Foden has never been a player who controls games. He is a fantastic player in a supporting role. Playing with KDB he flourishes but by himself he cant influence games. He needs to play alongside a midfield general.
@@geronimo9595 last season KDB missed a total of 41 games and it was foden who stepped into his shoes with 27 goals and 12 assists in all competitions. He had such a big influence that he was voted player of the season. He has not been that good this season, I think all the criticism at the Euros knocked his confidence then he had his appendix out and the birth of his child have all added to a slow start this season.
This is what has always annoyed me about all the plaudits Foden gets. It's not that he's not a talented player, he's immensely talented. But he has never in his life had that pressure on him where he's the best player, he's the one that's expected to get the team out of a hole like Saka has for years, and Palmer had last year for Chelsea. He's got it now, and surprise, surprise, he's nowhere to be seen.
@@louiespage Fam it’s just hate bro they want to put down Foden to try and prop up there respective youngsters but guess what they haven’t done what Foden has done so they don’t get looked at the same as they aren’t winners.
To even mention Haaland tells me Lb doesnt watch games. You cant say he needs to step up cause he has scored two goals in the last 5 games when you dont bring up the obvious reason why. HE DOESNT GET ANY SUPPLY. As a striker yOu need to be supplied to score. He says Foden is the least of the problem but he brings up Haaland (?!?) who has actually saved City so many times and is top scorer in the league. He scored 4 goals for Norway in the last couple of weeks, so he isnt out of form. The difference is that he is supplied on Norway while he isnt at City. When you conceide 3/4 goals it means you need to scoe 4/5 to win. You cant expect Haaland to score a hattrick every game. Give me a rest! The real issue beaides the slow midfield and defence is Pep stubbornness. A manager at that level should be able to fix things adter 5 losses. He should be able to see that he doesnt have the players in midfield to play the posession style he is so obsessed with and has had success with for years. A good manager should be able to have other sollutions or a plan B when things doesnt work, at least try something else…but he just keep continuing with the slow posession play, all game through….every game, even though everyone else sees that it is so easy to stop City when they play that way. Its so predictable. Every opponent’s defence can just walk back and reorganize until City tries to attack. Never any quick counter play when they have the chance. When you struggle the way you do, then at least try something else, like playing the ball quicker up to Haaland, so he can challenge with his speed and strength and can score. Its better to win 4-3 than lose 4-0 or play 3-3. I am pretty sure if Haaland was played theough more, he would have also scored the goals needed, but how it is now, he either gets the ball behind him and have to stop and bring the ball with him while a defender at his back or they just play a blind cross in front of goal when Haaland has 2-3 players around him or he has to jump a meter in the air to make an impossible header. When they use him wrong and he only gets to finish half chances where he has to do something acrobatic, then its completely hopeless to be a striker. They hardly score goals like the 3rd goal anymore or goals where Haaland is played through with a ball he can run after. Why dont they focus on that more in training now when they struggle with a slow midfield and cant break through defences that way?? I dont get it. And the high line which caused the 3 conceided goals more or less is also Pep’s responsibility to avoid. He could have changed it after the first conceided goal. Why are people so afraid to pin out Pep’s weaknesses? Just because he has had siccess with the same posession play for many years doesnt mean he cant do no wrong.
I just want to let you know that Haaland in those 5 games had a expected goals of 8 and only scored 2. It's not only his job to get goals but you can't say he doesn't get supply because that's objectively wrong.
@ You dont get my point do you? You cant expect him to score on every chance he gets, even those who arent big chances. Not every chance that is counted are big chances. If you think he gets a lot of supply you cant have watched many games. They never play the ball to him when he makes a run anymore. Those are usually Guaranteed goals. He doesnt get a lot of supply, some games even nothing at all, so a lot of the goals he has scored this season has been coming from creating the chances. Its not easy to stay focused for 90 minutes and get one or two chances. Sometimes when you are not getting involved and get the feel of the game, and maybe the first touch of the ball is a chance, then its not that easy to score. (Its hard to explain what I mean in English). He hardly gets to score «easy» goals where he is played through or tap ins like people like to call them (even though they come from Haaland’s smart postionimg or runs in front of goal). He, like everyone else, will miss chances, the difference is that Haaland will usually score after a miss….if he is getting supplied. There is a reason he always scored every time he was played through when he played at Dortmund. They knew how to use Haaland the right way. City is wasting him big time. In almost any other team he would be used way more and core more…wtill he has set all these records and is still top scorer this season….and that says a lot about what kind of goal scorer he is. Most of the chances he gets, he creates himself. He never stand and wait for the ball to come to him..
@@In_my_own_mind Your point is irrelevant because you started it by straight up lying... if he had an expected goals of 8 then that means his teams provided him 8 chances to score. Haaland doesn't score more because our defense is playing to hight and to slow. When our defense get the ball, they passe only between them and back again, giving the other team all the time in the world to get closer to their goal line and around Haaland, Haaland is a runner, a counter attack player, who is waiting for long balls.
