I have flown MH a few times in the last 18 months, BKK- KUL, and NRT - KUL. It has become my favorite airline. I wish they would serve the U.S., perhaps KUL - LAX or SFO. Don’t believe any airline serves Kuala Lumpur from the U.S. MH has the Airbus A-350… it has the range to fly this route.
MAS has a very strong appeal in Asia, as long as its product and reliability improve by 50% and the prices is no more than 50% of its other premium competitors, it will do very well.
❤❤ If you take away the service, all airlines are the same i.e. either Boeing or Airbus. Thank God Malaysia Airline's service is second to none. Its service is impeccable and I really love it...will always fly MAS. 😊

MAS has a very strong appeal in Asia, as long as its product and reliability improve by 50% and the prices is no more than 50% - 60% of its other premium competitors, it will do very well.
The greatest mistake for MAS as a national airline was appointing non Malaysians to head the airline to downgrade to compete with budget airlines. There is still a long way to go for MAS to upgrade it's image to a premium airline it once was in up to the mid 90's. Premium food doesn't cost much. Bring back the batik motifs on the seats
@@yhfhdcf Nonsense. Just a bit over a month ago, MAS was in deep trouble seeing all their engineers leaving. That cannot be solved in just a month. This will be a problem for years to come.
MH need to have a competitive product. To compete with the likes of SIA and the Gulf Carriers as he indicated will be very difficult. Their product is not considered premium in the market. To receive delivery of a new A330 Neo and not configured with an economy plus or premium ecconomy option is a huge mistake. It’s challenging road for MH. I see them as a regional airline similar to Garuda at best.
MAS has a very strong appeal in Asia, as long as its product and reliability improve by 50% and the prices is no more than 50% of its other premium competitors, it will do very well.
Bradley, MAS doesnt need to compete with sia/gulf or budget. It is the middle segment where it is perfect for business, leisure travelers who want to travel well (Better than budget but cheaper than the premium). For example, I can get business class in MAS for half the price in emirates but still very good quality
Never compare Mas with Sia/Gulf. Every Sia flight is an international flight which offers better margins vs Mas which has to provide national service subsidising loss making domestic routes
@gan247 because it's not possible to do it as a low cost airline. No one wants to sit on that tiny seat for more than 8 hours, let alone over 20 hours to US
@@the.mystictraveller no they don't. The codeshare doesn't mean anything. KLM is Sky Team, MAS is One World, there is no advantage or any benefit from booking MAS and fly with KLM. And the codeshare doesn't relate to any rights to land at Schiphol Airport.
@EGO0808 You do realise that joint cooperation has nothing to do with alliances? MH codeshares with Emirates for example. As well as other no alliance partners like SQ. In order for an airline to place their flight number on another carrier's aircraft they themselves must hold the rights to fly to that city.
Sorry to say, without the correct equipment, it won’t go far. The A330 Neo is not enough for MAS to penetrate back to Europe. Sadly the Foreign CEO AXED the formidable B777, thereby destroying MAS route network. The A350 that MAS has, is not capable of delivering the premium products that its CEO aspires. At this point of time only the B777-300ER is capable of such a task. It may be almost 30 years old and a fuel guzzler but there’s no other machine that can match it. Sadly the A330Neo is not even close.
the a330neo is part of its fleet renewal to replace the aging a330ceos in their fleet. the neo is not meant to be put for long haul flights as long as europe and america. plus mas plans to retrofit the a350s by 2026.
It is good to see that at least the ambition is there. But Malaysia Airlines is so far behind all those that they are competing with. With just London and Paris as their intercontinental destinations, they will never be able to compete with the likes of KLM, Lufthansa, Emirates, Qatar, Etihad and SIA. Step by step they might first want to improve their service on their current scheduled routes, increase their on time performance and hire and train a new fleet of engineers. It is laughable when a managing director toalks about premium, when the service is as bad as it is. Coming from a Platinum Enrich member of MAS.
Malaysia Airlines should just focus on Asia and Asia-Pacific. The airline shouldn't broaden their focus and ensure viable returns to profitability. The airline isn't out of the woods yet, and recently, flights have to return because of poor maintenence.
It's not about the crew but the management. And their bosses. And their paymasters. It was always a vanity project internationally. But you've got to know what 'premium' means and not be distracted by the bling.
Tak tahu kenapa banyak engineer cakap suka jaga A330 neo vs B737 walaupun saiz airbus 5x besar.. Ruang yang luas senang nak buat pemeriksaan. B737 memang sakit kepala asyik terhantuk jer 😂😂😂😂
Malaysia Airlines has a history of financial problems and difficulties, mainly due to many questionable internal control, bad management and corruption on top management of the company. Unfair and unattractive staff remuneration system has forced out many hardworking and talented workers of Malaysian Airlines to seek employment with Royal Brunei Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, to name a few... the recent acquisition of new Airbus A330 Neo will not help much should the above problems not solved as soon as possible.
