I LOVED that the song did that blend. I get that it’s undoubtedly a difficult listen for some, but as someone who is very familiar with that kind of sonic juxtaposition [big fan of Stephen Sondheim’s music] I was very happy that it closed out the track.
I love how mature and emotional this song is too. My favourite part is how the chorus goes from very bare and minimal the 1st time to really full and almost orchestral in the last one thanks to the strings
WayV is a genius group - everything about them is just so way beyond what one expects from a group. I think a big part is that their lyrics are always so poetic and meaningful, particularly when they are in Chinese. Music wise, I love that WayV integrates strings, orchestral, and traditional sounds (depending on the song). They just know how to make it all work, and combined with their voices that just blend in so well with each other, mannnnn.
I'm not sure if you listen to much C-Pop. But most of the more popular C-Pop songs are ballads. They use a lot of strings and keys. The lyrics are always super poetic too. I feel like WayV is all that. Just more pop. I absolutely love it.
@milksomecows yes!! I was actually into a couple of C-Pop artists before moving into K-Pop, and I 100% agree. I'm a huge ballad lover, so that's also where I started! I also fell in love with a lot of Chinese RnB! Which I guess is why I love WayV so much - it's kind of a mixture of both my favorite genres!

When I tell you I almost cried the first time I heard this. I love this album. It’s a fresh take for WayV but their essence is very much still there!!

Breathing into a paper bag, when you are hyperventilating helps to lower the oxygen level in your blood and raise the CO2 level. A lot of times, hyperventilation causes over oxygenation of the blood, which is actually bad (oddly enough), because you also need a balance of CO2 in your blood.

So insane to me that dame diddy didn't like the end, it's legit my fav part of the song but I've always liked when songs mesh up two diff elements of the song, sonically to me it will never not work lol the chaos is so pretty to me but loved the reaction y'all I've been waiting for you guys to tune in!!

Whole album is great. Vocals are top-tier.
This build up reminded me so much of what Infinite did with their song Back! The drop was more dancey than hip hop but the start was very slow and dramatic. I love it!
