I love Cruz, it has that wonderful lucerne hay vibe about it without the "cut grass clippings" thing of other mates. It's a perfect staple mate. Thanks for the great vids

Great video, brother thanks for your help. I am introducing this yerba mate that i am introducing to a friend as he is new to the yerba mate world. Looks like this might be a good beginners yerba mate and would be great for the evenings. Ive had it and i really like it a lot...

There's not much I don't like about Cruz de Malta. Switched from coffee to yerba mate and it has been a month. I don't miss the coffee at all. Being raised in small rural areas, this mate reminds me of fresh cut hay. It's rustic and complex at the same time. I've sampled few other brands but think this is going to be my "go to" mate. The first 2-3 cups from my French press are often deep emerald green and I recycle it until approximately mint green and the leaves no longer float. Those first couple of cups are heavenly and even as it weakens some it still has a robust flavor.

    Hey Dave,
Love all your stuff. I just received a big package of Cruz De Malta and I'm finding that the taste is WILDLY different than my Eco teas tea bags and the original stuff that got me into it: Trader Joes' Organic tea bags. I'm finding that Cruz kind of has a bit of an oaty/corn taste? Did I get a bad/old batch? Am I using too much? Or am I simply not used to REAL Mate? Could you do a video review of Guayaki or Eco teas? It would be interesting to get your opinion on the blends that seemed to be designed for an American palate.

Just bought a kilo of cruz de malta. I'd like to buy a gourd like the one you have in the vid.

Hey Dave, good informative video. I'm curious about what you think of Rosamonte (the regular and seleccion especial) as this brand seems to be pretty popular. Cheers.

Rosamonte is a decent mate. Some people really love it, others can't stand it. It has a bold presence. Give it a shot.

I definitely need to try verdeflor.. Sounds tasty. Yes, I'm familiar with the Mate Santo gourd, but I prefer a simple wooden gourd :)

Hey Dave, i’ve been looking for a mate that can possibly help me with focus and concentration for adhd. I’ve heard Mate is a good source but idk which one is best? Thank yoou

They say all types of mate help with concentration. Make sure, you consult with your physician ( there might be interactions with medication). Some yerba gives you more energy than others, but they all help with concentration apparently. At the end its about your taste preference try eco tea or union suave if you have never had mate before.

How many should i use for one cup, sometimes i read that i should fill the cup with 3/4 with the yerba. Other sites say that i should use 1 tablespoon

Cruz de malta is very good, the best Argentinian yerba I've tried. Rosamonte is the worst so far, it smells lovely and smokey but not keen on the taste. Maybe I'll come back to it but I don't think so.

Now that I've tried more yerbas I have found Cruz to wash out very quickly. It has low durability and the flavor is only good for maybe 4 cycles.
