The engine noises are fantastic in the LMP2. Great racing too, middle class is like the middle child, often forgotten and unappreciated, but I would be very keen to watch you race in it more often
The P217 is the only prototype with any feeling in iRacing IMO. I spent months trying to make the Ligier not vague as shit and the P217 just communicates the limit at all times. I fucking love this car and when they retired the Radical SR8 I was saddened by the SR10 which suuuuuuuuuuucks but the P217 is just far better anyway. They unsucked the fixed setup about a year and a half ago so I’m so happy with this car. They better not screw it up
Drove the sr10 in downtime testing yesterday and couldn’t believe how shit it felt compared to the sr8. Spent probably 2 hours lapping and tweaking setup over and over at algarve and ended up enjoying it even less by the end. Real sad. When it comes the the ligier my smooth brain can’t deal with the RHD and massive understeer tendency I gave that one up so quickly
The "one car dominating for that week so everyone picks it" thing is annoying. I think you should be locked into a car when you start the season, just like in real life. Whether it's faster or slower, it is what it is.
Races with mulitple makes just doesn't work for sim racing. I think an F2 car would work significantly better than an F1 car for iRacing and it would make more sense to race that instead in that regard. I'm an oval main but in 2021 I did a full IMSA season in the LMP2 and the car was a blast to drive. I will say the one caveat to the LMP2 in my opinion is that the high downforce config is great, but the low downforce in my opinion is trash that cannot be driven hard at all. I don't even know why it exists anymore since apparently it's been several years since the low downforce config in real life was completely abolished, but as far as I know it still persists in iRacing (please correct me if this is inaccurate now). At medium to high downforce tracks it's really fun though.
Love the LMP2. GT3 feels very dry and boring, and GTPs have become a catastrophe of driving standards. The LMP2 field seems to have consolidated into a group of consistent and competitive drivers without all of the distractions or dangers of driving in a more crowded field.
I switched to LMP2 this season, as a 4k GT4 driver I've found the switch to be punishingly difficult. This is the first downforce car I've driven, struggling to keep my minimum corner speeds up, compared with other drivers I seem to be over slowing on entry. The car feels very numb and uncommunicative. Any tips on how to get a better feel for this car and how to extract more pace?
This video format with the jump cuts to other incidents is gold. Potential idea: Also using it as a weekend endurance reveal video. This week, we'll be running the LMP2 class for the 6hr endurance race.
I watched this race live, it was a good one. I haven't made the switch from GT7 to PC and iracing yet but once I do I get the feeling that I'm going to go for LMP2 as soon as possible. Love these cars irl and they seem to be awesome in game as well.
LMP2 is the class, Dallara is one of the companies building these cars, but there's also others like Ligier for example but they're all shit compared to the Dallara haha

only drawback is that there are not enough lmp2 drivers... the splits are ranging from 5k to 1.2k drivers most of the times.. but i still love it

I have an LMDh car and several GT3 cars, but when I race in IMSA I always choose LMP2, it seems I'm too comfortable with LMP2

Nah, the Radical SR8 is the best car on iracing, this probably comes 2nd.
