It's because they like there headcanon. A Person's headcanon is basically there fantasy and what they like or enjoy, they'll not care about what's the actual canon and will make it however they want and change the characters entire potrayal to fit there headcanon, For example - a really Nice and kind character will be an rude as***le in there headcanon, Or straight characters will be Gay to support there ship because they like that ship
