I'm a 74 year old with arthritis in my hands. Your advice regarding hand and thumb tension, and the Rulon thumb rest, has restored my ability to play comfortably. Thank you!

Do you have any tips on holding a straight or bent neck soprano? More difficult, as your thumbs do support the weight.@@robertyoungsax

I've been letting it hang on the strap and bending over more than is desirable

Thanks for this advice . My fingers tend to tense up when I’m learning a new piece resulting in finger pain at night .
Will definitely be doing what you recommend .
    Great clip 👍🏽

Thank you for the advice! I struggle with right thumb pain while playing alto sitting down, as Ill try and push the bottom away from me to level out my mouthpiece.
Ill try playing sitting down without using my right thumb and see what happens!

I really like your advice for practicing. But the background music in your video is annoying and very distracting. Is there any way to remove that? Is there a button I can press?
