You can pause. This project is extremely easy and beginner friendly. Also it helps to get the basics down (magic ring, increasing, decreasing, stiches, ect) which there are tutorials for.

Bigger yarn and bigger hook
by using thicker yarn!!!!
Either use bigger yarn and hook or make your pattern double in size like for the first 7 stitches in the magic ring do 14 instead
