Although I enjoy doll collecting i was actually traumatized by one of these Blythe dolls when I was 8 I had no idea how her eyes changed and while I was doing her hair I found out her secret it was literally like she had eyes in the back of her head I could have died it scared me so bad Lol 😂 The beautiful part is I inherited my grandmother's 1972 original doll and I promised her I would take care of all her babies so a promise is a promise Once I get settled she's going on a shelf permanently in what will be my grandmother memorial room which I am hoping will happen before the end of the year I'll keep you posted. Also, my grandmother said she couldn't understand why I was so scared of her she said I looked like a Blythe doll when I was little because I was skinny with a real big head
Official Neo Blythe dolls come with stands and come in window boxes. They all have glossy faces and less posable bodies and are named. I have one from a few years back that cost $140, and that was one of the cheapest I could find. I've even done a doll lottery on the Junie Moon website just to get the chance to buy a certain Blythe but wasn't able to. It's so hard/expensive to get one in a tan skin color. Many sell out quickly and soon sell for hundreds of dollars. I've considered getting one of these factory Blythes because they come in matte brown skin and are on the posable Azone Pure Neemo Flection style bodies. You get more with these types of Blythes for less money.
I have a Blythe doll and i love it so much. Have had it for a few months now and can't wait to customize it more. Already crochet a couple outfits for it and love each of them and experimenting with the clothes making process as well! I'm so happy to see your genuine review of the doll and hearing how honestly you speak about the doll is great! i deff wanna check out more of your channel now:)
"She's so cute, I just want to punch her in the face" xD I'm really enjoying this; I have a superficial knowledge of Blythes, but I've never seen them presented this way. Yours is adorable, and this review is spectacular :O
Gotta be honest: those dolls are creepy to me. Plus, I 'collect' for play, not display, so Blythe isn't for me. But I do like their clothes, and might buy some for my daughter's Barbie collection. And I appreciate how customizable these dolls are. Thanks for the comprehensive video, though!
I was impressed with the clothing quality... and usually, the clothing is loose on these dolls so they should fit ok on barbies. I wouldn't recommend overall type pants because the blythe torsos are shorter than barbie.
It looks like she has about the same range of motion/jointing as the azone Neemo type dolls. Must be a common standard over there much like the basic 5 points are here. Blythe is probably the only doll I ever found legit creepy, but they are cute in a Precious Moments kind of way. Great review from a layman's perspective!
I think it would have bothered me if I was young and saw that! Especially without a warning! Oh my goodness!! I just saw her hands get changed 🤪 now her ears 👂 I didn’t realize that these were adult made dolls 😊 This is a new generation??
I guess the reason why the darkest skin tone isn't available in Matte is that they probably use a matte spray like Mr Super Clear to give it that appearance, and dark skin tones with shiny plastic bases (like what Blythe has as a head) is prone to having scuffs turn up/frosting issues much more easily due to the base layer being so dark and a scuff can look more obvious. It's not as much of a deal with vinyl heads due to the flexible nature of the material, but a hard plastic head is a lot more prone to scuffing/flaking. Plus the scale of the head makes it much more prone to damage than a tiny Barbie. I know a lot of BJD artists run into this problem when offering commissions due to how shipping or even owner handling can damage a matte sealant as well as fickle environment issues can delay a matte sealant turning out okay. (Like too cold and the sealant gets frosty looking, too humid and it ends up too shiny, etc etc). And then there's the issue of matte sealant possibly making the surface look lighter/more ashy on a dark plastic due to how light plays off it. As a doll repainter when I do darker skin dolls, I often compensate for this with pastels and blushing, but I can see why a company who would need to produce consistent sets of dolls would avoid this as an option, especially when having to ship it out internationally. If you do get the darkest skin tone option and want to give her a matte face, several light coats of Mr Super Clear or Testors Dullcoat should be doable. I just assume it isn't an option from the company due to shipping and handling and the subsequent angry customers who can't fix it. Btw the darkest skin tone Blythe has is roughly the same skin tone as So In Style Kara and the Barbie Extras #1 if you're curious about a Barbie match.
I can’t get into doll that have big head same as Rainbow high & LOL dolls, it would drive me bonkers with the size of her heard and falling, her body looks good but she’s not in proportion. Fashion looks amazing great review but a pass for me 🥰hugs your way

I like your comparison to precious moments. Yeah they have a slightly vintage feel... which might add to the creepiness. 😆 poor dollies.
The bodies are actually fake Pure Neemo bodies! Pure Neemo Flection bodies to be precise.

I like blythe dolls, so cute dolls, i like pullip dolls too, is similar, do you like the smart dolls?☺
I like how smart dolls look... I haven't explored further than looking at pics. I'm scared to open a can of worms I can't close. Lol.
Fun for a doll collector though I wouldn't give this to a child as a toy.
So true
lol somehow my 6 year old niece saw one online and asked for one for her birthday. now I'm trying to find her one that isn't so costly lol
FYI Blythe heads are ABS plastic (the same kind of material as Barbie torso)

Wow , her head is so big.
Right? But she's so adorable, the big head makes them more charming.
@@BrokenDollyTV yes, and I like the eye color changing feature is so cool
