Sleep paralysis is scary. I've never experienced the "Third Person" though. I usually feel inability to move and speak. Feels like someone has held their leg on my back (I sleep stomach down position). Feels so heavy and keeps getting heavier the more I struggle. Also I never heard anyone mentioning this but I feel a very loud ringing in my ears when I'm having the paralysis. I always think it's due to my body getting tired due to working out at night after my working hours. For first timers, this is so creepy that it can mess with your head.

I too hear that sharp thing, that rings my ears ! Something that is too loud & can't be quite compared to.
I used to experience sleep paralysis often when I was in hostel , but had stopped ever since I left but after 3.5 years it happened again, day before yesterday. I struggled to wake up , chest felt heavy... but when I finally did, my dog was very restless, chooing & was barking at something (she is a very calm dog & obeys our orders)!! I let her out thinking she might need to pee but she kept running around the house & barking. It was all at 2am ! We both couldn't sleep , my dog kept looking at the door & wanted to go outside all night long. I finally slept at 7 am! Strange

I've had similar experience, only happened once
Never saw any creature type of thing
But i saw myself sleeping (in third person)
It was like i was seeing my body through corner of my room
I could see my body is shivering and sweating a little
Never understood what was happening but not happened again fortunately

    • @florashade
      @florashade Год назад +11

Coz it doesn't happen, third person views r dreams not sleep paralysis... sleep paralysis is when u are shouting but can't u feel like your lips are sewed. u try so hard but can't even lift a finger. sleep paralysis is called paralysis because of this only. and It always happens with u. third person perspective is always a dream, it can be a scary dream but not sleep paralysis.

Being Nepalese,I can confirmed that putting khukuri or knife below your pillow helps to prevent sleep paralysis because of some religious belief.
My family and myself have had experienced this a lot of time.
Scientifically, if you avoid sleeping on your back facing up also prevent it.

Whenever I have sleep paralysis, I often see a baby sleeping beside me( it's more frequent than others), a lady with black saree watching me from another room, kids running around etc. But this only happens when I sleep till late in the morning or I take noon naps. So basically sleep paralysis occurs in daytime. If you're really struggling with this, put a diary and pen beside you so that after waking up you can write down about the dream you had. You'll definitely get to know about the reason of SP.

When i have sleep paralysis, I hear some woman screaming and shouting at me so loudly non-stop noise(around 90-95 db) and when I try to open my eyes, I could see a women with all black coming towards me smiling. This was soooo terrific. That time I just mumbled by saying jai hanuman and thinking about all gods. It happens to me 5 times a week. And when I told my mum about the incident, she suggested me to keep me a knife (usually some kind of knife called bauso in Nepali )Btw it’s medium big after that I’ve never feel that such kind of things again.

And i would also see a big man who used to come near me and sit on top of my body I used to feel immense pressure on my chest.. I would try to get up but couldn't at least till 2-3 minutes. This happened with me about 3-4 times.

If you're frightened by strange or unsettling things before sleeping alone, your mind might remain awake even during sleep. This is because you've already signaled to your mind that something is amiss, causing your brain to potentially trigger frightening dreams like sleep paralysis.
Tip: Sleep on Your Side: Some individuals find that sleeping on their back can increase the chances of sleep paralysis. Sleeping on your side might help reduce the occurrence

It used to happen to me every single day back in my 9th grade and very often during my 10th.
So what i learned from my years of experience is that when you realise that you're having one, instead of trying to move by force, just close your eyes shut, relax and try to go back to sleep. That's the fastest way to relieve your body.

I have experienced sleep paralysis uncountable times in my life. However, i realised that all those scary things that i saw was basically projection of my own fear.
So with practice i learned to control my fear, and now whenever i experience sleep paralysis, i calm myself down and console myself this is just a dream. Once you learn to control this, trust me this will be your best dream ever, you will be able yo experience out of body things where you can do anything. My first jump from my balcony of 4th floor to the ground during this out of body experience was so overwhelmingly exciting. You can now do anything without any consequences. Its like playing real life GTA.
However, it is hit and miss experience. Sometimes no matter how hard you try you won't be able to control your fear and then you start seeing/hearing creepy things. But trust me once you get in control it would be best dream ever.

    I'm not sure though.

Sleep paralysis is a common phenomenon. I have had it many times. It happens very commonly when you are stressed. So her experience could be because of the fear she felt seeing the girl in the temple and because of exams.

I want to say something about sleep paralysis..
Shadi se pehle karib 8 saal pehle me ek bed pe sotithi aur mere father ek room me par dusre bed pe so rahe the..raat ko aisa laga jaise mere upar koi so raha he aur me apne father ko bulana chahti thi par muh se kuch bhi nahi nikal raha tha..wo mera muh daba raha tha.. fir pata nahi sab thik ho gaya tha..
Fir itne saalon k baad raat me me dusre room me so rahi thi tabhi wahi sab hua fir aisa laga jaise koi mere pairon ko dusre aur ghuma raha he aur mera muh bhi band..fir me aise daudi dusre room ko..i can't express the deadly experience 😭😭😭
    I don't understand what is this 😭😭

I faced sleep paralysis few days back , now idk why but , it's like a series, a series of episodes. It's like I am experiencing someone's story , but not me , it's so weird the next day after that , I just chanted jai shri krishna , and also put my phone under my pillow with songs about krishna playing on it and since tht day it did not happen again, during tht time , it lasted like fr 1 min max , I was sweating , I was laying with my back facing the ceiling and my stomach in the cot .. it tried doing very thing to move around but couldn't, I tried finding my teddy but couldn't, and once I got up everything was pitch black for 1 sec .

Before watching this I didn't know that I also had experienced so many times of sleep paralysis... I mean usually I sleep in night or afternoon n I see myself in my dream in the same room, at same position, I feel like someone is back side or someone is beside me but I can't see what is that, I feel very stressed or I feel like someone is not letting me to see. It's really scary😢 I can not move or speak..but after sometime I cry or shout then I wake up.

I am also a victim of sleeping paralysis when my age was 13 i still remember that night which horrified me alot...in Bengali ancient stories there is a ghost called buba bhoot (silent ghost) this means the ghost didn't talk or makes any sound it stays silent it only comes when you are in deep sleep .. some times people say that whenever you experienced sleeping paralysis that would be mean you are possessed by a silent ghost...it feels like the same like you can't move your any part of your body..but you are in sense even sometimes you can't open your eyes.. for God sake after that one incident till now I didn't experienced like this 🙏🔱

When you explained the first story, i could relate it a bit.
Mujhe bhi achanak se hostel me sleep paralysis suru ho gaya tha. And you know what mujhe mahine me do tin baar nahi, balki din me 2 3 baar hone lag gaya tha. Jab bhi main aakh band karta, I used to experience it. I was too much disturbed for nearly a month or more. Har ek din har ek raat bas main aakh band karta aur ye experience suru ho jata. Wo ek do mahine ke baad dhire dhire wo kam ho gaya. Jab bhi aisa hota i used to chant Ayat ul Kursi. If you are muslim, you will know about it. Wo bohot jyada bhayanak experience hota hai yaar. I literally used to feel some object over my body jo ki aisa lagta tha ki mera gala daba raha hai and well mujhe breathing me bhi problem hota tha tabhi. But strangely everyone around me couldn't even get a sign of what i was going through. Wo bolte ki unhe sab normal lagta ki main so Raha hu and that's it. 😢
I asked one of my teachers, well room teachers and he after doing some research on it ( since we were not allowed with smartphone inside hostel, yes it's the rule). He suggested me to stay calm and cool in such situation aur jyada movement na karne ki salah di and that really helped. I used to stay calm and repeat Ayat ul Kursi. I was also suggested to do Wudu and sleep. But again har roz main raat 1 se 2 baje sota tha. So generally bhul hi jaata tha iske vare me😢.
I haven't encountered it for months now and seriously I don't even want to anymore. Allah bachae har ek ko iss Bala s
