What a cool looking car! Really nice looking church. Don't like it when a bridge is "not too reassuring" lol Incredible drone footage throughout. You deserve that pool time!
Didn't know anything about the castle and last episode when you mentioned this would be next, I'd just assumed it was a ruined castle so this was a lovely surprise - very cool reward for hiking up the hill! Loved the shot at the end of you diving into the pool. I've never been able to get a good transition from above to below water like that!
Yes I've got to admit that when I got to that partially locked gate I thought it may be some kind of abandoned castle, I thought I may have even taken a wrong turn somewhere! It was so hot getting up those steps but when I reached the top it was all worth it! The views were beautiful and it was an interesting place to look around. I'll let you into a little secret with the final scene, it was actually the second take! In the first one I was gripping the camera too tightly and must have pressed the record button mid dive and it cut out - couldn't believe it! Thanks for watching, I'm looking forward to your next video from the Broads!
@Matt Whiting's Europe I'd have had no idea with the last scene if you hadn't said! Very clever editing! Pleased you're looking forward to the next video from the Broads 🙏
The "church" you were facing at 3:20 is the Llotja. This remarkable piece of Gothic civil architecture was erected between 1426 and 1447, and it was a sort of market of the time, were traders assembled to sell their wares. Palma was already an important trading centre at that time, with ships from France, Spain, the Near East and Italy arriving daily to the port. On the dark side, it was also the most important slave market in the Western Mediterranean.. one out of four inhabitants was a slave. As a curious data, there wasn't ever water in the moat of Bellver castle, but sharp, metal spikes instead, very close together to run through any attacker who had the misfortune to fall in it. Royals only lived there occasionally, as the main Court of the Kings of Mallorca was in Perpinyà in present day France. Most of its History the castle served as prison for political prisoners. I hope you enjoyed your visit to my city and island. I think it's pretty. But then I suppose I am biased, being from there myself ;)
Thank you for the additional information Albert, very interesting. You certainly know your stuff!! I had a wonderful time on the island and really enjoyed my stroll around the city. I'd love to go back at some point in the future as I've got a feeling there's plenty more to explore! If you've got any suggestions of places I could visit on a future trip I'd love to hear them.
@@MattWhitingsEurope Hi, you are welcome. I would suggest that you tour the northern mountains, the Serra de Tramuntana. There are some really beautiful sights if you like the sea, and pretty quaint villages such as Deià, Sóller, Valldemossa, Fornalutx.. especially Deià and Valldemossa, they are beautiful.
That pool must have felt great with that heat. I spent a year in Djibouti. Up to 54c plus humidity but I still get it. I've never taken heat well so 30c still sounds hot.
It's impossible to put in to words how good it felt ha! I'd been looking forward to it since leaving the castle - think I got a little dehydrated hiking up that hill! Wow 54c, that's intense! I think I got to 50c once in Death Valley - it was a killer! Djibouti sounds like an interesting place - I don't know too many people who have been there, that heat must have been impossible to deal with? Thanks for watching Heidi.

Thanks very much Albert, you always get the best tips from a local!
