you should totally move the desk towards the window and the dresser where the desk is so you can enjoy the view and also make the space more functional.
I was thinking the same, only moving her bed under the window in like an "L" shape with her roommate and opening up the window view.

Thanks for the suggestion! We’ve tried different ways but the desk is built up tall with a back that would end up blocking even more of the window. We’re making it work 🌟

My mum always made my bed when I moved into university dorms or shared houses, whilst me and my dad did the heavy lifting as it were. My bed was amazing then I had to wash my bedding. Never as good for the rest of the year. My mum was a nurse back in the day and could do ‘hospital corners’; the sheets weren’t moving whatever happened

hi! im going to be moving from ca to ny this fall, and I'm flying there so i was wondering if you had any advice about bringing all of your stuff freshman year. I'm wondering if i should bring it all on the plane, ship it, or just buy most of it when i get there

I’m 13 and I’m starting highschool next year, it’s been my dream to go to nyu tisch since I was 7 and I honestly don’t care how many people tell me I shouldn’t waste my high school years only preparing for collage but it’s all I want to do, i feel like if I don’t get in I will die so my life of fun ends at the very start of grade 8. I’m getting in in to that school.

i understand you really wanna get in, but im a junior in high school right now, and i hope i can give a little bit of insight on this. i went into high school with a very similar attitude--only looking to nyu, bucknell, cornell, etc. etc.. nyu has been my dream school for years upon years, too--that and cornell.
dude, you can have fun in high school!! and still get good grades!! academics are not whats most important to universities and when you look back, youre going to want to look back fondly on your years!! take ap and dual credit classes you'll enjoy, get involved in extracurriculars that you enjoy, just *enjoy*--colleges and universities dont just want to see you get good grades. make sure to fluff up your resume with stuff you'll actually like to do!!
im in my junior year rn with straight As, in multiple dual credit courses (going to have a college semester done by the end of the year), and if i was just focusing on academics alone i would absolutely hate it. im on my schools quiz bowl team in which i play both junior varsity and varsity, in nhs, and i have a part time job. im also learning chinese and spanish. me having access to things outside of simply schoolwork is what lets me excel. and guess what, it works!! little ivies have been reaching out, as have other good institutions like baylor and dickinson.
basically; dont absolutely bog yourself down. make sure you focus on school work and academics but unless youre branching out and doing stuff outside of schoolwork, its more than likely your high school years are going to absolutely SUCK. enjoy it, because by enjoying it, youre going to get good grades. ik you've heard it so often but really, your high school years are going to fly by. look back on them fondly.

question each vacation, holidays for international students day need go back home ? I mean my cousin study at NYU Abu Dhabi and he needed each vacation back to Brazil.( for me is not worth it because i want to work and I don't gonna miss my family. those are just names that correspond with what year of college you’re in
1st year - freshman
2nd year - sophomore
3rd year - junior
4th year - senior

That dorm looks low key big... I’ve only seen like 5 dorms in my life but idk😂
So basically you took over the entire room knowing that sooner or later you’re going to have a roommate? Those rooms are very expensive so I said if you spreading everything out you should really be mindful that at any point in time you can get a roommate and you’re going to have to move your things and in terms of the closet that is supposed to be a shared closet
My stuff was all on my side as soon as she got there. Tahra’s also one of my best friends so ofc we talked over everything and I made sure she was good with whatever
What do you mean "took over the entire room" it was on her side of the room. They both have their desks and drawers. All she literally did was place stuff on HER desk and made HER bed 🤡
