Acrylic, nontoxic, water based is what I usually buy because it is safe for septic tanks, and when I can I buy natural pigments that aren't radioactive that just need water, I buy off of etsy and amazon in bulk. Usually the expensive art store paint stinks, is toxic, and or not safe for my septic tank, pipes or/ground water I also find the tubes are smaller and I'm paying 3 times more for paint that looks like 1 color wet but looks completely different dry, so I stick to acrylic but not the super cheap acrylic stuff because it cracks flakes and doesn't mix well and also stinks lately I've been using chalk based paint and Indian ink together .
Thanks for asking Andy! I have a very small amount on the Gallery tab at muraljoe.com It's under construction so there is a lot more to be posted. I also have Facebook and Instagram @muraljoe where I constantly post pictures of my projects.
If you want texture that stands out, what do you add? I have used Liquitex heavy body paints for years, and am looking for a less expensive alternative since I'm now retired. So, you use a good quality sherwin williams acrylic latex paint for all your paintings? Certainly is cheaper!
Hi Joe, my sheltered outdoor mural was painted with water-based acrylics and then I sprayed it with a clear-coat. But when the wall gets dew/condensation on it, some of the paint is running. Seems to only be the black though. Any ideas what could be wrong?
Hey Joe I know you have said many times which paint is best for different outcomes but thanks for this and have a great day bud
You just answered a question I have been asking myself for years. Thank you.
Thank you Joe💜

Do you have to get the exterior wall paints premixed to specific colors ahead of time or do you buy certain colors and mix them yourself?
Thanks Joe.
You can mix them yourself but it tends to be easier to get it done at a paint store. I often buy primary colors and mix them together onsite.
JOE Joe! You got a website for all your paintings? Like an online art gallery.

Have you painted in Oils before? If so, did you enjoy painting with them compared to Acrylics?
