Things I would like to see: How good is the focus limiter? Lots of samples of 100mp photos! On this little screen with punch in focus while rolling is it usable? Does screen lag make it impossible to focus with manual lenses and how bad is lag in external monitors?
Love my gh6. Noise is literally a non issue, usability is amazing, the feature set is unmatched. By far the best camera on the market for a working professional. Anything else is just a compromise i'm unwilling to accept.
I never use autofocus on shoots, I always pull the focus manually with no matter what camera, I can't trust autofocus to know exactly what character to focus on at what time etc... but I'm talking of course about professional projects :)@@funkygentleman7370

I bought it two months ago and I am very happy with this beast. Recognition of people, animals and eye tracking is outstanding. Autofocus is great. No overheating, no shutdown, .... open gate is a fantastic thing. Of course, there are some flaws, but they are negligible. Every camera is only as good as the shooting skills
For me S1H and S5 are amazing. I can not go back to Macro four thirds. Gh6 photo quality is quite there with S5 but I think it looks great. All Panasonic cameras are great!!
@@fredriksvard2603 I do agree. The S5 focus system could be much better. Though saying that - for filming, manually, the S5 is a power house with great colour science. I am saving now for the Sony A1 for auto focus reasons to connect with my wildlife filming and photography. However, for the most part, with the A1, the S5 would remain my primary camera
The LUMIX line is fantastic! But of course all we hear about typically are Sony or the new R series cameras by Canon. People be dropping the ball on Lumix cameras.

I’m planning to get a GH6 this year, price is discounted right now and I also already have a BMPCC4k so being able to use the same lenses is a big plus for me. Also the video options is still better than the S5iiX imo. Not by too much. I am interested in the S5iix but I’m primarily a Sony shooter and thinking about investing in all those different lenses makes me want to cry.
I've spent the last few months debating between getting the A7S3 and the GH6. I was already leaning slightly more towards the GH6, but this video may have pushed me over the edge and made my final decision
The image of this camera, aside from being excellent, has a unique look to it... a certain color rendition I don't think I've seen on another mirrorless.

I'm definitely picking up the GH6 at some point (probably earlier than my bank balance will allow...), but I currently use the G9 and it's a very capable camera with a lovely image (will shoot 10-bit 422 up to 30p and even the 10-bit 1080p is decent for a lot of stuff) - also a third of the price (ish) of the GH6. The auto focus is actually really good too with the latest firmware update, and for photography it's an absolute belter. Great body for someone looking to get into the M4T format at a lower cost!
Hi Billy, I'm considering different cameras to shift from my gx80, and the g9 is ones of them. Are you sure about the 10 bit? I thought it was only 8 bit and can not find different specs in the Panasonic website.
Uuuugghhhhhh Sam you are making my eyes wander to the GH6!😂 We also use S5 & S1 for our production company BUT the feature I cant stop thinking about is the open gate 4:3 sensor on the GH6. Most of our clients request horizontal and vertical video now and having that aspect ratio makes bouncing between the two SO easy.
The open gate 4:3 with a vertical 16:9 film marker layed over it is such a help when shooting horizontal and vertical for social media. (see Tyler Stalman)

one of the most fun cameras ive ever used is the BlackMagic 4k and that is also m4/3rds. I think its the best bang for your buck, but the image out of the GH6 looks pretty darn good!
IMO I still prefer the "full frame" look of the S5 tbqh,but the GH6's also a great camera with one of the best if not the best IBIS on the market right now,ideal for travel photography/videography tbh Pair it with a set of 12-35 and 35-100,2 lightweight and very sharp Lumix lens and you're good to go

The biggest factor pulling me to this camera is the stabalisation and ergonomics. It's just a tough job to move from FF to M34. Its an interesting time for camera manufacturers in a declining market. I reckon some big decisions are going to have to be made over the next few years.

Really interested as to sharpness of the GH6 image compared to the Sony a7s III. The 4k modes of the Canon R5, Sony A1 and even the Sony a7 IV (though limited to 30fps) are a real step up in IQ over the a7s III due to the massive oversampling which the a7s III cannot do at 12mp. Would seem the GH6 is the only video centric hybrid camera that has significantly oversampled 4k in 10-bit all the way up to 120fps (in NTSC) at an enthusiast level price point.

I'm not in any camera system yet, starting afresh... shooting events / B-roll / possibly weddings. £2,199 for the GH6 with the 12-60mm Leica Lens. I hope there is another version of gh6, maybe gh6s-- get the pixels down to 12mp, and equip the dual native ISO and PDAF, and, the most important, don't get away off the IBIS. That will be a dream 4/3 camera for me.
Nice to see express love for the GH6 and M4/3 in general. One thing I noticed when you did the side by side with Dynamic Range Boost on/off it seems that with it off there was more detail. The colors was somewhat different also but who's to say which one was more true-to-life

I sold my bmpcc4k for a gh6. In my opinion the gh6 is ultimately far more capable than the bmpcc4k was. Sure it doesn't have raw video yet, but it will. And it does so much the bmpcc4k doesn't.
@@cheeeeezewizzz of course, I dont think that for someone who wants more features out of a camera will ignore this little beast but, for me all I need in a camera at this point in my career is just Image Quality and Dynamic Range (I dont care what other compromises will entail to focus on these two things) the 2000 ISO and the noticeable light streaks from the sensor really kept me from buying a GH6. I firmly believe that my G9 + BMPCC 4k combined achieve more that what the GH6 does.
@@eddieriosyt The 2000 iso looks amazing out of camera (way better than my pocket 4k did) and after 2 weeks of intentionally shooting against backlights to try and replicate the light streaking I still haven't managed to reproduce it out in the field while shooting events and the like. I've only been able to cause it to pop up in controlled environments when I try to make it show up. Out and about? Not in 1 of 3000 images so far.
@@eddieriosyt oh worth pointing out that all cmos sensors have the streaking issue to various degrees. It is a flaw of the technology itself They hide it in software. Panasonic has already said the issue will be fixed. Considering the massive firmware updates they do (such as the g9) its easy to believe the "issue" will be eliminated.
I have (2) S5 cameras and the S1H and I considered the GH6 but the color was my biggest concern and THANK YOU for mentioning that! For some shoots, I don’t like to spend too much time trying to match color profiles. That’s the only turn off; otherwise, I would definitely save up for this little beast!
You've got a nice voice to listen to, good to hear you're enthusiastic about your camera :)! Have you also tried Fuji camera's for video? They also got some great colors!
Going with fast glass is the way with m43-voigtlanders are special - get the 17.5, 25 and 42 and you are getting a full frame esque result with the small size and functionality of the gh body. Been shooting gh forever and looking back- my best shots were on those lenses
That is my workflow. I have both a 5 and 5s. Got the 5s for event work on gimbal with the better dynamic range. Think the 6 replaces that. Love the Voigtlanders as well.
I have to send you my camera settings. I promise you when you see my setting you are going to appreciate this camera even more. They are so structured and Swiss army style. Really opens up your creativity when shooting.
I'm surprised at the color difference, as a G9 shooter I'm hoping for an update that's more photography centric. And of course the main competition for a revised G9 is the new OM1 which has amazing autofocus for birds and wildlife. The video features of the GH6 though are tempting. I shoot a lot of slow motion and the options look really useful.
When watching our Bali video’s on our tv set at 3.5m, my better half is very happy with the IQ and focus. Unlike me she has not been hammered with hunting/pulsing stuff into her head by marketing or some YT reviewers. Nor does she suffers from GAS. I have a……….gh5 fw 2.8. A PL 14-140mm for daytime and a Sigma 16mm 1.4 for lowlight , recording in FHD. I just do run and gun, no stresstests 😀😂 Oh, in low light outside, AFC may sometimes go AWOL, I use FCP. 😛 Frans
I can’t wait to use it. The images look good. I used to use the Sony a6100 and I had a lot of issues with it. Overheating was one of the main ones. So bad, I just sold it for cheap.
At around 5:48 when you compared the Sony 16 to the 12 on the Lumix zoom I like the Gh6 image way better. Color’s and texture on point and the Sony looked cold, clinical, and too sharp.
Totally!!! The colours in the GH6 are so much more natural. I don’t know why the wall was blue/green on the Sony!! I think people are tricked into thinking the Sony looks good because it’s clean and vibrant. But it doesn’t have that sauce! 🎥 thanks for watching
I owned a GH5 and a GH5s before I made the jump to the S5. The GH6 might be intriguing to try out, but since I switched to full frame I'd rather buy a second S5. I agree, if the AF of the GH6 could be in the S5... I just started dreaming :-)
BTW if you wanted something wider lens wise the 8-18 f2.8-4.0 Leica would do the job, 16mm full frame equivalent which matches the Sony you compared against.
Lovely camera, you played with an S1H at all? I had a little bash on Friday at the BSC Expo and was really impressed. I'm a GH5 homie, and so I'm on side/biased with Panasonic delivering an amazing image, was stoked to see the S1H being so beautiful, actually... What caught my eye the most interestingly was a BS1H, they had it beautifully rigged with a nice handle and PortKeys monitor - If you don't need Photo side, the box design was pretty nice!! 2.0 crop factor so you're 12mm was 24mm equivalent. I expect the GH6 tech to be coming to the full frame side very soon
Well, judging by the video at the end of the S5 gives the best color! But of course Gh6 was compared in color with Nikon Z30? they say Nikon also has a very good color!
I have all the GH series now from GH1 to GH6 and i ll keep thme for ever like sony canon nikon fuji series which are great also i love this cameras for live events shot movies portraits sports ...;
I would love see it used in tracking shots, follow shots, dolly in/out moves all hand held. What can this ibis really do and can it save me money by not buying gimbals, sliders etc.

You know, Casey Neistat saw the light, before there was IBIS in the GH-series :) ... The GH story started with the GH3 and then took off with the GH4. The GH6 just boots it into the next decade. Oh, and M43 is 2:1 crop. So 12mm is 24mm full frame viewing angle equivalent.
Of course it is not a vlogging camera .... for vlogging for RUclips, Facebook, TikTok in the city the best camera is a Cell Phone .... but if you film sports or targets were you need a combination of a good zoom and small lens ( car racing, regattas, birds, air shows, ski competitions, etc .... ) it is the camera needed compared to a full frame where you need a "bazooka" lens. If what you do outdoors fits inside a cube the size of a room, then the GH6 is not for you. If you want great lens at a lower cost the m4/3 format is for you. If you want to show-off how big you lens is the M4/3 format is not for you.
You should do an AF test doing a talking headshot with Christmas-type lights in the background so that you can see the pulsing problem. The way you're testing it here, it's hard to see the AF pulsing happening.
So you're purposely defining a situation to show the weekness? In a real world scenario (no christmas lights, no YT style color background) how often does that happen? I'm also disappointed they sticked to the contrast based AF. But it seems by every generation of the implementation things became better and better, up to a point where only special individual scenarios needed to be emphasized to identify the last remaining disadvantages. Have we reached exactly that point now?
Hi Sam, which air vent is the exhaust, I/O port side or shutter button side? Currently use my GH5 on a shoulder rig (right shoulder), so curious if the exhaust vent will blow air on my face (if it's on the I/O port side).
I've been looking at the GH6 mainly because I could use the 10-25 f1.7. Its exactly my FF lens range of 20mm to 50mm. I downloaded some GH6 files - they were a series of clips 4-5 second long hand held. When I applied tripod stabalisation from final cut Pro the files literally didn't move one pixel - you really wouldn't need a tripod.
yeah that's great and all aside from the MASSIVE sensor streak issue it's prone to have when pointing at high contrast light sources like a window, etc. I own 4 GH5s and this is the reason I wont upgrade to the GH6.
Fuji X-T4 has had most of those features for ages, better auto focus, good stabilisation and a larger sensor (so not so subject to noise, and easier to get wider). Colours also amazing. Oh and it is also smaller (more portable) and cheaper. Just saying - I am not sure why this is seen as so revolutionary TBH.
Yeah, but kinda nobody asked you anything about XT4( crappy camera, by the way, worst ergonomics, small, cryptic, I returned it in 4 days). Lumixes are a pleasure to work with from the getgo, they are an extension of your arm, they push you out of the house

Nice camera, but for $2,700 you might as well just go full frame and get the A7iv if your a shooter with some video or A7Siii if you're primarily video with occasional stills. The MFT sensor is just so limiting.
Ooooo it’s a tough one! I liked the GH6 but wish it was full frame. I think if they bring out an S6, I’ll be having that! BUT in the meantime, I choose the S5
I recently got the gh6 and have used it a couple times so far but I'm getting static/noise in vlog, even during the day. Is this happening with anyone else? Some of the images I've seen from this thing are incredible, but this static/noise issue is driving me nuts. Some of the luts I've put on improve the images but some images are straight garbage. I knew exactly what to do with iso on my gh5 and its limits, but what's the deal here?
The GH5 really disappointed me when shooting video of moving subjects like birds flying or planes landing. As soon is a have to follow/pan the subject, even very slow following, a lot of jitter and judder occurs in the recordings. For me, as a wildlife videographer, it made the GH5 practically completely unusable. Do you know if this serious jitter problem is solved on the GH6? Did you do a jitter test?
A few months ago Gerald Undone did a video on 'what camera gear do YTs use'. 39 YT content creators were asked. Results are: Sony: 28 Canon: 5 Panasonic: 3 Fujifilm: 1 Nikon: 1 Red: 1 PS- not a single m4/3
Since when RUclipsrs are the benchmark for video proficiency? Most of them are not even content creators anymore, if they ever were to start with. Check the best channel for luxury real estate, mansions worth tens of millions of dollars, the Canadians from Lifestyle Production Group( LPG channel). They are so successful and well off that I thought they use Arri or Reds. In multiple comments they revealed that they used the ...Gh5. Tony and Chelsea used GH5 for years. Three Blind Men the same. Most RUclipsrs can use even a Sony A6300 and nobody would tell the difference
@@adrianpocea2287 Sure, you can even use a point-and-shoot camera to take real-estate pics. My comment above talked about 'content creators'. Any motion and Panny will struggle. For anything completely stationary GH6 is great.
The thing here is… 39 youtubers were asked. That’s a small number compared to the millions of people who use different cameras for their work. Personally for RUclips, I like full frame, but after having used the cropped sensor it looked stunning. The crop would take some getting used to and the noise levels. But it doesn’t mean that nobody would ever want to use them ever again. Let’s all be nice to each other 🤩🙏🏻 great to have discussions though 🎥🎥🎥

Good idea! Full video coming on Monday of GH6 vs S5. I haven’t tried Canon lenses on the S5 yet but wanted to. Not sure how well they’d work with AF though 🤔 tamron and sigma have some interesting options though. I haven’t actually shot 6k raw with the ninja yet but I am planning on going out to do that soon! 🤩 stay tuned. You can't go wrong with either tbh. It depends on what you want though. As a hybrid the S5 is most likely better. And of course in low light the S5 is a beast. But the GH6 has more features, has a full size HDMI port, and is a beast at video too. Personally I went with the S5 but you definitely won't be disappointed either way. I still cant believe how good the handheld footage is out the S5. I leave my gimbal at home now. It's that good. And to think the GH6 is the same or better lol. Wow

Hi Billy, I'm considering different cameras to shift from my gx80, and the g9 is ones of them. Are you sure about the 10 bit? I thought it was only 8 bit and can not find different specs in the Panasonic website.
Uuuugghhhhhh Sam you are making my eyes wander to the GH6!😂 We also use S5 & S1 for our production company BUT the feature I cant stop thinking about is the open gate 4:3 sensor on the GH6. Most of our clients request horizontal and vertical video now and having that aspect ratio makes bouncing between the two SO easy.

The open gate 4:3 with a vertical 16:9 film marker layed over it is such a help when shooting horizontal and vertical for social media. (see Tyler Stalman)

one of the most fun cameras ive ever used is the BlackMagic 4k and that is also m4/3rds. I think its the best bang for your buck, but the image out of the GH6 looks pretty darn good!

IMO I still prefer the "full frame" look of the S5 tbqh,but the GH6's also a great camera with one of the best if not the best IBIS on the market right now,ideal for travel photography/videography tbh
Pair it with a set of 12-35 and 35-100,2 lightweight and very sharp Lumix lens and you're good to go

The biggest factor pulling me to this camera is the stabalisation and ergonomics. It's just a tough job to move from FF to M34. Its an interesting time for camera manufacturers in a declining market. I reckon some big decisions are going to have to be made over the next few years.

Really interested as to sharpness of the GH6 image compared to the Sony a7s III. The 4k modes of the Canon R5, Sony A1 and even the Sony a7 IV (though limited to 30fps) are a real step up in IQ over the a7s III due to the massive oversampling which the a7s III cannot do at 12mp. Would seem the GH6 is the only video centric hybrid camera that has significantly oversampled 4k in 10-bit all the way up to 120fps (in NTSC) at an enthusiast level price point.

I think the 12mm on the gh6 is better for vlogging as you expect to be close in on who is talking etc, the other guys was too wide for that.
I hope there is another version of gh6, maybe gh6s-- get the pixels down to 12mp, and equip the dual native ISO and PDAF, and, the most important, don't get away off the IBIS. That will be a dream 4/3 camera for me.
Nice to see express love for the GH6 and M4/3 in general. One thing I noticed when you did the side by side with Dynamic Range Boost on/off it seems that
with it off there was more detail. The colors was somewhat different also but who's to say which one was more true-to-life

Awesome vid man! I'm so close to buying one myself but I'm stuck between this camera or just getting me a second BMPCC4K. I'll be honest I cringed a bit watching you guys trying to figure out the full frame equivalent of that 12mm lens 😂 (12x2=24)
I sold my bmpcc4k for a gh6. In my opinion the gh6 is ultimately far more capable than the bmpcc4k was. Sure it doesn't have raw video yet, but it will. And it does so much the bmpcc4k doesn't.
@@cheeeeezewizzz of course, I dont think that for someone who wants more features out of a camera will ignore this little beast but, for me all I need in a camera at this point in my career is just Image Quality and Dynamic Range (I dont care what other compromises will entail to focus on these two things) the 2000 ISO and the noticeable light streaks from the sensor really kept me from buying a GH6. I firmly believe that my G9 + BMPCC 4k combined achieve more that what the GH6 does.
@@eddieriosyt The 2000 iso looks amazing out of camera (way better than my pocket 4k did) and after 2 weeks of intentionally shooting against backlights to try and replicate the light streaking I still haven't managed to reproduce it out in the field while shooting events and the like.
I've only been able to cause it to pop up in controlled environments when I try to make it show up. Out and about? Not in 1 of 3000 images so far.

@@eddieriosyt oh worth pointing out that all cmos sensors have the streaking issue to various degrees. It is a flaw of the technology itself They hide it in software. Panasonic has already said the issue will be fixed. Considering the massive firmware updates they do (such as the g9) its easy to believe the "issue" will be eliminated.
I have (2) S5 cameras and the S1H and I considered the GH6 but the color was my biggest concern and THANK YOU for mentioning that! For some shoots, I don’t like to spend too much time trying to match color profiles. That’s the only turn off; otherwise, I would definitely save up for this little beast!

Going with fast glass is the way with m43-voigtlanders are special - get the 17.5, 25 and 42 and you are getting a full frame esque result with the small size and functionality of the gh body. Been shooting gh forever and looking back- my best shots were on those lenses
That is my workflow. I have both a 5 and 5s. Got the 5s for event work on gimbal with the better dynamic range. Think the 6 replaces that. Love the Voigtlanders as well.
I have to send you my camera settings. I promise you when you see my setting you are going to appreciate this camera even more. They are so structured and Swiss army style. Really opens up your creativity when shooting.

I'm surprised at the color difference, as a G9 shooter I'm hoping for an update that's more photography centric. And of course the main competition for a revised G9 is the new OM1 which has amazing autofocus for birds and wildlife. The video features of the GH6 though are tempting. I shoot a lot of slow motion and the options look really useful.

When watching our Bali video’s on our tv set at 3.5m, my better half is very happy with the IQ and focus. Unlike me she has not been hammered with hunting/pulsing stuff into her head by marketing or some YT reviewers. Nor does she suffers from GAS. I have a……….gh5 fw 2.8. A PL 14-140mm for daytime and a Sigma 16mm 1.4 for lowlight , recording in FHD. I just do run and gun, no stresstests 😀😂
Oh, in low light outside, AFC may sometimes go AWOL, I use FCP. 😛 Frans
I can’t wait to use it. The images look good. I used to use the Sony a6100 and I had a lot of issues with it. Overheating was one of the main ones. So bad, I just sold it for cheap.

At around 5:48 when you compared the Sony 16 to the 12 on the Lumix zoom I like the Gh6 image way better. Color’s and texture on point and the Sony looked cold, clinical, and too sharp.
Totally!!! The colours in the GH6 are so much more natural. I don’t know why the wall was blue/green on the Sony!! I think people are tricked into thinking the Sony looks good because it’s clean and vibrant. But it doesn’t have that sauce! 🎥 thanks for watching
I owned a GH5 and a GH5s before I made the jump to the S5. The GH6 might be intriguing to try out, but since I switched to full frame I'd rather buy a second S5. I agree, if the AF of the GH6 could be in the S5... I just started dreaming :-)
BTW if you wanted something wider lens wise the 8-18 f2.8-4.0 Leica would do the job, 16mm full frame equivalent which matches the Sony you compared against.

Lovely camera, you played with an S1H at all? I had a little bash on Friday at the BSC Expo and was really impressed. I'm a GH5 homie, and so I'm on side/biased with Panasonic delivering an amazing image, was stoked to see the S1H being so beautiful, actually... What caught my eye the most interestingly was a BS1H, they had it beautifully rigged with a nice handle and PortKeys monitor - If you don't need Photo side, the box design was pretty nice!! 2.0 crop factor so you're 12mm was 24mm equivalent. I expect the GH6 tech to be coming to the full frame side very soon

Well, judging by the video at the end of the S5 gives the best color! But of course Gh6 was compared in color with Nikon Z30? they say Nikon also has a very good color!

I feel like Sony takes alot of post work. My Oly setup is so quick to edit. At times I feel lazy enough to just use the JPEG.
I do love this camera for the portability but "best quality" black magic still takes it. Though this camera is a beast.

You know, Casey Neistat saw the light, before there was IBIS in the GH-series :) ... The GH story started with the GH3 and then took off with the GH4. The GH6 just boots it into the next decade.
Oh, and M43 is 2:1 crop. So 12mm is 24mm full frame viewing angle equivalent.

Of course it is not a vlogging camera .... for vlogging for RUclips, Facebook, TikTok in the city the best camera is a Cell Phone .... but if you film sports or targets were you need a combination of a good zoom and small lens ( car racing, regattas, birds, air shows, ski competitions, etc .... ) it is the camera needed compared to a full frame where you need a "bazooka" lens. If what you do outdoors fits inside a cube the size of a room, then the GH6 is not for you. If you want great lens at a lower cost the m4/3 format is for you. If you want to show-off how big you lens is the M4/3 format is not for you.
Will you produce a video that shows the gh6 and RS4 pro with the 12-60 lens?
You should do an AF test doing a talking headshot with Christmas-type lights in the background so that you can see the pulsing problem. The way you're testing it here, it's hard to see the AF pulsing happening.
So you're purposely defining a situation to show the weekness? In a real world scenario (no christmas lights, no YT style color background) how often does that happen?
I'm also disappointed they sticked to the contrast based AF. But it seems by every generation of the implementation things became better and better, up to a point where only special individual scenarios needed to be emphasized to identify the last remaining disadvantages. Have we reached exactly that point now?

Hi Sam, which air vent is the exhaust, I/O port side or shutter button side? Currently use my GH5 on a shoulder rig (right shoulder), so curious if the exhaust vent will blow air on my face (if it's on the I/O port side).
I've been looking at the GH6 mainly because I could use the 10-25 f1.7. Its exactly my FF lens range of 20mm to 50mm.
I downloaded some GH6 files - they were a series of clips 4-5 second long hand held. When I applied tripod stabalisation from final cut Pro the files literally didn't move one pixel - you really wouldn't need a tripod.

yeah that's great and all aside from the MASSIVE sensor streak issue it's prone to have when pointing at high contrast light sources like a window, etc. I own 4 GH5s and this is the reason I wont upgrade to the GH6.
Fuji X-T4 has had most of those features for ages, better auto focus, good stabilisation and a larger sensor (so not so subject to noise, and easier to get wider). Colours also amazing. Oh and it is also smaller (more portable) and cheaper. Just saying - I am not sure why this is seen as so revolutionary TBH.

Nice camera, but for $2,700 you might as well just go full frame and get the A7iv if your a shooter with some video or A7Siii if you're primarily video with occasional stills. The MFT sensor is just so limiting.

I recently got the gh6 and have used it a couple times so far but I'm getting static/noise in vlog, even during the day. Is this happening with anyone else? Some of the images I've seen from this thing are incredible, but this static/noise issue is driving me nuts. Some of the luts I've put on improve the images but some images are straight garbage. I knew exactly what to do with iso on my gh5 and its limits, but what's the deal here?

The GH5 really disappointed me when shooting video of moving subjects like birds flying or planes landing. As soon is a have to follow/pan the subject, even very slow following, a lot of jitter and judder occurs in the recordings. For me, as a wildlife videographer, it made the GH5 practically completely unusable. Do you know if this serious jitter problem is solved on the GH6? Did you do a jitter test?
It is obvious that it is not solved. Going back and forth is the basis of contrast detect autofocus, so it is there.
For content creation i'll stick to 6K Photo mode on my G9 and shooting in open gate. The quality is ridiculous from such an under rated camera !

A few months ago Gerald Undone did a video on 'what camera gear do YTs use'. 39 YT content creators were asked. Results are:
Sony: 28
Canon: 5
Panasonic: 3
Fujifilm: 1
Nikon: 1
Red: 1
PS- not a single m4/3
Since when RUclipsrs are the benchmark for video proficiency? Most of them are not even content creators anymore, if they ever were to start with. Check the best channel for luxury real estate, mansions worth tens of millions of dollars, the Canadians from Lifestyle Production Group( LPG channel). They are so successful and well off that I thought they use Arri or Reds. In multiple comments they revealed that they used the ...Gh5. Tony and Chelsea used GH5 for years. Three Blind Men the same. Most RUclipsrs can use even a Sony A6300 and nobody would tell the difference

The thing here is… 39 youtubers were asked. That’s a small number compared to the millions of people who use different cameras for their work. Personally for RUclips, I like full frame, but after having used the cropped sensor it looked stunning. The crop would take some getting used to and the noise levels. But it doesn’t mean that nobody would ever want to use them ever again.

I haven’t tried Canon lenses on the S5 yet but wanted to. Not sure how well they’d work with AF though 🤔 tamron and sigma have some interesting options though.
I haven’t actually shot 6k raw with the ninja yet but I am planning on going out to do that soon! 🤩 stay tuned. I did have a play with it quickly and it looks good 👌🏻🎥 just don’t want to comment until I’ve properly tested it.

You can't go wrong with either tbh. It depends on what you want though. As a hybrid the S5 is most likely better. And of course in low light the S5 is a beast. But the GH6 has more features, has a full size HDMI port, and is a beast at video too. Personally I went with the S5 but you definitely won't be disappointed either way. I still cant believe how good the handheld footage is out the S5. I leave my gimbal at home now. It's that good. And to think the GH6 is the same or better lol. Wow
