And combining their techniques and insights
And sprouts new talent with own signature

That's so beautiful! My favourite Dire Straits song. Your technique is so clean and your sound is spot-on! I can feel every note. (I'm a similar age to MK and remember the places he sings about in the song as I'm from the North East originally). I hope you will have a great career in music Mike.

I studied musical and classical music as a kid but i use none of it. Well i use the guitar. And I know all the things I'm doing wrong
But i am fan of originality, not rebellimg for the rebelling.
People like you, keep people like me in check and people like me are just annoying critics;)
Oh and also not negatively meant. But not only can you find your own voice / range, you can even have some fun with the licks

Oh ok one more , one more thing (no not sultans). Try fingerpicking for the authentic sound since i feel you're going for that❤ i ama finger picking guitar player and since a few years, I also play electric rock without pick. It's weird ,i tell you

Ok from looking through the comment section here; I see a lot of comments giving you dishonest feedback that isn't actually true or accurate. So as a singer and guitar player myself I am going to tell you what I see as the REAL facts from viewing and listening to this video. First off: your vocal projection has no prowess, you don't sound like Mark Knopler, and you' re a very weak sounding throat singer who is badly in need of vocal training to teach you how to sing from your diaphram rather than just your own head. Secondly: Your Guitar playing is good, authentic sounding, and in time. But to be honest, your singing skill, and guitar playing skill are far from equally on par with each other whatsoever. I would strongly suggest finding a good vocal coach and ironing out your vocal weaknesses.
Thanks for your comments. Truthfully I do not consider myself a singer. I sing on these for completeness as I find guitar-only covers lacking.
I do know how to sing from my diaphragm (still not claiming to be a singer), but I was trying to sound vaguely like somebody who I naturally sound nothing like, so technique naturally went out of the window.
