Oh the car of my dreams since I first saw it in 1958. Truly the finest Cadillac ever built, my uncle from Lansing, MI. Had one but a hard top. I look at this car and it gives me the chills.
We must have been separated at birth! Me too on everything you wrote. First time I saw this car it was parked in front of Hess Brothers Department Store in Allentown, PA. I nearly fainted as my tender little eight year old heart beat like a drum just looking at it. It was Christmas, the top was up, and it belonged to Max Hess, the best department store magnate in the world. And boy, was he rich! LOL Sigh!
My first car was a beautiful 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. I saved up working the summer of 1966 and bought the Impala for a whopping 300 dollars in February 1967. It was nine years old with 38k miles, white, with the blue trim and a 283 V8, with dual exhausts. It was the first Impala, and I did not realize how beautiful the car was until years later. What I really wanted was a 57 Chevy, or so I thought, lol.
Steve- Yes, the cars from the fifties and sixties were really wonderful. The nice thing at the time was just about anyone with a job could afford a decent car. But, I have to admit, the cars that are being built today are fantastic too! There are too many to mention, but some of the cars today are not only built well, they haul ass! So, while we older folks had some great stuff, you younger people have some very cool stuff too! Cars are a blast, aren't they? I guess they will always be cool! Take care.

I see videos advertising the Fleetwood Brougham as a Biarritz, but they aren’t. This one is the real deal; the rear end of the car is true Biarritz, and lacks the boxy appearance of the Brougham. I have never seen a nicer one than this restoration. It may not be a V16 from the ‘30s with a bespoke custom Fleetwood body, but it was the “Standard of the World” in luxury personal cars in 1958.
It appears that the a\c unit has been replaced with a newer one. Also the a\c vents seem to be wrong also, if memory serves me they were mounted at the windshield...
Seeing this just enforces the lack of distinction in cars today. In many ways, modern cars are superior BUT would it hurt if they put some lines in newer cars.
I worked for a electronics store Bergen field n.j. Bob greenquist an employee had conv. same as that I heard he passed away .what a magnificent car and fast .gas was about 25c.a gal then I had a 60 DeVille CVT. then 1200$ would get u . one then .
Saw one of these when I was a kid, I was in awe, and still am
I think I just fell in love! I’ve owned many Caddy’s in my day, but this ‘58 is the most gorgeous car I’ve ever seen!

My favorite cars were both '58 GM convertibles, the Chevrolet Impala and the Cadillac El dorado Biarritz. Heart stopping design perfection.

The 58s were prettiest cars Caddy ever made, and this one was best of all.

-Perfect-
There is no contest between a Chevrolet, Ford or any other American car of the 50's to Cadillac

This is what I have been telling my friends for years.

Beautiful Car!
It has just been saved. Lights go on, wipers clean the dusty windshield and it drives off after 30 years
Hi
Is it still for sale?
How much?
Could there possibly exist a more beautiful automobile?
