Sir, the diagram shows 10 microfarad capacitor across pins 1 & 8, but in the video you use 100 microfarad across the 2 pins. Also, if you are generating pulses (555 as an astable multivibrator, then you have not connected any capacitor between pin 2,6 & ground. Also if you use a preset directly between pins 7 & 8, you can blow out the IC when the preset value is set to zero ohms. Please show the correct circuit.
Buzzer capacitor is to filter the current and the 555 timer capacitor is for generating the desire frequency... Frequency of the circuit depends on the capacitor and resistors. You need to generate specific frequency to trigger the ultrasonic sensor

How do I keep from hearing the pulse. I hear the pulse through the speaker and then the buzz when an object is placed in front. Also can the range be 8 feet?
Using this circuit you can't use a pump. You have to use an additional transistor or mosfet or relay module with it. My opinion go for Arduino for better result.
Of course... If you're getting the output of 5v in the buzzer terminal... If you get less than 5v... I suggest you increase the input voltage higher than 5 volt... Your timer won't go bad or misbehave because it can operate from 4.5 to 12 v
@@bbnCRLB range is nothing but the intensity of sound.... So you you give more power supply... The ultrasound will be louder traveling more distance.... You could do that way... Or you can do the math and calculate the speed of sound coming back and set it's echo to trigger at desire range
