I'm all about the characters, the storyline, and the adventure.

For clarity on what happened with Jonathan Majors. Jonathan didn’t plead guilty to the 2 serious charges of intentional assault and aggravated harassment. They threw a reckless assault charge on him all because he supposedly hurt her finger to get his phone back. And it isn’t illegal to use force to retrieve your property in NY. And they gave him the harassment charge in the form of a city ticket because he put his attacker back in the car. The civil suit his ex had filed against him was dropped recently too. Regardless of the likelihood of it, I truly wish he could come back as Kang. He’s a phenomenal actor and person
I don't think anyone said anything about Guardians 3 is that it was so good no one wanted to spoiler it. Also the Guardian's of the Galaxy Christmas Special takes place before Guardians 3, so you should react that first! (or after, if it's too late, it's worth it, a fun time.)
When Kang says "you're not the one with the hammer" there's a theory that he's talking about captain America. He recognizes antman suit and cap was wearing a similar suit but white when he traveled back in time to put the stones back in endgame and he had thors hammer. So it's believed at some point he met captain America and killed him
Guardians 3 was really awesome.... don't know why people didn't get excited. I really liked it and I think you guys will like it too. And I agree - Kang is a great villain but too bad we lost him so soon. They might recast but I haven't heard anything? But yeh Quantumania was pretty good, but if I compare it to first Dr Strange movie they could have taken the visuals and the concepts waaaaay more freaky than they did. They could have had super super freaky visuals which blew us away, but they didn't really do anything too "marvelous" even when they had the chance too, which is a pity. Because a film with a budget of 350 million dollars should have at the least decent CGI. M.O.D.O.K.s CGI was wretched. This is what happens when you overwork/overstress your visual effects contractors. Low pay compared to the industry, not enough time to complete the projects on time due to massive amounts of reshoots which is the norm for Disney these days. All of this leads to VFX firms refusing to work with Disney anymore. So now you get substandard CGI from VFX companies which are not up to the task as a result. Good Job Bob Iger! SMH.

This too-much-CGI movie blows on SO many levels... and its become glaringly obvious Marvel is on life-support brain dead now that Stan Lee has passed away - the only scripts that have done well since Lee's passing are the one's taken right from storylines Lee wrote & illustrated himself partially with help of his team of artists. These Disney Marvel films do not kick the same kinds of ass that those early MCU films did and still do.
So originally the next Avengers movie which is in phase 6 (y'all just started phase 5 with Quantumania) was going to be called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but after the low box office of this movie and the Jonathan Majors situation, the character was sadly dropped and they're pivoting to an alternate universe Doctor Doom and its gonna be called Avengers: Doomsday.
IMO, this movie could be fun in small doses. The only thing I really hated about this movie was MODOK. Not only they bring back the forgettable villain from the first Ant-Man movie, but they made MODOK so creepy, ugly looking and horrifying. I don’t like or enjoy looking at MODOK. Ant Man And The Wasp Qauntumania was different from the first two films because Marvel tried to set up Avengers Kang Dynasty in this film and it didn’t work well. What I don’t like about this film is Janet character development in film is too slow, Cassie is too boring and they put The Big Badass Villain in film and killed him. They should put a variant of Kang like put He Who remain or Victor Timely in Loki and Kang The Conqueror should put in the Avengers film. Otherwise Modok would be awesome if they made him from another character not made from Villain in previous movie and made him more scarier.

Movie makes no sense. From the way MODOK talks about the possibility storm and core, he's at least been down there and knows how it works, couldn't he just fly and grab the core for Kang? Or why not make more Pym Particles for Kang? He knows how to make them. Everything in the Quantum Realm should still retain all the necessities to make them and shrink the core. Did he not want to help Kang? Kang's tech is centuries beyond anybody also, so he should be a smart man. So it should be easy to do. Or why not make a robot without a mind and grab the core? If this Kang is the worst variant of himself and the smartest why can't he figure out how to escape if he's been stuck down there? Why not just stay in the shadows until the Ant-Man and his team were about to leave and then secretly delete them and steal their stuff and escape? Or just trick them with illusion tech or something by pretending you're not Kang and then steal their stuff and escape? Or ask nicely to go with them? Or go when they first rescued Janet? Makes no sense to reveal himself. He's pretty stupid. Other variants of himself sent him down there but along with his multi-traversable ship is stupid. Why can't he just make another core for it. If he built it with Janet he should remember how to make another one. If time is different couldn't future Kang rescue his past self from banishment? If time worked differently just like with how the ants became super intelligent within a few hours why didn't he age or get any smarter? And why the variants banish him and not delete him if he's so dangerous?
Kang wasn't interesting in this movie in the slightest nor was the rest of the movie interesting. Literally the best part about it was the Bill Murray cameo and you only see his character for a short while at the beginning of the movie and he never turns up again.
