The Reagans and the Kennedy's always had good relations, because they are both in the vein of inspirational leaders. From JFK's "ask not what your country can do for you..." to Reagan's "we are a shining city on a hill" is not a great distance. The fact that two such men were both subject to assassination attempts, one successful one not, tells you something about how the system reacts to inspirational leadership.

There was civility back then because elected officials and politicians did not view every issue like it was, 'The end of the world if they didn't get their way"
They knew that this life is just a brief moment in our eternity. Most believed in an after life, a Judgement which would correct all wrongs.
Therefore there was Patience and understanding if the issues of the day were not immediately solved or agreed to by everyone.
"Hope for the best" "Do the Best you can" and "Tomorrow is another day" were the Hallmarks of those times.
Today. . . . politicians and advocates are living as if THIS World is the Eternal Kingdom and that they are doing "God's work" in advocating for their causes so that anyone who opposed them are considered "Infidels" in their eyes.

Interesting! Ya know...I'm censored now for sharing information on what took over The United States. So much for being related to those that colonized North America. My mom was a Boone once known as 'de Bohun' as in King Henry, I can imagine that The Queen didn't like the fact that Daniel Boone joined a militia and fought in The American Revolution. Of course, they fail to mention that President John Quincy Adams who formed The Anti Mason Party between 1827 to 1836 was also a descendant of The British Royals. Too many things are censored from The American People. Far too many things.
