amazing video. your effort really shows :) i love all the little oni specific jokes and you summed the named ingame mecanics amazingly up. Keep up the great work
Regarding the heat-exchanger-spreadsheet thing: That is definitely my thing, and part of why I've had a hard time getting into ONI is that it feels like it's impossible to succeed without throwing that out in some areas. My main problem was heat -- too much heat would accumulate without me having a way to deal with it, and then it would become impossible to grow crops. When I tried looking for solutions on the internet, all I found were ways to exploit game inaccuracies to delete heat from existence. That was profoundly unsatisfying for me. I tried a few times to race to the surface so that I could radiate heat into space, but I never got close to winning that race.
You can do it without exploiting but exploiting is usually easier. The way I usually deal with it is trying to rush glossy dreckos for plastics so that by the time I build my SPOM I can support a cooling loop with a gold aqua tuner. The cool O2 keeps things under control until you have enough steel to properly cool down your base. I hope that helps. Best of luck if you try again!
@@connorconquers A SPOM isn't really better than heat deletion to me -- it's still using inaccuracies to make problems go away, whereas I want the tools to come up with cool solutions that don't feel exploity. Learning how stuff like a SPOM works is cool in isolation, but when I'm actually playing a game with engineering vibes like ONI, stuff like that becomes distinctly uncool to me, doubly so if it feels like I can't get by in the game without using exploits.
I love the editing, the use of clips from the animated shorts is hilarious. Personally I don't like to use some of those weird exploits though. I don't even have infinite liquid storage, but maybe I am the weirdo.
Personally, I don't use many exploits. Mostly just boilers. I just love that you have the option. I've actually never used infinite liquid storage because one of my favorite things is watching my water supply grow. Makes me feel safe lol.

Great video! Editing was amazing. I've yet to make it to the later mid game to end game in ONI but this makes me want to give it another go. Hope to see more!
It’s 5am and i am in front of a whole design where i calculate how can i make the most efficient sour gas boiler using lava as fuel and no space materials

this was hilarious and informative. nicely done man. you should do a guide like this but for rimworld. the amount of conversation mods for that game alone is at least 10 video worth... think about it
I find a lot of people feel that way about this game and others like it. You really just have to adopt the "This is fine dog" mentality and roll with it.
Luma Plays has a bunch of quick build videos that tend to push the game to its limits. He's a relatively unknown creator that consistently puts out absolute gems. My favorite is his cool steam vent tamer.
That was a great video and I really enjoyed it! It definitely mirrors a lot of my playthroughs even though I usually get worn down before I get to space. The complexity and depth of the game is outstanding and I love that the devs allow if not intend for certain mechanics to be broken and exploited, it adds such a great layer to the gameplay and planning without ever feeling like it's unfair.
Damn, I'm shocked you don't have more subs! 0:19 gave me a good laugh! I recently saw someone describe how to play the game as: first build an outhouse. Then just put out fires lol
After finishing this video I was amazed that is only has 100 views and 20 likes, it is high enough quality it felt like something a _much_ bigger channel would make. Nicely done!
This Worst Guide to Oxygen Not Included (named by the author) is one of the best (in my humble opinion). I love this game, have spent more than 2K hours on it so far. Glad to see something like this about my favorite game. Thanks a lot for the guide!
the fact that this is such an entertaining video while also being really informative on the game is mindblowing to me seeing as you have so few subscribers. looking forward to more videos from you!
Can confirm, every single colony I’ve lost in this game has been due to my inability to stave off and/or harness the ever-encroaching grasp of *THE WARM* in time.
I found rushing glossy dreckos early for plastic and making golden aqua tuners can get it under control pretty quick. If you can get lucky with some cool to temperate hydrogen get those ranches up asap and you should be able to get a cooling loop ready by the time you build your first SPOM. Chilly O2 goes a long way with keeping the warm in check. Good luck!
@@connorconquers yeah, the plastic is the sticking point. I exclusively rely on Glossy Dreckos since Spaced Out! launched, since there’s little to no oil on the standard starting asteroid and I’ve learned how to progress fast enough through the mid-game that heat doesn’t have enough time to catch up with me. I think my last colony was mostly stable and safe from heat problems, but I got too many projects going at once and burned out on over-management.
@@OneBiasedOpinion That's my biggest gripe with the Spaced Out DLC. The hump to get to oil feels more tedious than fun. It's a shame because the DLC adds so much awesome stuff.

Really excellent video. Super cut, clean voice over and incredibly funny! You certainly have my subscription!
Thanks so much! It was a lot of fun to edit.
This is definitely one of the best ONI videos out there. I really like your video style and the Sonic reference fits ONI perfectly
Thanks so much! I almost cut the Sonic intro because it was so hard to find video of Sonic drowning long enough for me to talk over lol.
Playing this game efficiently is like trying to 100% Terria on your first playthrough without looking at the wiki
Exhilarating, isn't it?
You've been blessed by the algorithm, may numerous views and success come your way 😊
Excellent video, really enjoyed it! I vote for more video essays
Dont forget about blasting them with so much radiation that it makes Chernobyl look like a 5-star hotel because someone pissed themselves
Awesome video, it sum up every feelings you can experience in ONI. Great job, I hope to see more !
Thank you! Yeah, the true ONI experience can really just be summed up as "Enjoyable Frustration" lol
7:08sun shines, birds fly, and brother, the darkness is coming. Start digging
So many solutions in this game are just deeper and deeper pits.
amazing video. your effort really shows :)
i love all the little oni specific jokes and you summed the named ingame mecanics amazingly up.
Keep up the great work
Thank you! Honestly, Klei's shorts made editing this so much more fun. I'm so glad they're still making them.
Sour gas boilers are the true endgame fr
5:05 I am literally watching this right after adding one machinery dupe for this exact purpose XD
Great video, subscribing. Was surprised to see sub count, quality you'd expect from a much larger channel. Have a friend who've I'd told to check out this game, I'm going to send this as it does a great job explaining what you'd be getting into.
Thank you! It's such a fun game but it can be a hard sell since it's really overwhelming. I hope this put the game's complexity in a fun light so as to make it seem less daunting.
Great video! Editing was amazing. I've yet to make it to the later mid game to end game in ONI but this makes me want to give it another go. Hope to see more!
Don't give up! Check out how to make an "industrial brick". They're kinda the key to get over that mid-late game hump.
Thank you! I will definitely look into that. Appreciate you taking the time to give us some advice!!
It’s 5am and i am in front of a whole design where i calculate how can i make the most efficient sour gas boiler using lava as fuel and no space materials
Hell yeah 😎
Amazing vid man, definitely deserve some more subs my guy 👍
Thank you! I'm excited to make another!
5:05 Ethanol heat deletion: I'm about to ruin this man carreer
🤣
This is such a clusterfuck of a game I'm glad people are making amusing videos about it so I know with many examples why I do NOT want to play.
😂
I have been playing ONI since it was released into early access and this is the best introduction I have ever seen. Thank you - i think you should convert it into a series! ❤
honestly this vid is amazing lol, sums up the game, well, perfectly ;-; and great editing, somehow funny and informative, u did done good lol
Love the format, keep them coming!
Thanks! I plan to!
Bro, this is just awesome, now I have ultimate tool to make people play this game/ run away in fear. Thanks
By downplaying this games complexities and overloading the cute visuals we can trap more players for this community. Just like a CO2 hotel.
Perfect intro to ONI, super well done! Happy I watched it, this is oddly making me want to play it again.
"This time I'll build my base without any mistakes."
I was surprised when after watching, I realized you had less than 1000 subs. This is amazing content, keep it up!
Thanks, I plan to! I had about 45 subs when I posted this and I just hit 1k! I'm in shock tbh.
This is the second one of these videos that have directly resulted in me immediately going and purchasing the game
I hear 40k mechanicus noosphere, you funny man
In the grim darkness of cycle 3000, there is only carbon dioxide.
That opening... *chef's kiss*
I'm more proud of that than I care to admit
It should be renamed to Amazon Fulfillment Center Simulator
Nah, I actually want them go to the bathroom. Bezos doesn't understand the value he's missing out on.
This is crazy good quality content. Look forward to you posting in the future!
An editing and comedy masterpiece
My ego getting more over-pressurized than my dupe's living quarters tonight.
This randomly popped up in my recommended video feed cause I've been watching ONI content lately and I immediately hit subscribe just cause you're funny as hell and I'd like to help your numbers. I'd happily come back for more of these tightly-edited hilarious deep dives into more ONI content or other similar games.
Thank you! I have no idea what I'm gonna cover next but I'm glad people seem to be enjoying... whatever this was hahaha.
this was hilarious and informative. nicely done man.
you should do a guide like this but for rimworld. the amount of conversation mods for that game alone is at least 10 video worth...
think about it
Thanks! Rimworld terrifies me and you're not the first person to suggest this lol. I might have to give it a look >.>
I love this game and it always stresses me out too much to ever actually finish a moon. 10/10 would start over again.
I'll check them out!
Loved this. Very accurate and i share your love of dupe torture.
I don't actually love torturing them... I'm just gald to know I have the option. Unless it's Meep. Meep deserves it.
@@connorconquers Meep just had it coming!
I love a game that feels unfair but lets you unfair it right back.
Damn, I'm shocked you don't have more subs! 0:19 gave me a good laugh! I recently saw someone describe how to play the game as: first build an outhouse. Then just put out fires lol
That really is the jist of the game. Give 'em a bathroom and keep them alive. If you do that long enough someone ends up in space.
After finishing this video I was amazed that is only has 100 views and 20 likes, it is high enough quality it felt like something a _much_ bigger channel would make. Nicely done!
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it. I really pushed myself with the editing on this one. Glad it came through.
Thank you! Next video is being scripted now!
@@connorconquers I rather enjoy the challenge, but I do understand the gripe.
great video :) , the end reminds me of the ''fun'' things you can do in rimworld aswell
but other Oni streamer to mention is : Echo Ridge Gaming
Thanks! Rimworld is one of those games that looks so daunting to get into but I find utterly fascinating. Same with Factorio.
@@connorconquers its called ''Crack-torio'' for a reason, and you play it for 10 minuts and 3-4 hours have pasted :D
Brilliantly summarized. Can't speak to its quality as a guide for newcomers, but you did mention having all your rations eaten by a tantrum throwing dupe that's allergic to the morale-boosting and food-producing plants while drowning in piss and slimelung, so I'd say that covers basically everybody's first fifty hours with the game xD
that is some very solid production value! great garbage guide!
Thank you! "Great Garbage" is my new aspiration.
Yep. Great video. Your style works for me. New sub. :)
