I love hearing some of these lines in isolation without the hubbub of the rest of the scene, it just brings out so many qualities. I never fully noticed or appreciated the tenderness and worry in Crowley's voice when he says "I'm coming back, I won't leave you on your own"

Oh I love it so so much, because it shows Aziraphale's inner conflict, his line of thinking so perfectly. I think there are many people who (rightly so) focus on Crowley's heartbreak, and even though I always tried to feel for both of them, this edit flooded me with so much sadness for Aziraphale... which of course is just a testament to how great it is!

that was one of the best GO i’ve seen. no joke this is so so so good i could probably write an essay about it. the melancholic looping and rewinding effect, aziraphale and crowley’s constant miscommunication, the pressure of the ticking music. What a masterpiece of narration. Truly well done.

Oh my god. oh my god. oh my god. WHat a piece of art. finally some inventive editing. I love it, most ardently.
I'm a bit of a purist and usually not a big fan of fancy effect tricks, but _man_ what you did with them is _beautiful!_ It feels like most of the time effects are just thrown in for aesthetic, but these seriously enhance the meaning and provide genuine depth. I love it!! Like the part when Crowley's voice sounds underwater when it cuts to Aziraphale to illustrate their communication issues, or how it "rewinds" little moments one or both wish could've been different, or want to experience again.
Thanks! I really wanted to explore Aziraphale and his perspective through form and the different ways sound or video structure can be used. This is one way I interpret his story and their misunderstandings, at least! I'm glad that came through at least a little :)

Wow! This is so cleverly done, it's clear a lot of thought went into it. I especially liked the little reversed moments, and the smashing glass after the two toasts. And the loop works really well!

The soft music, the isolated lines, the stop and rewind effects...it all feels like a moment suspended in time in itself, and it encapsulates so many feelings ! The way it loops too ! Oh my. This feels like... They can't miracle away and save themselves anymore.
This is... Perfect. There is Sadness, Sorrow, Hapiness, Love, everything that feel good and bad. In so many ways. Your loop effect is such a brilliant and well-made idea, it's astounding, this feels like a forgotten bubble filled with all the things they love and hate and don't understand about each other.
Feels like Aziraphale is stuck in a sad beautiful dream combined with a sweet nightmare, all inspired by his memories. Feelings, motions and quotes hanging in the air, flashforwarded or rewinded or canceled or repeated again and again, as if the angel is snapping his fingers for a miracle, trying to find why and how and when did they end like this.
Your video is so complex, almost too difficult to watch, and you were so right to tell us to use the loop.
Now it's looping again and again, and each time, I understand more and more details.
The phone, ringing again and again, but Crowley ignores it and never picks up, to the point Aziraphale says with despear and wrath he doesn't hear it either. As if he tried to reach and understand Crowley but can't anymore and it's crushing him. Crowley leaves. then, snap sound, back in time, we re-start all over.
Crowley saying "Be an "Us", we can go off together", then Aziraphale saying the "I forgive you" but regrets it right away. Snap, back in time, but when it's his turn to speak, he is SO wordless with Crowley. And when he remembers what is important - "I don't want to go back to Heaven", "found something that matters more than choosing sides" - it is alreday - "always" - too late, he is alone just as he was left alone in the cemetery.
The glass sounds as they toast - their hapiness and their smiles - they toast one, twice, and then Metatron says "You'll be able to decide" and then the glasses break. My favourite scene in all your video.
"I can make a difference", snaps sound then it becomes "Come with me, we can be together" but he can't understand how much the "AngelS!" is harmful and disappointing on the demon, leading to an cold "You have the liberty to go". But when Crowley is about to leave - again - snap, back in time, but the "You can't leave, Crowley" is useless, the demon is out, again and again and again...
And then the final strike: Aziraphale remembers Crowley said once "I'm coming back, I won't leave you on your own", and he first feels so relieved about it, but then the "Are you sure, angel?" lingers in. Aziraphale is still hopeful and choose to snap back in memories, once again.
Aziraphale can't move forward. What he should have said, should have done? Where did they failed, where did they don't? As if he is trying to turn back the clock wanting to repair everything, but ends losing himself in time and memories.
It's... mesmerising. You did such a great job here. Thank you a lot for bringing this pure masterpiece to life.

Hey! I'm so happy to receive your reply, I thought my comment was a little bit too extreme... But I am a - French - writer and when I like that much a fan work about Good Omens, I HAVE to say it.
Thank you once again, because I re-learned a important lesson: there is so many fans vids here so I can drown myself into it while we wait the season 3, but it's important to never underestimate a fan work and to BE SURE to always try to understand the hidden sense(s) behind the videos.
After my first watching of your video, I put it on loop and started to write a little normal comment, I didn't intent to overdo it, because I thought your work was just "ok", and that was all. But then, while it was looping, I listened, just LISTENED to it. Then the glasses-shattered sounds hurt me, and I tried to understand why it was there, what was the purpose of putting these sounds there - suddenly it seemed just as the same way I put some tiny weird details inmy stories, the kind of little detail which will reveal later as DEADLY important in the end of my story.
Then, after the third watching time, the "snap-sound" pattern hit me like a truck, I heard the phone ringing, and everything else.... and I finally saw/heard/felt all the complexity you put in your work. Maybe I wasn't enough focused the first time I watched it, maybe it was very late here - it was 2'o clocks in the morning when I first watched your video - or maybe I am just too dumb (lmao). But, whitout seeing images, it was simplier to analyse and understand your point of view. And I was so happy and so amazed to find so much details and clever significations, that I spent almost an hour to study your video and write down my observations. I felt like I was discovering a whole wonderful book behind a"simple" video.
I wish that anyone who can watch your video, can feel this "happiness of discovering", and take the time to appreciate it.
PS: the clock-ticking sound starts just after an bullet/cartridge sound that make think of the 1941 minisode - 1941 is often considered as the moment when Aziraphale understands he is in love - and this clock-ticking sounds ends with the glasses-shattered sound. Plus, when Azi says "It will destroy you", you made it sound like he doesn't refer anymore to holy water, but to the fact that if Hell "finds out about it" - that an angel is in love with Crowley - they will destroy Crowley. Are these a way to tell that their story reaches its end too? Or that with the mess Metraton has done, their relationship can and will evolve differently then? Uuuuuh, I am overanalysing, am I. Well, I'm still wondering if there is other details I didn't find out... Yet! ;-)
@@Elenthya Thank you for the lovely reply! Aziraphale's "They would destroy you," was my hope of expressing how he has almost always been worried for Crowley's safety and them being safe to love. I tried not to think too much about the future of their story while editing (since it's not been actually written for the show and we'll find out either way), but in my brain, these are patterns and moments that happen on repeat and are cyclical in their relationship. Hopefully that cycle will be broken once Aziraphale figures out how to.
In terms of other auditory details...there's also the nightingales :)

This is sooooo damn good!
So soft, gentle and it have an almost soul calming effect, with the snaps, woosh sounds together with Crowley and Aziraphales voices being the perfect fit with the calm.
Desktop do have an automatic loop feature, right click on the video and its right there on the top.
So even on desktop the magic can be experienced to the full extent.

This video is so full of beautiful pain- without each other, they have nothing. They belong together...
this. oh my god THIS. is. SO. beautiful ! it's so clever in the way the clips are picked and the narration, and the effects you used and where and why. I love the fact that a lot of the effects are actually audio only, you can HEAR it has many many layers and it's fascinating to rewatch and try to hear every little detail. in that regard, I think my favourite bit might be between 0:43 and 0:47, when the clinking of the glasses turns into shattering before everything rewinds again. it could have been so easy to overdo it but this is subtle. it has a sort of quietness to it that the music underlines really nicely, and it fits aziraphale's arc and character so well. I'm in awe.

I adore LiS! That wasn't a conscious choice while editing this, but I feel like that it must have subconsciously influenced me. With turning back time aspect, I can definitely see what you mean! I'm flattered you thought of it when watching.
God that was so good! I love the rewinding effect where aziraphale says one thing but then rewinds to reveal him to be struggling in that moment. Since this is from Aziraphale's perspective really like how Crowley is framed as this important figure that Aziraphale has all these feelings attatched to. But we dont get full picture of crowley, So theres this real melancholic feeling like Crowley becoming memory that Aziraphale wishes he could grasp onto but just cant.

Thank you! The song felt so dreamlike and I wanted to make the video feel like a dream or a memory, if it was at all possible. When I talked to my friend who watched this before posting, I actually said that I wanted it to feel like he was chasing something that keeps slipping through his fingers, so I'm really happy you saw that and enjoyed it!

Thank you so much! For the muffled or underwater sound, it's a simple lowpass filter on the audio that's just keyframed and adjusted to personal taste/sound. On some clips throughout there's reverb added, yes! For those curious (more technical response) it's just done in Premiere Pro by nesting the audio clip you want reverb on, applying "surround reverb" to the outside (I set the effect to gnome in my dome), and inside that nested timeline, I duplicate the clip on another layer, extend the duplicate, mute that duplicate layer, then back in the main timeline you can just extend the nested clip and can fade it out how you'd like.
