For me, the W-59 is the best Casio currently available. Flat, simple, cheap, retro and waterproof to at least 50m. And regarding the poor light: if it is too dark to read the display, then it is bright enough to read the display.
I agree. People who are complaining about the backlight are trying to use it in twilight. If you're in a room where it's pitch black the light works perfectly. I can even read the seconds.
Wish they'd put in a second light like the AE1200 (Royale). I actually prefer the Royale's lighting to any illuminator. The amber color reminds me of old school street lights that no longer exist - hits the nostalgia button. And it's plenty bright coming in from both sides.
Hi, bro! I probably have the same taste for watches as you do. I wear Casio A-168 all the time, and when I play sports and go on a trip, I wear Casio W-59. I realized that I had found the perfect balance for myself. I don't need any more watches! The blue, yellow and red color in the watch is mega cool, and most importantly it looks very interesting. A lot of people pay attention to such watches.
That is the exact same combination I used to wear before getting into analog watches not so long ago. I wore the A-168 nearly every day for 10 years untill it nearly lost all chrome on the edges turning it kinda rose gold.
A super watch! As I wrote before, mine is waiting in its Amazon parcel to be filmed during an unboxing. I share practically all your opinions on the w-59 (I already have a version of it, an all-black with nato strap) and I’m looking forward to finally putting it on my wrist! Thanks for this video!
Very very nice analysis, sir. It is rare that reviewers talk about what makes them feel happy, intimately. This watch looks awesome, I agree it feels more premium than the f91, and for me the 168 which I have feels too small. For sweaty summers and travels I would definitely pick a w59 after having seen your review. Thanks again. Very very nice work!
Glad You enjoyed it. I make the Videos I would have loved to have, when I was seeking Advice. The Internet can be loud, noise, clickbaity and doomed. But It's also a great Tool to connect and Share! Have a great Day Lycan! I love my A168...But lately I am wearing more Traditional Watches... but the W-59 and the W86 are my daily ´s!
I was actually watching a timeline on Casio website. If I'm not mistaken this watch came out in 1989 and it's the oldest model still in production. I think that says it all.
Hello my brother, a hello from Brazil. Could you help me with a dillema i am having? I come from a long series of deception of smartwatchesl. Since they brake way to easily in a day to day basic use. About the Casio w59 is he a durable watch? I mean, his watchface and band wrist are able to resist, at least, the seven years?
You will be lucky to get between 2-3 years with a Casio rubber strap, they always seem to go brittle and start to crack before they completely break, if you are looking for a similar watch try one with a metal strap such as the Casio A163WA-1QES or the Casio A158WA-1DF, the straps on these Casio will out live the battery of the watch, mine is 12 years old and still going strong with the same battery, these Casios are built like tanks and are very comfortable and light to wear.
I'm waiting for mine . Love G-Shocks DW, but aren't comfy wearing long sleeves. That lame side lighting on these W-59, well, let's think about it as a retro feature , that keeps the model true to its era 🤷🏽♂️
It has gone from THIS WATCH IS OBSOLETE to one of my most, if not the Most Worn watches. Its that good. I miss the EL...or the Orange light other Casios have. Still. Its THE WATCH!

Its Great. And hey, at least it has a backlight!

@@silvervisage5096 It works. A Casio EL works Better. But It works also better than most Lume on Non Digital Watches. It has it's Charm.
Agreed

Yes....we found our Way. I would write more, but I am working on something right now... but know that your response is much appreciated!

Glad you enjoyed it. Can't wait to see and hear your opinion on it.
I have one of these, it's like the F91W, it wears small on my wrist but it's a nice little watch to have in my collection.I like it's retro 80s design
Thanks for the video review - W59 is a very desirable Casio!
Clad I could help. Again I disregarded this Watch for a long Time. I was wrong. Its Really Good.

I used to have one of these sometime in the 80s.
And They did not AGE a DAY. 38 Years later still relevant and kick ass!

Nice! I'm glad you like the watch, that is the most important thing. For me I would need the EL backlight, so I would probably go for the F-105W.
Yeah I know that Need for the EL Backlight. I know that. But this Watch is sooo good that even with the Subpaar light it makes me happy.
it reminds me alot of the now vintage w24 that i received in 1984.
Those are the BEST ONES!
I can't handle the fact the W-59 display is not central in the watch. I want to love it like the F-91W but just can't.
And for me its Perfect! Pure Perfection! Cinemascope!
Dario do you have a link to your art channel?
Type in Darios Comics SChool, Or Endtimes TCG. Both English and German Channel should Pop up. And Darios Tabletop.

It's a great One!

The light is a joke 😂 But I'll be keeping mine anyway 👍
It not an EL... but It can do its Job. At least it has a light^^
Very nice!
It is!
This is the one I aspire most to have. But it's unavailable in Bangladesh
Try getting it form Europa! A great Watch.

Checking.... 30s fast...but I guess, last time I changed it was 2 month ago?
