At 8:45 I saw you guys were at Melby's, I eat there all the time! There are tons of trails right across the street from there that can take you all over! Great video!
Along with your excellent photo/video skills, I want to congratulate you on your soundtracks. The selections, levels, and editing are superb - something very rare in motorcycle videos. I've binged on your channel. Thanks, and keep them coming! Be safe.
So cool to see. Gilead is my home town and Jackman is where our family camp is. So I'll definitely be riding that section for sure. Looking to get an africa twin to make that trip! Awesome stuff man. Thanks!
Western Maine is just a tease for what our state has to offer. So much I haven't seen in my own state. Glad I now have the right ride to be able to ride to where I want to ride. #Ride2Ride
I love it when foreigners come to New England and are surprised when you cross a state border without a big advertisement. It's not all city, as rural as it gets in a lot of places.
I would love to see some videos on how you setup your bikes for these rides. I just discovered the BDR system and am already dreaming about making a trip down from Nova Scotia.
We started in Oqoussac and went south from there. A lot of NH was closed. Probably do it again in a couple years. Was tough to try to do it in 5 days. 2 weeks in CO next year should be fun. Any tips would be good. Really just started 2 years ago and only started with 3 day weekend trips to feel out some basic needs. Love it. Probably not go back to touring bikes for a while.
If you are going out to Colorado you have to do California pass,Cinnamon pass, and stop in Silverton Colorado I would get the Trans American Trial chip for your GPS start in Trinidad Colorado and go from there, you can get your chip from GPS Kevin so you dont have to deal with Tracks and down loading them just put the chip in and follow the blue line of arrows unless you want to go hard then you follow the red route
@@SterlingNoren You are very welcome, I am interested in all of your rides and filming talent, I have been riding dirt bikes for 45 years and watching every RUclips about adventure motorcycling video that is posted and your quality and filming is outstanding, well done mate! Looking forward to seeing more, travel safe
Nice video and a great route. Looks like you had fun and got to see the old east coast country you should do the MABDR the West Virginia and Virginia portions are some of the best riding on the east coast I have been all over even did the TAT this summer and by far West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, great riding
Thank you! Did you get to see a moose? I'm excited to do my first BDR in September (MABDR) and nervous as we are new motorcycle riders (about 2 years).
Excellent video as usual. Currently watching your Riding Solo series and digging through some older stuff. Would love to hear more about your bike and Woody's Wheels. I am looking at upgrading to a set. Did you go with stock sizes or narrower than stock? If you chose narrower than stock have you noticed handling/performance improvements off road with the narrower tire/wheels? Cheers.
Stock size. I had a front wheel go bad and was replaced under warranty, then bent 10 spokes on a rear wheel. After they were repaired, I invested in Woody and haven't had any problems.
Hasn't all of this been dropped from the official route? I see it now in the description but that info should be the first sentence since the ME part basically doesn't exist anymore. Video is going confuse the hell out of people.
There is a U-Haul in Jackman, ME. I would advise you to call way in advance as this is a pretty rural part of the state. U-Haul phone number is 207-668-2191.

I traveled up in Maine....it's always good to have an extra gas tank up there. You would not think it's remote, but it is super remote.

Nice to see this BDR route in my own backyard. Now all I need is the right bike for it. Working on it.

Fantastic!! I'm not even into off road riding but I simply adored this series, the filming, editing and scenery are all excellent.
Get started dude !! Adventure begins where the asphalt ends !! Be safe
Awesome! Sterling is the man! Someday I’ll get out there!
Epic Sterling - what an awesome series to highlight the very best of the NEBDR. Thanks for all you do!!!
Thanks Victoria! I hope that you enjoyed your part in the process as well!!
Cool stuff. Wish I was 30 years younger.

Also, there are many many parts of maine where you can drive south and get to Canada

Another great video thanks from Pete Western Australia

Did the NE NDR in June. It was beautiful. Wish I could share some pictures

@@SterlingNoren will you be in Canada some time? Yukon or Newfoundland/Labrador ?
@@richardvalitalo3670 I hope so, I've never been to Labrador.
@@SterlingNoren Sterling, Labrador& Newfoundland is still on my trip list, maybe 2024, we'll see.
I loved the scenery ....and the good thing is that you can use a big trail motorcycle to do this tour ...

Next scene: Noah loading animals...
The man is back!!
Thank you for sharing. Is this section big bike friendly?

New riders, old riders, you will be okay. Enjoy Maine. What bike are you riding? Cheers
@@patrickcooper9641 Triumph tiger 1200. We cant wait.
@@avgmike6308 Great bike. Have lots of fun. Cheers
How did it go? Now October ha
The 7 minute mark is the same place I went down hard. 3 times I think. On my Yamaha Tracer 900GT. Guess it was not made for roads like these....
Hey Sterling, love the haircut 😀. And another great BDR video.
awesome ty
Really great video. Just it ended rather abruptly.

What bike was your friend riding?
Is this available on a GPX track?
Great behind the scenes on this series Sterling. Which Bridgestone’s were you running?
I think they are called Battlax or something like that.
Hasn't all of this been dropped from the official route? I see it now in the description but that info should be the first sentence since the ME part basically doesn't exist anymore. Video is going confuse the hell out of people.
No, the part past Rangeley Maine has been changed. Most of the video shows the ride up to Rangely and not the part that has been changed.
@@heybisbee OK thanks 👍
Logistics question: Can you rent a truck at the northern end of the trip to return home with, at least partially? Or did someone drive up to meet you?
There is a U-Haul in Jackman, ME. I would advise you to call way in advance as this is a pretty rural part of the state. U-Haul phone number is 207-668-2191.
Didn't the route change?
Yes - it did and that is pointed out in the description above :-)
What is the best time to do the Maine BDR ? meaning time of year?
Defiantly when it is not raining, probably in the summertime.
It really depends on how severe the winter was, as ‘Mud Season’ can last through April/May. I’d recommend June through October.
what is the BDR system? NEBDR?
Check out RideBDR.com for everything you need to know!
Maine is 400 miles long one area code hardly anybody lives here number 50 in crime
