At NAS Cubi Point '79-'80. Remember the O Club. Ron Parnes was the manager. The bar with all the squadron plaques was transplanted to the Naval Aviation Museum at NAS Pensacola when NAS Cubi closed down.
Great posting. Spent many evenings there in the 80’s with my squadron. Last time I was there was 90-91 on my way to and from Desert Storm on the Ranger. I remember the place in a lot better condition and much more lively.
If you want to relive it the museum at NAS Pensacola has the cubi point cafe which. They packed up all the plaques and everything and relocated them there.
good years. surf & turf nite the best. and music by that girl group "quintesense(?)" the cat room had just been converted to a hangout using parts fm a retired C-117 and had a loud jukebox and a lexan dance floor like a carrier deck
Guys, stationed there in 1975/1976, daily meal (lunch, dinner or drinks before heading out into the 'Po) Visited there in 2016...sorry I did. Philippines still great but Subic Bay Naval Base overall D-, Cubi Point F. Semper Fi
I spent the Marine Corps Birthday 1987 there dressed as a Vietnam era grunt. I was stationed at B Co. Marine Barracks almost next door to this place. Our 1Sgt had some uniforms going back to 1775 and we had to wear them to the MCB. Not as fun as the E-Clubs MCB but we got the next day off for it.
WHAT A FANTASTIC VIEW OF THE WHOLE BASE AND HARBOR

Old VC5 er , yu we’re across the street from us, Separate Guard
Sad. The finest Naval base in the world.
Makes me sick to see how they treated this beautiful place. What a waste. I don't understand the logic of letting it go.
So sad !
