Albania is on my list, I'm Peruvian and it's not very common for South Americans to know about a small country like Albania but my dad was in love with this country and taught me a lot about it, he died a year ago and I want to go Albania because it was one of my dad's dream to visit it (and now it's mine), I remember my father used to tell me "wherever you go, whatever you see, I go with you and I see it too because I'm part of you". He may be gone physically but my father will be with me when I go to Albania ❤️. Can't wait.
Been to Albania twice from Ireland it is absolutely beautiful and still very unspoilt by mass tourism,I love all d Balkans countries, its their people that make them special ..
Great video and all you said is true. I agree and i have only been to Albania once, stayed for 2 weeks in Tirana and Sarande. Albanian pride does not compare to any other country. They are very welcoming and i always felt safe there :)
LOL... true, and they (we) talk loud.... My kids born and live in the west, always think that we are arguing and about to beat one-another whenever two or more Albanians get together talking... also, the generation born before 1990 facial expressions are those of a suffering and distrusting people from all what they endured under one of the most harsh and cruel communist dictatorships. The young generation looks better, fed and clothed better. Albanians are well known for their welcoming of foreigners.
The time I spent in Albania was amazing. I was treated very well by the locals and I have only good things to say about my experience of Albania. I highly recommend people visiting. Enjoy
Albania Is beautiful. And people are great. Telling you that, as a Serb . I realy respect and like them . We have some desputes on a national level, but , among dozens of Albanians I have met personally, in Montenegro and Albania, I can't say anything against these people. And country Is beautiful and wellcoming.
I never knew anything about Albania until a few weeks ago. My fiancee has been stuck in Russia for 18 months, and I haven't been able to see her as an American since then. We noticed Albania was one of the more affordable tickets that would allow both of us to visit. I personally wanted to go to North Macedonia because of the Taken movies. I started to read up on history, watch multiple videos like this, and it became clear that this is somewhere we both really want to go to without realizing it. Only 46 more days, and I cannot wait!
That " Taken" movie has done so much damage to Albania. People think Albania is such a dangerous country, even though the events in the film were happening in Paris and not in Albania. It is such a pity. Albania is the safest place in Europe, not because of police or government rule. It comes from it's own people, it's culture and traditions. People themselves keep the law and order. You don't do a crime in our communities as you get punished straight away. If you kill someone, you'll get killed for sure. Albanians take revenge, so everybody thinks twice if they want to do a crime. Women move freely everywhere, because you are in a BIG trouble if you touch a woman who doesn't want to be touched. You may call yourself a DEAD person if you touch someone's sister, daughter or wife. If a woman asks for help in the street, you'll see a bunch of people surrounding and safeguarding her until they send her safely to her destination. Street crimes don't even exist in Albania. There are no gangs or drunk people beating people up in it's streets. Albanians don't even pickpocket or steal you because it is regarded as a shameful thing in Albanian culture, just as begging. No Albanian begs or steal on the buses. The only people who might pickpocket on the buses are gypsies and they are the ones who beg in the streets too. Albanian Mafia is not in Albania... When they come in the country, they come to invest and enjoy their life. They try to stay away from trouble, because they know "everybody is a mafia" in Albania which means that even normal people might retaliate at you if you commit a crime towards them or their family. It may sound a bit old fashion " the vendetta " style, but Albania still follows honour and traditions in its daily life. The country has lived for a very long time under various occupations, so it's people used their old, long traditions to survive and function.
@@liljanasufaj4130 I just got back from Albania, and that was probably the best trip of my life. My fiancee and I were getting meals with strangers, we were invited into multiple homes for drinks and conversation. And I complete stranger that knew Russian gave us a ride to Durres after noticing how confused we looked. Everyone was so friendly and hospitable. The owner of the apartment we rented in Tirana invited us to his villa to drink some amazing homemade raki, eat some light snacks, and get out of the heat. I am a pretty internationally-misguided American from a small mountain town of friendly people, but Albania was so much more hospitable. You can't find that in many cities, especially America. Im glad I wanted to learn before I visited, and to get rid of stereotypes and fake opinions present in American cinema. I definitely plan on returning again. Im sorry that the reputation of Albanians have been harmed through misinformation, as well as the general lack of knowledge of the country. I met 3 Americans waiting for covid tests at the Tirana airport, and all of us were extremely happy we chose to visit there. Again, amazing friendliness, beautiful sites, extremely safe, and a very rich history that I have been reading about almost nonstop since June.
@@jacobfrost8299 I'm glad you had a nice time there. There is a funny expression in Albania regarding foreign Ambassadors who came to work in Albania. Albania has a lot to improve to catch up with the rest of Europe, but it is moving forward and has done well compared to the dire conditions of the 90-s when Albania came out from Communism on its knees....
@@liljanasufaj4130 I lived outside of Moscow for awhile, which also came out of communism in the 90s, but not the exact degree. That saying is definitely correct. I wish I had the money to stay in Albania.
@@jacobfrost8299 Yep. Communism was harsh, but nothing compared to Albania. When Albania welcomed 700 000 Kosovar refugees into their tiny homes, they were so surprised to see how poor really were Albanians of Albania. We even bought clothes and other necessary things for them from our tiny money as they were in need for the moment. Still, Albanian hospitality and generosity shined like never before. It opened many eyes in the west on how generous Albanians really were and how Albania was able to accommodate such a massive number of refugees without any social drama. And all because of our traditions to welcome in our homes anybody in their time of need that passes at our doorstep and to guide and protect them with our lifes. The situation is not the same today, 20 years later. If we were to welcome refugees today, we are able to keep them in our homes without any outside help. Albanians are warm, friendly but hot blooded people and if you don't lie or cheat them ( they hate lies and being cheated) they are the most loyal and amazing friends you'll ever have. Also, if you help an Albanian in need, you'll get compensated for ALL your life. They are grateful and never forget your goodness towards them, but if you do smth wrong, they will not forget it either. They will make you pay even if it lasts for generations. Honour in keeping your word is still very important in Albania and this is the main point that Albanians get in arguments and fights with others. If someone changes their mind and doesn't keep their promises, gets in trouble with Albanians quite often ( Italians and Greeks learnt that the hard way). Anyway, I just hope that we don't get too westernised and lose our old ways as that's what makes us unique in Europe. Sorry for the long comment. Albania is certainly trickier to get around than Greece but is still worth a visit. Renting a car is a pain. And it's definitely a cheap place to visit. You can visit Tirana, see Berat or enjoy nature/beaches.
Great video Dany, thank you. Can you let me know please the name of the big town at the coast. Also that breakfast buffet near the end looked amazing. Which hotel was that please? All the very best. 😊
Your negatives are good to hear, because the world is not all rosy. I'm sure there are more is one takes certain risks. But you rather closely paralleled some of my experiences here in Romania where I live now. In thinking where to escape to if Putin goes absolutely psycho it seems like Albania be be an affordable destination.
He's accent is almost american but I do not think he is. To me he comes accross like having a slight Dutch accent which is noticeable only in a few particular words.
Another good thing about Albania now in 2021 is that the government is very relaxed with the covid 19 restrictions. Other countries all around the world have been crippled by governments trampling on people's basic human rights, using CV19 as an excuse. Eg, if you fly in to UK, Canada, Australia, ect, the government is going to require you to quarantine for 10 days minimum at an approved hotel with guards preventing you to leave. And it is going to be at your own expense.

LOL, we are neighbors, and that's how it should be - reciprocal love. Politics has caused our people to suffer; maybe now it is the time for us to mutually recognize and respect one another. Germans and French fought and killed among themselves more than Serbs and Albanians, yet, Germans and French reconciled and are friends with one-another. That is the only way between Albanian and Serbs, finding a way to reconcile and move forward toward progress instead of hatred. Thanks
Serbs were helped by Albanian t make their nation but they forget us fast and takes even Kosovo land and people … why Serbia don’t say in 1913 , I don’t want Kosovo land and Albanian land , give to them ??? Interest is the world motion motet
The perception about Albania has changed dramatically in the last few years thanks to many young people from all around the world visiting the country and uploading their videos on youtube or other social media platforms. Of course, there are pros and cons as in any other country, however, we no longer need lazy journalists or politically biased, scaremongering tabloid articles to learn about Albania. So, I would like to say a big thank you to all the young people, boys and girls, from all over the world visiting Albania and promoting its beauty and being positive. Please note that with your videos you are contributing to make Albania a better place and make Albanians feel proud and build confidence in their country.
You made a very honest & good description about Albania, well said mate. I keep telling to my westerns friends that Albania is safe, safer than most countries in the balkans, especially for turists like yourself, but unfortunately some european countries including our neighbours have damaged allot our image and reputation. We are the easy target to get the headlines, (Example) if 5 Greeks and 1 Albanian are cought in drug trafficking the headlines will focus on the Albanian because our government is to weak and corrupted to protect Albania's image or it's people, but that does not mean that Greeks are better or less criminals, they just hide better and have stronger government which strongly invests and protecs their image and reputation. And yes religion is not everything to us, we don't care that much. For us being Albanian's is more important than being muslim, catholic, orthodox ..etc, after all we are one of the oldest nation in the continent, long before religion appeared, but that does not mean that we disrespect anybody's belief or religion, in fact it's the opposite. Thanks again for you kind words and glad you enjoyed your time in Albania. 🇦🇱 Respect 🤝
Dear friend. Speaking as someone who has visited your country many times I agree that there are beauties that one deserves to see, both good and bad people like all countries. As a reference to the reputation of some Albanians, unfortunately you made it yourself, since for example the BBC a few days ago stated that the largest percentage of prisoners in English prisons are Albanians. I could write other examples but I do not want to tire you. The bottom line is that we do not blame others for our suffering but we try to fix what we have! Greetings from GREECE..
@@zanteskipper69 BBC is not always the best source to trust my friend. It was BBC last summer who had Albanians all over the news regarding some made up story by the captain of Manchestet Utd, Harry Maguire in Mykonos accusing Albanians of trying to rape his sister..etc, which later were brought down by Greek judges as false allegation, but for us Albanians the damage was already done because it was all over a news for a week or more. That was my point that we are the easy target to point the finger to, not that i am trying to justify Albanians that do ilegal stuff in Europe. This is one of many examples we had in the past 30 years and people who don't know Albania can get influenced and create this bad image about us which is not true. There are more Albanians living abroad than inside Albania and even though with few exceptions, the majority of Albanians are good hard working people which in one way or the other have contributed into european society (including Greece) and shouldn't always be judged because of what you hear or read in the news. Greetings from Albania!
@P_KoCi, Dear friend, i have seen some videos about Albania and got fascinated. Even though, i wanna visit Albenia. So, I wanna know much more about your country. That's why, i am asking for a way to know more. So, if you do not mind, could you please talk to me and let me know.? If you are interested, please reply here. Thanks in Advance
@@zanteskipper69 But if they do criminal activities in England, and Albania is really safe, what does that say about the UK? If we are as you say wouldnt it make sense that we behave the same way in whatever country

Your negatives are good to hear, because the world is not all rosy. I'm sure there are more is one takes certain risks. But you rather closely paralleled some of my experiences here in Romania where I live now. In thinking where to escape to if Putin goes absolutely psycho it seems like Albania be be an affordable destination.
thank you so much from Kosovo

Very informative video as Always . but i am more curious to know what you said on 2.49 what do mean by creating a base ?
He meant to set up a business in Albania.
Danny, I agree with you in your opinion. But I think that if Albania is too touristy on the one hand, it may become soulless like Dubrovnik.
i love to go there live with my partner wish it soon god bless us.

Coool vids bruh, are you American? do you plan to stay long there?
He's accent is almost american but I do not think he is. To me he comes accross like having a slight Dutch accent which is noticeable only in a few particular words.
NOTE: Try saying "it/this was recommended to me." NOT "recommend me." That means they are recommending you yourself.
Its just a loooooooong selfie!
Albania is a nice place hmm
I've narrowed it down to two countries to visit in April
Albania vs Mexico
Is there enough to do in Albania for 2 weeks?
From mountains to the riviera... give it a chance...
Bro talking about roads.....coming from Arizona to Sigonella, Sicily (Italy).....we know this guys are in the "European Union" but the roads here are crap like Afghanistan, our car is breaking down because of the potholes.
Please, let me ask a Albanias question

Some, but in general they English level is the lowest in Europe according to statistics.

🇷🇸🤝🇦🇱 i love serbia too and have serbian friends i hope i go to serbia some day, and i think the hate between us should stop, we are so similar in terms of character its crazy, i love my serbian bros
Thank you 🇽🇰🇦🇱
Nothing weird about that! It’s time to welcome each other
The perception about Albania has changed dramatically in the last few years thanks to many young people from all around the world visiting the country and uploading their videos on youtube or other social media platforms.
Respect 🤝
@@zanteskipper69 my dear friend if you saw the racism in greece towards albanians you would be more than surprised.
@@zanteskipper69 But if they do criminal activities in England, and Albania is really safe, what does that say about the UK? If we are as you say wouldnt it make sense that we behave the same way in whatever country
As an Albanian currently living in the UK, I have to say this is SPOT ON! Perhaps the most accurate review of Albania I have seen on RUclips. Thank You for taking the time to make this video. I wish you a wonderful adventure, wherever in the world you go.
