When her entire family is killed by the occupying Manchus, Yim Wing Chun narrowly escapes to the Shaolin Temple. Disguised as a man, she persuades the abbot to let her stay, and is given the job of fetching water from the well for the students. Wing Chun begins to teach herself Kung Fu, from secretly watching the abbot. She incorporates her own techniques into a new style ideal for close quarter fighting. The other monks soon realize that she is not quite the man she says she is, but by that time strong bonds are formed they are supportive of her mission for revenge against the Manchus.

I watched this movie when I was a 7 years old kid, on VHS, at the end of 1980's, in Poland.
Till this time it was my only time when I watched it.

This movie is based on a real story, Wing Chun was a local beauty and folk heroine. Notice that at 17:31, they mention San Tak, or San Te, a real life monk who was the main character in the 36th Chamber of Shaolin.

loved it, especially when she went down the well and was bruising her elbow, I went "oooooh I see what she's learning here!" I've just started doing Siu Nim Tao every morning, so it was super cool to watch that in action.

Um filme mediano, que nos satisfaria mais, se tivesse dublagem ou pelo menos opções de legendas em português. Como não assisti a este no cinema, nem tive a sorte de encontrar em VHS, não há como compreender de fato, toda a história. Darei uma nota, em outra oportunidade, quando entender o filme, por completo. Obs.: Por que o canal não manda o filme diretamente com as legendas? Ou pelo menos com opções de legendas para quem assiste no computador?
