Quelques Fleurs Jardin Secret by Houbigant was launched in 2017. The nose behind this fragrance is Luca Maffei. Top notes are Neroli, Bergamot and Yellow Mandarin; middle notes are Orris Root, Magnolia, Narcissus, Orange Blossom, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine and Rose; base notes are Ambrette (Musk Mallow), White Musk, Musk and Sandalwood.
Beige Eau de Parfum by Chanel was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Polge.
Beige Eau de Parfum, “a perfume that honors the unique color,” is a simplistic, yet sensual, interpretation of a hawthorn bouquet mixed with powdery freesia flowers, frangipani, and honey. Perfumer Jacques Polge wanted to reinterpret what Mademoiselle Chanel once said: ”I take refuge in beige because it’s natural."
Un Bel Amour D’été was launched in 2024. The nose behind this fragrance is Marc-Antoine Corticchiato.

About me - I'm Claire and I live in the UK. My taste in perfumes is usually quite sweet but not too sweet, I love white florals but not tuberose so much. I like gourmands as long as they smell like perfumes still, I require my perfumes to change a little bit as I wear them ie not linear. I don't enjoy oud, leather, cumin, saffron or strong patchouli however there can be occasions where I do like perfumes with these notes if they are not too dominant. I enjoy most florals as long as they are backed up with something sweet or perhaps resins / insense. I tend to not enjoy anything very soapy. I also don't really enjoy very green fragrances. I am averse to overdoses of ambroxan and iso E super (timbersilk or similar) just because I find it annoying! I have no problem with synthetics in perfumery but I do enjoy perfumes that have some notes that at least smell like they could be from nature. My favourite type of perfumery is indie and I love Francesca Bianchi, Teone Reinthal, 4160 Tuesdays and Papillon Artisan Perfumes.

Parfum d'Empire is my favourite find of the last year, i have sampled 14 perfumes from their range and none of them contains ambrononsense! They vary in performance, thickness/texture, sillage, but all done great. I am grateful to Pep (The Scentinel) for highlighting this brand!!!

I’ll try to get a 1 ml sample of un bel amour de’te. It sounds interesting. There was a lovely Prada vanilla which had a cumin note and I really liked that.

I bought beige last spring at full retail price and just got it out to wear again this year. Still enjoy it very much but will agree it is more of a daily wear one rather than evening datenight for example. Thanks for promoting this gem a but further ❤

Ooo chemical hairspray 😍 my favourite 😅. No I'd struggle with this one by the sounds of it. A "modern" interpretation... Is that Latin for ack. It does sound a shame, it did you like it could have been good.
Beige I think was OK, I think its the EDP I'd sniffed. Yes hawthorn is maybe a little to me a touch greener only a touch.
That last one does sound really nice and interesting actually. I've never heard of that D'Empire either.

Parfum d'Empire does some really interesting scents that seem to have a twist of some kind. I have Equistrius, which is an unusual iris fragrance. Would love to try Un Bel Amour D'été! Wonderful review, Claire. Beige sounds beautiful, too. I tested it years ago and need to again.
Thanks Jimbo I’m curious to try more from them. Tim sent me a sample of Le Cri but it was a bit sharp for me. Will look up the iris now.

Great video Claire, firstly I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, your hair looks fabulous. I love Chanel Beige, it is my favourite of all the Les Exclusif line, I love the honey and hawthorn notes mixed together. There are only a few perfumes that I buy replacement bottles and Beige is one of them. I think I am on my third bottle 😊

I found that the original version of Quelques fleurs was the best one. The flankers are not as good as the original.
Beige is nice but didn't really work for me so far. And I'm really intrigued by the new Parfum d'Empire 😊

I love Parfums d’Empire. I have to get my nose on this. I have so many of their fragrances. I couldn’t tolerate “Beiges” at all. It is too boring and flat to my nose. I’ve had the Houbigant fragrance forever.
I think I found Beige boring too whenever I tested it previously in stores but strangely my tastes are changing to more pared down simplistic scents. I’m about to order samples of several Houbigants now.
