Translated by Google: One thing I forgot The music splatoon 3 in the games is another thing that makes it extremely addictive with powerful rift guitars from the rock -something that doesn't happen with other multiplayer shooting games that is mute because of the war environment that is boring. I am a player who enjoyed the fact that multiplayer games have music to give him excitement and energy because without music he doesn't give me energy.
I actively talk about how the numerous problems make me not like Splatoon 3. And then I proceed to play Splatoon 3 for multiple hours EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Literally me yesterday I LOST MY SALMON RUN EVP TWICE WHY??? BECAUSE I KEPT DISCONNECTING AND IT STILL COUNTS AS LOSSES. But here I am still playing. I'm suffering help me
I actually tried to play Splatoon 2 in grayscale mode in the past as a challenge, which highlights the reason for the contrasting team colors in the first place. Some team colors I just could not tell apart.
Luckily Nintendo implemented a great feature in the game that prevent players from playing too much! It's called latency! The great thing about latency is, that it will make you so mad, that you ask yourself: "What's even the point of playing this game, when I get mad every single time?". And so you put the game down for a few days and then try to play it again, because the gameplay itself is very fun. And then the same thing happens and you put the game down for another few days, so on and so forth.
You also forgot the badge system Example: Remember the tricolor badges? Who here was trying to get the 10 tricolor win badge in one single fest while they were rare?
Badges are a big part of what keeps me playing Splatoon 3, personally. Being able to flex your achievements in the form of in-game customization and trophies is a really good way to keep people coming back to a multiplayer game, (which is also a reason I generally don't find myself having as long of sessions on heavily monetized games, since most of the stuff in those is bought, not earned.) I might not play Splatoon 3 all the time, but when I do, those sessions are really long, as I'm always thinking about what my locker will look like with holo-stickers of all my favorite weapons plastered onto it, or how nice my splashtag would look with a badge of my favorite salmon run boss-
Honestly I agree with your point that since it’s usually a short match I’ll just playa mother round. I do this in the morning when I’m done getting ready for school and will still have 20 minutes to spare. I’ve missed the bus twice because of how caught up I was in a match
The one more game syndrome is actually true for me, ha ha. Plus the badges are lovely, keep many individuals invested into the title. Me on the other hand will agree it is heavily addicting and at my age I have to sever myself from it cold blooded.
This video is awesome! I love the editing and humor 😂 For the future, I would say though if the video is all speculation or if there is psychological proof behind the color theory / Tik Tok effect
Great video! The part in the beginning with the talking octoling was so clever XD. For me, the first point is the selling point. I like that I can move fast, play a fast weapon, and see results fast! Even the victory screen feels extremely short. That along with all the dynamic movement on screen makes you forget the time investment that is compounding. It's like shorts or tiktok in a way.
Well made video, I agree with all your points especially regarding the average length of matches compared to Cod, Halo, and other shooter games. Your editing is a lot better now and the transitions were well thought out. Also what do you run for Squiffer? The weapon is really underrated in this meta, yet it's my favorite weapon and I use it mainly in anarchy and sometimes x battles.
I wish I can play 8 hours per day, but it’s very hard to play longer because I’m the adult, and I take mental health breaks, also do not like SR much, because I don’t trust freelance, also Series Matchmaking is bad rn, I cannot reach S+. (Hope they match me with my Skill Level). That's why Splatoon 2 is not better than 3, because Splatoon 2 is not my Splatoon game.
Exactly same situation here (except I love SR). The solution for me was not giving a damn about points or 'commitment' to stay competitive or something, just playing. After all it's a game I will never earn anything from and eventually quit like every single game I've played in my life obviously. Surprisingly, I ended up improving and winning a lot. Hope you enjoy this game!
I decided to go test if you were right about the colours and music and you were spot on. I could barely stand one match without any colour or music, it was surreal how different it felt
I feel so called out.. ;-; A few nights ago I was playing Splatoon at 3 am and when I was about to quit, I lost and went "I don't wanna quit on a lost." I ended up playing until 7 am cuz I had multiple lose streaks and I eventually gave up and played Salmon Run + Tableturf battle instead
the catalog...gotta unlock it, need to get it all, gotta play more, why am I only this far, oh no we're in the 3rd month so I reeeaaallllly gotta grind now, ok finally got it taken care of...THE NEW ONE IS STARTING?! well here we go again!😂
"Whew! I finally got the 3rd slot on this gear! Intensify Action? Neat! Well, time to call it a day... Huh, I wonder how fast I can swim up walls now. One (ten) more game(s)."
I have never played a splatoon game as frequently as splat3, I only racked up 375 in splat2 over the games lifespan. However I already have 360 in splat3-
I seriously cant get like more than 2 hours of play since like I dont get addicted to splatoon. I would love to get addicted so I can play, but right now splatoon isnt a lot of fun. It is fun, yes, but I dont have the will to play.
1:10 Translated by Google: I tell you the truth, 20, 30 or 45 minutes is a too long and boring cycle because you feel the games stretch out into infinity in an artificial way.
one could argue, battle replay takes a player OUT of the game... since theyre watching a replay and not actively playing the game. its like watching RUclips on your swtich. are you really playing your switch at that point? sadly, theres only around 15 different badges. the bulk of the badges are the same task just with a different kit, not exactly "content" but other shooters do the same thing but with better rewards. idk i WANT to like splat 3 but it really is a repeat of splat 2, just slightly less worse. i love a grind, dont get me wrong. but for what? splat just doesnt offer rewards worth my grind, even most of the gear you get is crap gear with 1 slot for a chunk. there are tons of things "wrong" with splat 3, just as there were with splat 2. not having native voice chat, no friend system or buddy system in game to make doing literally anything with your friends not a chore. the game itself does not offer much over splat 2 and feels like its not enough for a brand new price tag. yes it is 60 dollar DLC, yes to some people that is worth it and to others its worth complaining about but at the end of the day, splat 3 really is splat 2.5. there simply isnt enough content to keep people playing for very long, hence why splatfests are required and more rewards are given during those events due to the normal game being such a dry and boring grind for seemingly nothing. completely ironing out 3 team turf game mode would have been such an amazing and easy thing for them to add to make it worth it but they were lazy and barely put together normal maps, let alone get creative for 3 team exclusive maps. i mean i have 1 word that would change my mind. pants. pants would have been a lovely addition to the game. hell, even i would have been happy with an end-game goal like completing all challenges for weapon class and you get a final weapon in that class where you choose the secondary ability from a list, kind of like how you would assign a chunk to a gearset. the story mode was even a copy of what we already got in splat 2+DLC. i can see more of the argument that splat 3 is splat 2.5 than the other way around. which isnt a bad thing, were all still playing splat 3 and enjoying it. being splat 2.5 was never meant to be a bad thing for splat 3. we all loved splat 2. we just wanted more of a splat 3. but what keeps me playing isnt whats bad or could be better in the future, its the fact that people are actually playing it and for once i feel like splat has a future. yes the basic gameplay is addictive, shoot some goo and paint the map. advanced gameplay is addictive. music is addictive. in-game/in-app shopping is addictive. sense of community is addictive albeit limited. honestly most of my complaints boil down to the inability to be a part of the community outside of drawing a picture, picking team whatever, or topping some leaderboard. i want to be able to chat, make friends and be able to splat it up whenever wherever with people who just want to do the same. TLDR: Much Splat. Many good. Some bad.
Question of the Day: How many hours do you currently have in Splatoon 3?
over 500. That’s at least 20 days. *IM INSANE.*
445 hours which is a lot and yet there are some people with thousands of hours already which is insane to me
I have around 295 hours, with friends I play like 2-3 hours. On my own I last like 30mins 😅
390
610 Hours, because of mental health breaks, and I don’t like Salmon Run.

I felt this addiction with the first 2 games, but not anymore. The servers took a toll on my bias towards Splat 3
Not for me
So true the main reason why I play 3 is because more people play it
There's no servers, only p2p. Get a wired connection, set up your MTU correctly and get NAT TYPE A set up too. Makes it a thousand times better.
@StarmenRock that's not going to do anything for 99% of the people you play with using McDonald's wifi.

Squiffer has really bad kit. One of the worst in the whole game actually.
Squiffer’s kit is not that bad. Bubbler can be used selfishly or aggressively and point sensors can reveal sharks.
Despite the game only taking 5 minutes every time I join one i then realize I have to do chores or something and try to rush through the match
I think that the customization plays a huge role as well, lockers, clothing choices, and banners just add so much more to it than other games.

I’m glad so many of these issues are fixed
I have been addicted to splatoon for all of last year, since the day it came out

great video!!
Splatoon 3 is so damn addictive! And I love it!
the shell out machine is the reason im going to sell my life away to casinos

4:20 Perfect example. Mozzarella sticks are so dang addicting 😋
You bring a lot of good points here. Really good video. I will subscribe to you.
As a long time Splatoon player, all of your reasons for what makes this game so addictive is accurate af 👍
why do i see this video the moment I stopped playing splatoon all night
this video made some really interesting points
It is even addictive when not playing I was not listening to you and was watching the match’s
it didn't really grab me personally i sorta just got bored after i hit rank 50 or something i don't really remember
I have never played a splatoon game as frequently as splat3, I only racked up 375 in splat2 over the games lifespan. However I already have 360 in splat3-
Because every game is different 😂😂 you've earned a sub
Ima be honest played for like 2 hours after my 3 week break and immediately left. Haven't played the game since
I keep losing so I try to get a wining streak and when I do, I can’t stop 💀
Meanwhile I can’t be bothered to play much outside of splatfest and big run lol
You know what, Jazzy? You get the sub
820 on S3 and FOUR THOUSAND AND FIFTY FIVE ON S2
watching this i relised these were all reasons i keep playing
I seriously cant get like more than 2 hours of play since like I dont get addicted to splatoon. I would love to get addicted so I can play, but right now splatoon isnt a lot of fun. It is fun, yes, but I dont have the will to play.
This video is soooooo relatable

I quit for a while, like 3 months or 4. I play other games way more! I don't get games getting in my way with important things like schoolwork!!
What makes me want to throw my pro controller at the screen? Chargers
I felt that way at one point. Killer Wail 5.1 punishes them greatly.
