The songs Gigi sings are the songs most filipino love. We love old and new songs but we can relate to old songs more coz we're very sentimental. The songs she sings are the typical live band songs but she definitely gives her own magical approach and presentation.
This is my favorite Filipina singer who I like most because of her ability to sing not only the new songs of today but more so the beautiful love songs of yesteryears. This is what endears her to his audience and followers across the board.
Yes, you are right, Gigi's choice of songs she covers seems old school but she can sing different genres (try to react to her singing Footloose and Bang Bang). She is pure talent and very versatile. Her version of Adele's All I Ask is good but her Better Days is really superb. Her jazzy renditions of Fly Me to the Moon and L-O-V-E IS marvelous. You won't be disappointed . Of course, her band is amazing too.
It's not just GiGi... the entire philippines is frozen in time to Old Songs.. We love the classics, yeah we are UPDATED to the new Pop Songs but me personally my heart goes to the oldies but goodies.
