In my opinion since we are all stating them . I honestly loved both bands . Jsu tubas and pv tubas were at each other's necks but in my eyes both bands won .song choices were really great pv has improved miraculously I think both of them showed out .
Wow not sure how I missed this battle. PVAMU came to play!!! PVAMU sounds better. Tone quality, intonation, pitch, and balance were better than jsu. JSU had the volume and intensity. Their mellos never leave me disappointed. What is disappointing is musicianship took backseat to volume on many selections. Tone and intonation was hit and miss. There were a few tempo problems as well. JSU's trumpets are getting drowned out too. I'm not sure what is going on with the boom but they're not as clean and attentive to musicianship as years prior. Volume isn't everything!!! I give it to PVAMU. they were cleaner and better balanced and still had good volume. I think JSU took these boys lightly. You cant do that. I see other bands in the SWAC(Alcorn, AAMU, PVAMU, ASU) are stepping it up.

SU sound and seemingly arrangements changed Im guessing with arrival of current BD on staff...so SU had been my preference with the exception of 2012-2014 when Taylor was on staff...and cleaned up field and sound....

Narasukedon that could've been an option as well but might as well have the brass centralized so the sound could go directly to the center of the opposing band, my opinion. Plus it's a unique setup a lot of people liked it.
