I saw this country music legend about a half dozen times from 1972 to about 1992, and I am still in awe when I think about just how great a singer George Jones was. These young country artists that we have today spend most of their time putting on cowboy boots and hats!

Never heard this song. Love that the guy could make fun of his famous rep for missing shows and drinking too wildly (He even made fun of the Lawnmower incident in some songs). Today's hot new country singers are not worthy to shine this legend's shoes much less "fill his shoes"

My buddy Bobby Jones would walk into the shop the day after taking a personal holiday signing this song. Everyone would laugh and I would say. Welp I can't take a day off and come in the next day singing They call me no show webb lol my boss used to tell guys that missed work on Friday the day after payday to go ahead and take all of next week off. He meant it and no better way to punish a man than taking a week's pay from him. Do I have some stories 😊 it would be a great book but an ever better movie.
