The process was explained briefly, concise and direct to the point. A great help to someone like me who always forgot my key.
Friend friend friend. DID it at last. Followed the link youtve sent me for the tmax 530. After inserting OLD key code, I followed the steps as per manual, got a red light on the new key, pressed the key button on the new jey and that was it. Registered successfully. Man, really appreciate your patience and efford. Best channel❤️

Great step by step tutorial. Let the key activated without pressing de button, while pressing the knob for 5sec the smartkey will automatically light you key red light, and then you press once on the button, and you hear a bip. Great work, saving alot of money!
I tried the remote led light on for 10sec i pressed once but my Xmax300 doesn’t register. Do you know why?

hi brother, my sgcu in my nmax 2022 is dead and there is no place i can buy a new one. If i buy the same model sgcu from same bike but its used from ebay can i put in my bike and use my own key or do i have to program the ecu?
You can't, friend. You must program the ECU first before using it.

Sorry, I can't yet. For this job, it seems like you need special tools. Usually keyless and immobilizer specialists can handle it.

HI. my name is Vik. I purchased used Yamaha X Max 250 (YP250RA) 2018 from Japan. I live in Kazakhstan. So the scooter was used and with only one remote key and without ID code card. I decided to purchase new remote control unite (one key included) and a separate one, just to have 2 keys from my scooter. I made a change of main remote control unit by it not working. I disconnected battery, then it opens, main panel is ON, but engine is not starts. Error 54 appears on panel. I found the error code meaning but i don’t know how to solve the problem. I don’t have official Yamaha dealer in my city. Could you please give me an advise on my problem?

Hi Vik,
If I look, code 54 is an error code that leads to ISC (Idle Speed Control). This component is in the Throttle body area. When the ISC has a problem, it will be difficult for the engine to start normally.
Has the new remote you bought gone through the registration process for the motorbike?
smart key indicator light never turns on, i'm not sure how it would do this anyway, the smart key system ahs no idea the code in the new smart key becaus we used the original smart key code, these directiosn are not very good

Very detailed and GREAT video, BUT I have one question. I have a 2016 tmax 530 with one smart key. I have purchased a second smart key, trying to register it but I cannot. I think I am missing something here on the procedure. Lets say that the existing key has ID 1234 and the new key has ID 5678.
After raising seat 3 tumes I insert new keystID#5678 but something seems to be wrong. New key cannot be registered. But after watching your video again and again... While performing the emergency mode procedure, just after raising seat 3 times, SHOULD I FIRSTLY insert first key's ID#1234 before inserting new key's ID#5678? Thanks

In your video, when you enter the OLD key code, you enter only 3 digits like "1-1-1"and the light blinks differently. Why only 3 digits?

Lets say I have a yamaha tmax with 2 registered keys on it. I take the 2nd key to a friends house, who also has a yamaha tmax, and using the procedure, I try to register this (ALREADY REGISTERED) key, onto his tmax. Is it possible? Or this key must be deleted from my tmax to be registered on the other tmax? 🙄. Thanks
When you register your Smartkey to your friend's TMax, your Smartkey will automatically move to your friend's TMax and cannot be used on your motorbike.
This also applies to the Key ID that also moves to your friend's TMax

I have the xmax 250 - 2023 model. Gotten spare smart key and is stuck at the point where the smart key lights is on, but when i press, it doesnt register. And advice?
There are 2 possible causes for the registration process not being successful: The old smartkey was on during the registration process, the new smartkey doesn't match the vehicle unit (try checking the spare part code on the Yamaha part catalog)

My friend how about if there is 0 on key id how to encode the number 0?
On the Yamaha motorbike ID Key, there is no number 0, so there is only a combination of numbers 1 to 8

Hi, what if there are allready 6 keys registred and you want to add another one? On my Xmax 400 there are 6 registred keys (3 previous owners) and now I have lost the sixth one...I have a new original key but I can not register it... How can I solve this problem? thx
There are 2 options. The first is to replace the Module (Smart unit), Remote (Smart key) and ECU. The second option, Reset the module (Smart Unit) to delete the stored Code/Key ID data using a special tool for program keys.

Yes. You can deactivate the lost Smartkey. The important point is, you have registered a new Smartkey first. After that, just deactivate the lost Smartkey.
I lost my original key last week. I bought a new remote and try all the steps. I already encoded the new code for the new remote and successfully installed it. But the problem is that I can still use the old code for emergency mode. Can u help me to totally delete the old code. Thanks

We can register a new Smartkey even if the old Smartkey is ON, provided that the old Smartkey is outside the working distance (more than 1 meter)

I haven't found this answer from the Service manual, owner's manual or other sources of information. But in my opinion, as long as the Smartkey is successfully registered, it won't be a problem.
It's the same as what I've experienced, I've used 1 type of Yamaha smartkey that can be used for several types of Yamaha motorbikes, namely: Nmax, Aerox, XMax, FreeGo, Lexi.
I lost my original smartkey yesterday n i dont hv the 6 digit code for it. Is it still possible for me to register a new smartkey with its code?

I did the disable process to disable the old smartkey and code but i can still used the old emergency code
Try repeating the process again from the beginning. If necessary, keep the remote/smartkey away which will be disabled when repeating the process.
How about you lost the smart key and you don't remember it? What will i do? I try to buy new remote but i cannot duplicate it because my problem is i lost the smart key of my motorcycle

this didn't work for me. I got the light on the fey fob to light up after emergency code entered and it did not register after I pressed Botton. The new fob was on (quick blink) and the old fob was off (slow blink). The part number on the new fob is the exact same part number as the original fob SKEA7D-03. This is a 2023 XMAX.
When I checked the Yamaha parts catalog, the code from the Yamaha XMAX Smartkey was B5X-H6261-44
What you are stating is the Yamaha Part Number. The model number of the key (which is manufactured by Mitsubishi) is SKEA7D-03 that is clearly stamped on both the original from Yamaha and the replacement key I purchased. @@GINZAMOTOR

@@GINZAMOTOR yes - the keys are identical down to the exact same stampings on them but the new key won't register.
@@bscheffel I have experienced that the registration process was unsuccessful just because of a different part number. At that time I was using a remote with part code B74-H6261-10 which always failed to register. After I replaced the remote with part code B74-H6261-40, it was successfully registered.

The old Smartkey cannot be used if the key ID is disabled.
The old Smartkey can be used again if Key ID is reactivated

The most important thing is that the old Smartkey is still there and in good condition

I've never handled a Yamaha Tricity.
I think it's the same for the Smartkey mechanism and system.

But to ensure that the Smartkey code matches your Tricity, you can check the Yamaha parts catalog application which can be downloaded on the Play Store and AppStore.
If u lost the only Smart key u have can u just order and activate the new one without the old lost key.

I don't understand what you mean, but the spare part code on the packaging box B74-H6261-02. The problem that I have is when I hold the knob for 5 seconds, I hear a buzzer sound and the indicator light was on, and my new smart key also lights on for 10 seconds. @@stanleyng5526 I have also experienced something like you. All procedures are correct, but Smartkey fails to register. At that time I was working on the Yamaha Aerox MY2022. Apparently, the problem was with Smartkey. I used a Smartkey with the spare part code (B74-H6261-10). After I replaced the Smartkey with B74-H6261-40 it worked. You can also use Smartkey with spare part code B2T-H6261-44. I only found out about this after consulting with the Yamaha Authorized Service Shop spare parts division. If I may, what year was your Yamaha XMAX produced?

To delete a lost smartkey, it can be done using a special tool that can be found on the market. One of them is "Autoshop Smart tool"

As far as I know, I can register up to six smart keys, but if I lose five while registering and using six smart keys, can I delete the lost smart keys and add five new ones?
Yes, you can remove the missing smartkey and add a new one using a special tool, you can get the tool in the marketplace. One of them is Autoshop Smart tool.
Guys can be prigrammed new remote fob, without ID card, if bike have one key fob and want to programme aditional fob, but dont have original code card of old fob?
