What a HUGE difference from the AWFUL apartments you toured yesterday on the Lower East Side at the same (or more) amount of money! Cash... since you're right in the neighborhood... you might want to consider taking that second apartment for yourself and family???
Very lovely 1BR apartment at first site, nothing to complain about. You should rent the second apartment for you and your family. It is huge with lots of storage and room for little Violet.
He's in a rent-controlled apartment now. Not a good idea to give that up in New York. Otherwise, the landlord can triple your rent and there's nothing you can do about it.
Where he lives may be rent-controlled, but it is way too small for a family with a small child. Children need space to run around and play, not stuffed into a tight rabbit hutch with no place to move around. Even Cash has mentioned that where he lives is too small, and that the family needs bigger quarters.
@@jgrafx I grew up in a two room apt with my sister and parents. We may have lived in a rabbit hutch, but the outside has limitless miles to play and run around in
1st apt is a sweet deal; 2nd apt (in a mother-and-daughter house) could be a sweet deal, 3rd room could be an office--Mr. Jordan, YOU and YOUR WIFE should rent the place!
3 seashells system 😆 Love the first apartment, big windows, lots of light, not a bad view, street looks nice, I can imagine it during the nice, dry autumn with all the brown leaves, and bright colours 😍

You can use light filtering curtains, apply vinyl window coverings - you can see out, people can't see in, or blinds on bottom half of windows, so many options.
I love the windows on the first one- just not on ground level. If it were up a few floors, the windows would be great. On this level, it just makes it easy for the creeper- or general public, to spy on you. Otherwise a great place. The second is super massive! I love all the space. The 2 bedrooms are super squishy & were obviously chopped into 2 to be able to charge more rent. I’d rather have one big room over two small ones every day. This one is also on a lower level, but it is a townhouse & the windows make sense. I love that both have laundry in unit & that prices seem great for what you get. These were 2 good finds that will prolly go fast! Great job Cash! I hope you see this comment..I missed out on the past 7 videos. I know you are busy- I hope its a good busy!

The neighbourhood also seems fine, though as I know nothing of NY locations (except what you tell us) I'm guessing. I think if I were relocating, I would snap up this one.
I really liked the second apartment. It felt more spacious and homey. Although, I live in CA and even I think NY rental prices are outrageous! Good thing I'm a home owner because renting these days is so expensive!! 😬
I loved the windows on the first place. If you swapped out the drapes for blinds you can raise/ lower from the bottom AND top, you could insulate your back while sitting on the couch in the winter without blocking out all of the light.
It's nice to have both too. Blinds after the glass then drapes after. West-facing glass is a bad idea in summers, although this is way up north so it may not be as bad as places near the tropics.
1) That first apartment after yesterday's roster of yikes is so refreshing! So clean and bright! And the neighborhood has nice bars and cafes as well! 2) I keep forgetting that those two family homes are a lot bigger than they look from outside! The second apartment would be great for roommates or a family!
This micro apartment is about twice the size of the micro I lived in for 3 years. I had a dorm fridge, 2 burner stove (no oven). The toilet and tub/shower was behind a curtain against the wall.
The first apartment is amazing, and the price is too! Love those floor-to-ceiling windows, the fact that everything is brand new, the in-apartment washer and dryer, and the location. Rating 9/10. I think the 2nd apartment would be perfect for a family. (Cash, you and your family?) Those small bedrooms are perfect for kids (Cash...just think, Violet could have her own playroom!!). Otherwise, to me, kitchen is blah, and is that a yellow bathtub in the bathroom? Perfect set up for a small family. My rating 7/10.
I love love love the one bedroom!! If I was a New Yorker in need of a place to live or in need of a fabulous place to live I’d rent it in a heart beat!! I LOVE big windows!! Ahhhhh, a girl can dream can’t she?
Queens is definitely the best borough!!! The 2nd one is big, but I'm not a fan of private owners. Sometimes getting heat in the winter can be an ordeal. The first one is fantastic. Wish my daughter could afford that price. Any chance of doing some rent-controlled options? Seeing a studio in that first building would be awesome also. Thanks for another great video!!!
I'm the opposite. The fastest response to fixing things and the most flexible has been private owners. I find management companies slow to respond and really rigid with the rules.
Cash has done some rent stabilized options. The only way to obtain a rent controlled apartment is to be a qualifying family member who would succeed a tenant who had a rent controlled apartment. So basically, rent controlled apartments are not on the market. There are other rent regulated apartments like Mitchell-Lama and HDPs housing connect list, but these aren’t rent controlled apartment.
It’s hard to know for sure if an apartment in NYC is rent-stabilized unless it is advertised as such and that is not always the case. There are ways to look them up in city records but it is a cumbersome process and the quicker ways are not always accurate, and while you are trying to find out before you commit, someone might rent it out from under you. I didn’t find out an apartment I rented once was Rent Stab until I actually signed the lease and saw the rider. Brokers don’t always know the status when they are showing. Sometimes it is literally a crapshoot.
I love the bathroom with the lower electric plugs. In my house the plugs are beside the bathroom light, and unreachable to a midget like me. Oh, down here we call a house like your second one a "duplex". They can be lovely or a blight on humanity. Parking is the big problem; in my city two families equals 6 or 8 cars. I love your neighborhood info.
Hi Cash, Quite often the microwaves located above the stoves have exhaust systems built in too. Just peek underneath and you’ll be able to tell for sure. 😉 They’re both huge apartment... Personally, I preferred the first apartment. ♥️👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The first one is a polar opposite to yesterday's apartments. It may not be in a "happening" neighborhood or close to Manhattan schools or employment, but it offers everything for a mature lifestyle. The second apartment would work well for a family because of all the living space. Does that space heater suggest that some rooms are chilly in winter? For both units, the distance to Astoria's transit line would be important for commuters.
Astoria is a "happening" neighborhood, as Cash Jordan makes it his home and he, alone makes things happen. The second apt is just four short blocks to the El. and it takes at the most a half an hour to get to work or school in Manhattan. Maybe the heater was there because they are in the process of installing a new furnace and there is no central heat right now.
1st apt good lord rent it! Right now! A family needs to grab apt #2, 5 minutes ago! Two winners. Beats the heck out of a few other recent disappointments. Congrats to whomever gets these!
I'm old and lived in Astoria back in the late 90's and, honestly, both of those apartments blew my mind. I was on the 2nd floor of a 3-story walk-up. The rent on the apartment I was in was a little over a thousand for what was (technically) two bedrooms (again, late 90's), but it wasn't nearly as nice as either of these and was easily the same size as the first apartment.
Thanks Cash for showing something in Astoria. Fantastic area in Queens with bars, cafes and restaurants galore. Shopping and lots of bakeries too. My accountant is on 23rd rd and 28th street. Still use her even though I'm in Tampa.
Wow Cash you and your lovely family live in a super nice 🥰 Great apartments today too! I really liked both of them and was looking up wall cabinets for my books to fill the second one 😏
That first apartment was a real winner - I was already deciding on the blinds, the window seat, and where to put my stuff, whilst happily ignoring the fact that I live in a council bungalow in the north of England, with barely a penny to my name!😆 And that second one had family home written all over it... you really have outdone yourself today, kind sir!

Both apartments are great. I loved the 1st for all the huge windows. All decent size rooms. Astoria is really becoming easy overpriced tho. I remember the old Parisi bakery back in the 80s & 90s. The smell of baking bread was phenomenal. Too bad the restaurant that used to be on a side street (uncle something) went out of business. They had phenomenal food & super cheap. Where the gym is now used to be agreek nightclub. The neighborhood has really changed. I used to pay $600 for my place in Astoria. Lol
Everywhere adjacent to a city centre becomes expensive. The lucky ones are those who came before gentrification and can still afford to live in the neighbourhood.
Looks like a the winning apartments are located in Astoria. I'll have to take another look at this video. Question Cash, have you ever seen other apartments in Astoria and almost considered telling your wife about it and breaking your lease to move into one of them? I seen a few lease breaking options for you to consider in the recent past.
I love both of these places. I like the second that looks more like a house but, being a native Californian, I'm leaning to the wall of windows. We have a lot of houses here with those so that apartment would make me feel more at home. Its really nice, it's in Astoria, I was blown away by the low rent...getting something that nice that cheap in NY gives me hope. All I usually see are depressing, dark, cramped "hallway" apartments for twice that amount. By the way, we call those heating/cooling units "mini-splits". And I saw my first older person finally. Lol. These are nice, Cash. Two in a row! Thank you!
I don't mind the 3nd one. Feels homely. I don't even mind looking over the neighbours. The area looks inviting. And I'd love to sit on those steps in good weather
2 good ones, 1 bedroom is my preference with those great windows! Love the huge living space in the 2 bedroom. Laundry in unit is a big +! Definitely more bang for your buck in Astoria!
You might feel stupid for paying $1800 for 1/3 the space of that $3600 apartment, but in the long run you're saving money, which gets you closer to being able to *buy* something.
Seeing your various videos of NYC apartments make me feel so good about living in South Jersey. The buildings here are not covered in graffiti and the sidewalks are not blocked with scaffolding. (Is that because the buildings are falling down and people need protection?) Also rents and houses are so much larger and less expensive. Small quirky restaurants are ok if you don't mind paying exorbitant prices for food. You don't mentioned if any of the apartments have central AC. Otherwise I really like your videos of NYC properties. Keep up the great work!
I bought a Victorian duplex with eight bedrooms, five baths, fireplaces, basements, attics, four stairs cases, servants, quarters, three porches each side, and it was less than 200k. NYC apartment prices seem like Sci Fi to me.
Cash FYI: DD water is imported from Massachusetts & SB water is a product of NYC. 🤣The first apartment is a winner. I love it. The 3br is nice and spacious. Thanks Cash.
Yay, Astoria places! The first one looks great, though a 1bd for $2350 there is... ehhh. Love the second place, though a deeper bathtub would probably be nice lol, and would def help me out for a roomie situation if I get to moving out sometime soon. Definitely better than yesterday's... situations.
I loved the big eat in kitchen of the second flat, but it is old and dated as is everything else. Not thrilled with the views out of the windows either.
Oh my I love them both but the second one is my favorite because its so big. I love having my bed facing the windows cause I love to lay in bed and look out.
Ok, that first apartment is probably the best one he's shown in a while.

Lol
I just remembered it was Baba Giorgos (uncle George)
Everywhere adjacent to a city centre becomes expensive. The lucky ones are those who came before gentrification and can still afford to live in the neighbourhood.
I love how the kitchen in the townhouse is separate and an eat in!
Love both places! Good space, laundry in both! Sink sprayer, medicine cabinets! Be👏🏼au👏🏼ti👏🏼ful 🗽🌇🚕❤️
I like my LG phone, it's what I watch you on!😍
Looks like a the winning apartments are located in Astoria. I'll have to take another look at this video. Question Cash, have you ever seen other apartments in Astoria and almost considered telling your wife about it and breaking your lease to move into one of them? I seen a few lease breaking options for you to consider in the recent past.
Shhhh don’t say anything 😭
He is not gonna ruin his credit or lease when he can just wait until it's up and not renew it. Those apartments will still be there
OMG that first apartment is Amazing. The natural light is everything. Wow!!!!
Cant believe how big that Second one is tho. Jeez.
Loved the term "Forest of Food"
Wanna go there!
OMG! That first apartment is fantastic. Fantastic.
The first place was GORGEOUS all apartment dwellers all want our own laundry.😁😁😁😭😭😉enjoy your commentary regarding the neighborhood 😁😉😁😉
Thank you!
Love love the first one with the windows!!
I kept staring at the windows of the first apt. trying to see if one opens. Awesome apts. Like the heating up toward the ceiling.
You might feel stupid for paying $1800 for 1/3 the space of that $3600 apartment, but in the long run you're saving money, which gets you closer to being able to *buy* something.
I didn't think that second apartment would be that big. I'm currently looking for an apartment and I have never looked at so many yellow bathtubs.
First apartment not bad. Nice windows. Lots of outlets. 2nd apartment nice as well with laundry and nice kitchen. Affordable to live there.
@@ginmar8134 Midwest?
@@ginmar8134 So where is this great Victorian?
@@ginmar8134 You're nowhere near the East Coast, or even in Illinois for that matter. Guaranteed.
Both apartments are great and have great prices
Love the one bedroom!
I love that first one so much! Astoria Queens is a cool place to live!!
I watch you to laugh and help me wake up before I start my shift, wfh life. The most hilarious Real Estate Agent, love your vids😁
ok the first apartment looks awesome, if i needed a place to live in that neighborhood i'd absolutely check it out
Cash FYI: DD water is imported from Massachusetts & SB water is a product of NYC.
Love the first apartment
Oh my I love them both but the second one is my favorite because its so big. I love having my bed facing the windows cause I love to lay in bed and look out.
Yes, please! I will take either of these apartments! 💖
