Range fans! Range fans! Elijah, 😢you've got some fantastic 22LR rifles. And that scope . . . I love it. One is coming on top of my new (to me) Remington 722 in 222 Remington.
Oh man 222 I just gave away about 800 pieces of brass I knew I was not going to use but had been storing in the garage for years. I hope there is a video in the plan.
The 452's had a rock solid dual lug action and then CZ started cutting corners/cost with a single bolt handle lug and removable barrels. Give me a 452 or earlier dual lug action and threaded barrel over a 455 or 457 any day.
I felt the same originally then I then witnessed some of the 457's shoot on the line and WOW. I do believe originally with the release of the 455 there was so much skepticism. I believe they would have alleviated much noise jumping right to the cz457.
Yes you may have a point. I still think the best of the Brno's or CZ'S was the CZ American 452. With the right ammo they shoot like a benchrest rifle and a lot of it is to do with only 2 takedown screws and a floated barrel.@@Dayattherange
Have to say you have the patience of a saint trying to get that eley to shoot have a horrible feeling you would do just as good with rem golden bullet 😮. Thanks for another great video 👍👍
You were just about to test it with a 6-24 power scope and settled for 3rd rate. Give her a chance to show what she's got. Love your presentations though!
Having tried Long Range ammo from Lapua Eley and SK. At 100 meters, all three were very disappointing. None of them out performed SK Rifle Match. That was out of my CZ 457 MTR 20".
Guess what I have some of the same ammo NOT match ammo but man I have seen it in water jugs compared to 380 and I could not tell the difference HONESTLY.
Interesting theory. I have a Stevens Model 44 (rolling block action) with a 26" barrel that I've been shooting from the bench with CCI Std. Vel. better than anything else in my gun cabinet. Same ammo lot that produced flyers in 16 and 18 inch barrels doesn't seem to have flyers, or at least the flyers aren't as wild.
The old target shooters wouldn't compete with less than 26-28 inches on the barrel. After WW II the European sport shooters did tests to determine the most accurate barrel length, and which country made the best .22 LR barrel. Their conclusions, as explained to me were in the 1950s the Germans had the best Barrels and the Longer the barrels, 28-30 inches were more accurate. Why? These old shooters claimed the longer barrel made the velocity of the .22 LR more consistent. Their goal was to get as close to 1000 feet per second at the muzzle as possible without going below 1000. The long barrels were just better at achieving this.
You are burning that ammo one way or another. Good plinking. That ammo makes them nice guns look bad. Now you are gonna have to do the same series same gun different ammo to show how them guns really shoot
🤣 Actually it isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It just proves what we all knew already you have to find the right rifle and consistent ammo is key.
Sure there are better TODAY but that scope is clearer than some of the 6-24 scopes today way clearer. Not to mention I REFUSE to knock the rear sight off this rifle for a big scope.
Eley, needs to go back to the drawing board on this one, consistence is the name of the game or rename this product to " Extreme Inconsistency " @ $25 per box, what a shame, Eli, you maybe wasting our time on this trash ammo, but your having time at the range !!
@Dayattherange. Another good video and good shooting. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thank you - and I agree - it’s what it is.
Like what your doing here with the remaining ammo, nice way to highlight other rifles in the collection!

The longer barrel stability is Harmonics.

I just tried some SK High Velocity Match.
I feel the same about it as you do Ultra Long Range!😮😅

@Dayattherange it's definitely High Velocity!
I should shoot some jugs with it!🤔
Haha -gonna be hard to tell if you're gonna get driven nuts by this challenge or run out of the Ultra first! All the best.
I think it is a little both probably right at the same time.

Very interesting sort of supports my theory.
Yes change the scope
Which is more accurate. Eley Ultimate or Remington Thunderbolts 😂
At least no wild flyers. But I would take Eley Contact over it for the money. I think Eley contact would beat it.

I was always taught your only as good as your lest best thing and that scope anit it bother
