I've had the Dyson V8 animal now for about 4 years and I'm looking to switch to this. I have a low profile carpet and tile. Any opinion on how this would compare to the dyson?
I had a Dyson prior to this. I never felt like I missed my Dyson.

Just got mine today from Costco for $125 , I thought it was a good enough deal, defiantly sucks up the pet hair , I do wish through that it last longer charge then it does.
So far I have been pleased with the battery life
$125? They are listing it today for $250 and that’s on sale. At $125, I would definitely buy one.
thanks for this review it was very helpful, one question if you have the time... does the main power brush head attach to the handle thereby eliminating the stick, it would be useful for doing stairs?
Yes you can disconnect from the stick to make it more of a handheld.

I dump mine in the toilet so that the pet dust and dander doesn’t get stirred into the air every time I open my garbage but my garbage can is on a track that would disperse it into the air way worse than a normal garbage can.

I wouldn't recommend that if you are on septic though. Hair does not biodegrade very well (at all) and dumping a quart of hair in it once or twice a week certainly won't do your system any favors over time. I simply dump in our outdoor can and rinse filters with the garden hose outside or in a 5gal bucket. .
Omg noooo do not dump into your toilet! It's going to clog over time. I take mine outside (to avoid any dust coming up when emptying the bin), and dump into a plastic grocery bag, tie it up tight, then toss that bag in my trash
