    A little tip. When multiplying radicals, you can combine the results of all factor trees. This allows you to find all pairs with minimal calculations. Evaluating the two factor trees @22:15 we can see a pair of 3s and a pair of 2s, a 5 and a 7. This gives us 6 * the sqrt of 35.

    For all those wondering when rationalizing the denominator, I crossed out 3 to thesquare root of 30/square root of 6 times the square root of 6/6 and got the same answer. Surprised my man jason who loves crossing out asap didn't do this.

    You do have a choice of combining the prime number from 30 and 42 at video time 22:00 minute instead of multiplying it to a big number, do this...30 prime is 2.3.5 and 42 prime is 2.3.7 pull pair 2.3.(5.7)=6(35) easier.

    • @MathAndScience
      @MathAndScience  5 лет назад +6

      Hi! A radical is just the word we use for that square root symbol. Its the check mark looking thing - that is called a radical. You can also call it the square root symbol, but then you need something to call the cube root symbol, etc. So we use the word "radical" to describe any of those.

    When you solve why do you put a big bracket [ in front of the answer?

    • @MathAndScience
      @MathAndScience  4 года назад +1

      Its just how I circle my answer. I prefer to do that instead of circling the answer because when the answer is really big then my circle is enormous - so I just put a bracket to indicate the final answer.

    • @MathAndScience
      @MathAndScience  4 года назад +3

      Kayla I used to be just like you - so lost. Please view the lesson again and work the problems with me. After you see me work the problem, get your own pencil and work it yourself, repeating the same steps I took. After a while you will start to get confidence. Then go from there. It seems so scary because you most likely have a rocky foundation. You might need to back up and go over more basic material. But don't just watch - you need to DO the math - then you will start to understand - I promise.
