I love watching them…at 2:19 his mom taps the father. In true humanizing form, I interpret that to mean “ I’ll go over here and maybe he will follow” - but it did not work. Those little guys luv their papa

Iriki has plucking fur habit since she was little. Iriki started to pluck D'jeeco's furs after she had Ringo. The zookeepers tried many methods to reduce her frequency of plucking fur. It seemed a little bit improvement and D'jeeco's fur was growing back.

The little ones love nothing more than rough n tumble play with Big Daddy! It's a requirement for proper development in these primates, same as with humans. Unfortunately, helicopter parenting has eliminated much rough n tumble play from kids when they need it most (early childhood) and we're starting to see the unfortunate results now.

Being bored is much better than ending up on someone's dinner plate. Gorilla flesh is the most favoured Bush meat in their native land. Aspinal Foundation has bought lands in Congo to have their gorilla rehabilitation work and they had to hire guards 24/7/365 to guard the gorillas. If the zoos and sanctuaries do not have these breeding programmes and if there are no securityfor the gorillas, within couple of years, they will be just a memory only.

Daddy, is nurturing to baby Jabali, bcz his momma is a bet on the crazy side. I believe daddy had to check her and she getting better with being more nurturing to baby Jabali.😊

Tayari mother’s just like she was mothered. Look at old videos of Gyasi & Tayari. Heck look at Gyasi now w Kiango. Tayari was young when she had Jabali. The same age as Lope & we laugh & love his antics. But Tayari is just supposed to automatically change because she got pregnant? People are so silly when they talk about her. Jabali is a very confident & adventurous gorilla partially because of Tayari. He’s strong & growing just fine.
