    You've mentioned many good points about the Medley, and no bad points, so your son's derogatory "hair dryer" comment makes him look a bit of a pillock! Glad you're back.

      Hi Peter, thanks for watching my video and for the nice comments.
      The Medley is certainly great fun, not breath taking but at our age we don’t need that. Ride safe 👍

      Apparently I'm not the only pensioner that's looking for a scooter, especial the Piaggio Medley. Looks to me very easy to get on, easy to read screen, great under seat storage space, power full engine (almost 15hp) and the option of a wind screen and top box... enjoy your ride and ride safe

    I've had 71 mph out of mine. At that speed it started occasionally cutting out. There may be a rev limiter on it. Also , when I open the petrol cap there is a rush of air. Not sure if it is rushing out or rushing in. ( Which may indicate a blocked vent hole in the cap). Anyone else experiencing this?

    • @BikeMates
      @BikeMates  Год назад

      Yes I would imagine it has a rev limiter fitted to stop the engine blowing up.
      I also get the same rush noise when I remove my petrol cap, I assumed it was where the fuel was expanding and causing a build up of pressure. Pretty sure it’s not due to the vent being blocked as mine has only done 900 miles so far.

      71 mph 😱 that's quite fast for a 125cc scooter let alone a learner legal (17) CBT scooter and I believe having a rev limiter at 70 will make the engine last longer than say a Yamaha MT125 that can do 80 mph but possibly damage the engine in the process. I took a 2007 honda cg125 from Bristol to London along the motorway (full license) pinned at 65mph all the way there and back did this twice and about a month later it started to burn a tiny bit of oil and weep the tiniest amount of oil from the engine block so in my opinion scooters are the way to go if you don't want to worry about maintenance or damage as they usually have safeguards built-in ! That being said the best automatic you can buy has to be the Honda NC750X dual clutch transmission but you'll need a full license for that one !

    Have you looked into the suzuki Bergmann? Decent 400 plus scooters. Oh and FYI I bloody LOVE my cbr250r. Best bike I've ever ridden

    • @BikeMates
      @BikeMates  Год назад +1

      Yes I have checked out the Bergman but it’s quite bulky and I’m restricted with fitting the scooter down a narrow alley for overnight storage, so I slim scooter like the Piaggio is ideal.
      I used to love my old cbr250r nice and light and loads of fun.

      @@BikeMates I enjoyed my medley, great scooter. I moved to a Beverly 300 because I commute from a small village in Italy with distances from 20 to 30 Km and the 125 missed a bit of power to travel comfortably. Thanks for the reply, wish you a great summer.

    Hi mate, I am looking to get this bike. I wanted to ask about what camera you have is it a helmet camera and watrerproof? I want one incase someone drives into me, then I would have proof of the accidnet. I am 40 and it is my first ever vehicle on the road, I worry about other road users. Be greatful if you had any information. I just want to set it to record every single time and then re wipe each ride if nothing happens , so that one time god forbid something happend, I am covered - unless im dead lol. Thanks in advance mate, great videos also, I have subbed.

      Hello mate, the Piaggio Medley is a great little scooter and does all I want it to.
      As for the camera I’ve got a GoPro 5 mounted on my chin which is great for doing my videos and also as you pointed out for everyday riding. Mine came in very handy when I got rear ended and seriously injured to prove it wasn’t my fault.
      Hope this helps and ride safe
