@@evirgil84Awh thanks! Glad to know I’m not alone, although I recognize I was not nearly as sheltered as some! But we each have our own personal experience and I’m glad we can all laugh about it now!

I am Ashlyn's witness! What she's saying is every bit true. I went to church with her. My kids went to school with her. I have so much trauma from that church alone. I was raised in this denomination my entire life, I am now 45. It is so hard to break free of the fear of God and Hell. It is amazing to be away from and realize we can still have peace in our soul with God but not be a part anymore! Ashlyn, i am so proud of you❤

Trey, I think the dog you’re thinking of maybe could be a Shiba Inu (your “shhhhh” word thinking 🧐)
-Is energetic, bold, and spirited - not a lapdog
    -Is smart and clever
    -Moves swiftly with light-footed grace
    -Excessive suspiciousness when not socialized
    🐶 🐕

I grew up in the 90's and was semi sheltered. Church every Sunday morning and youth group every Sunday night. Parents had to meet all friends' parents and kid before I was allowed to go to their house or come to mine. 9 pm curfew all throughout High School.
We didn't have cable until I was in middle school. Couldn't watch: R rated movies, any music channels (MTV, VH1 or BET), The Simpsons, Married with Children, Late night shows etc.

I'm with Katie. Depending on who I'm talking to I either say one or however many months. Now that I have two under two I tend to say months for both so people understand the age gap.

I loved hearing the stories about grandmas at the end of the episode, and it reminded me of a funny story of my grandma Vicki! When my family tried playing secret Hitler with my grandparents, my grandma was hesitant to play liberal policies because she was scared she wouldn’t agree with them. We explained the liberals are the “good guys” in this game and there are no real policies to read. She finally understood, and later in the game she was accused of being Hitler. She openly fessed up to that. We later learned she was not Hitler. My grandma Vicki is now affectionately know as Vickler to my family😂

It’s crazy how different our experiences are over the country. I couldn’t imagine not having an immigrant in my class. Where I come from people who’ve been in the US for even two generations are minority.

I think “Wait’s what brings the wagon down” more so means “time” is what brings the wagon down due to weight. It’s going to feel heavier the longer you wait, so the ‘erosion’ of the wagon will happen if you don’t move quickly. (Do I sound poetic? Would Taylor be proud of me? Or grandma Triplett, at the very least?)

46:54 I feel like she won bc of how young she is. She was a child when technology was full fledged (she at most was born in 1999) and wasn’t exposed to any of it. Also, bc of how young she was, the rules that were illegal (I think) as of the last 35 years (like spanking in school-albeit the spanker was her dad-but the 1 other student in get graduating class presumably wasn’t her sibling), it’s even crazier (she wasn’t even born when these things became illegal). The fact that her family and community managed to bring back this school protocol and avoid getting in trouble with the law supports her shelteredness all the more.

Under 2 is still going by months. There's a huge difference between 14 months and 22 months, but they're both technically 1yr.
But I do agree, it's mostly for other parents. If it's someone I don't really know I just say she's 1. But this is my third so when people ask me I honestly can't even remember the months 😁
