      just got my savanna this past summer and love it my first pellet grill i searched for a long time to find both affordability and the cooker that provided me with the options i wanted. you wont be as good on it as you were on your offset smoker until you do a few cooks and figure out the best smoke options i love the P4 setting at 180 degrees for the first few hours of my cook

    looks fine but i would recommend putting your fat trimming in the smoker to render then pour it over the brisket when you wrap it .....also place an aluminum pan under your brisket this will make clean up much easier and will greatly extend the life of your grill also help prevent grease fires if you user want to use the flame broiler

    Do you have any issues with your pit boss catching fire while you’re smoking? I have an Oklahoma Joes Rider DLX 1200 pellet grill and have had nothing but issues with it since I bought it.

      Ooff 😯
      No, no issues with 🔥
      I do clean it every 2-3 cooks get out all the ash, and any grease that might have made it past the heat diffuser.

    How do you change the target temp on p settings?

    • @BrandoninIowa1776
      @BrandoninIowa1776  4 месяца назад

      P or pause settings you almost have to think of as a different mode.
      Bummers Bar-B-Q actually did a good video explanation. Essentially your target temp the smoker is feeding pellets to maintain the selected cooking temp.
      P settings are more like custom smoking the lower the P setting the less time between pellet feedings, less smoke and higher cooking temp, the higher P setting, the more time between feedings, allowing pellets to smolder more and generate more smoke.
      Ambient outdoor temp is going to be more of a factor in smoke mode /P setting.
      He did a great job showing a few different P settings and what temp the smoker ran at on each setting.
      Hope this helps & happy smoking!!

    I just bought the pitboss Savannah and put it together. I will be using it tomorrow and I’m wondering does this smoker connect to the pitboss app and can I control it from my phone?

      Unfortunately no, that's like the one feature it lacks. As I understand you can order one with that feature for like 150 clams I haven't found it inconvenient enough to mess with it.
      Good luck on the 1st cook, the things are awesome!

      @@BrandoninIowa1776 I’ve been using a offset stick burner for 3 years and loved it but hated splitting wood and the price of wood and charcoal was insane! Was hesitant to get a pellet smoker bc I’ve heard the flavor doesn’t compare. Now that I did my first cook on my pitboss I can 💯 say I can’t taste any difference. I was shocked by how much smoke flavor the baby back ribs had and absolutely love the smoker 🤘🏻
