The body was found in a pool of dried blood on a Thursday. This means the body has been dead for a while, and we heard that the Monday newspaper was still outside when his body was found, meaning he was dead before Monday. If he was dead before Monday, and his door was open, The mailman would have seen his door open Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, but he only reported it Thursday
It could have only happened after Monday morning as there are only two bottles of milk we can assume that the milkman comes on alternate days and when the milk was delivered in the morning the man was alive I'd he had died on Sunday the the smell of blood would have been relatively fresh and the milkman would have checked

Actually, Monday’s newspaper was there because newspaper man knew that there was no need to go there after Monday, not because it didn’t matter which one he brought.
Or he/she did deliver the paper on the Monday but didn't show up for the other days cause he/she knew that he was dead and there for there would have been no point in delivering the rest of the newspaper.
